I actually have to get a birthday present for a niece whose birthday is the week after Christmas ( and obviously Christmas).
For one I can give money but it doesn't seem right for both being close together .

Shes posh, public school, bright but working as she likes the money and opportunities (lots of connections).

Its very tricky. Best gift was Ray Bans for her 16th ( TK Maxx bargain).

Any suggestions that won't break me?

Thinking 21st presents. What about a copy of a best selling book from the year she was born. Or the record that was number one when she was born. Or hard backed version of a childhood favourite story. I think that might be better than generic branded candles/hand cream/make up.

JadedFilly · 03/10/2024 13:04

The OP has already decided on her gifts!

These are great but you really need the actual lipstick and case too and it usually ends up about £70 all in!

The smallest size ceremonial matcha from the Tea Makers of London. Very "in" as a drink at the moment, consumable, and good quality. It comes in a nice tin too.

Op is on a low/£20 budget. You won't get much from Dior with that.

Not true,
eveey year aroubd Christmas comes the little pack for about £20 and you get a lip and a mascara or lip and nail polish. Not standard size but who cares? Goes perfectly into small night purse ;)

Urban Outfitters anything/brand new Iets Frans t -shirt from Vinted/Ebay with label on. Jelly cat Amusables. Toms Trunks anything. Voucher for Ego. Summer Fridays lip butter balm. Apparently Clarins have a great Dior lip oil dupe. Arita/Le Mieux. Huggie hoop earrings from Bijou de Mimi.( I work in a Prep School with some discerning 13 year olds). Being older, some Nyetimber wine perhaps?

Thisismynewname23 · 03/10/2024 21:01

This is such a good thread… agree with all the recommendations for the Clinique lipstick my daughter loves hers!

Great shout!

Silver earrings. Plenty of craft fairs around before Christmas you may be able to pick up something from those or failing that Etsy.

Top tip! But nail polish from Gucci (£25 a pop) and if you get from the Gucci site it comes free delivery with a nice tote bag

a lot to spend on nail polish but it’s a lovely bottle and a bit of luxury

A make up tutorial at one of the counters? Think it's usually £30 or something and then she can choose the products.

GardenDreams · 04/10/2024 02:39

I've quite enjoyed getting a few ideas for my own kids who are close in age to OP, thanks to all posters!
Thought really can't agree that the majority of suggestions are for girls 8-12, unless they are super grown up
