Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

I bought these reusable bamboo face pads in Aldi today - only 99p for 6. Might be good for a beauty hamper or stocking gift.

I know this is a Christmas thread but who better to help me with a bargain hunting and ideas for a 7 year old boy birthday present than you guys.

I have bought the Horrible Science bouncy eyeballs kit from Hobby Craft, using the £5 off over £15 spend. But I need a little something extra to go with it. If it was a girl I’d buy one of the top model colouring in books for around £5 but what is the boy equivalent?

I have another one - will pm you ! Valid for an hour once I’ve activated it !

Cloakanddagger101 · 27/09/2024 22:02

This Mystery beauty box is down to £20 from £100. Anyone have any experience with this site or what might be included?

Sorry if it’s already been mentioned, I am struggling to keep up at the moment!

@Cloakanddagger101 you could stick with the eyeball theme and get some eyeball-shaped bath bombs? Boots have the Bayliss & Harding ones in their 3-4-2, called something like Gross Bath or similar

Thank you for the offer- looks like no codes left 😕 If anyone else has one spare, I’d be so grateful!

Cox and Cox have 20% off all full price items with code INTROSEPA. I've not tried it but the offer is showing on a banner on their website. Know mumsnetters like their gift wrap but it's expensive.

Add the perfect finishing touch to a carefully chosen gift with our collection of luxury Christmas wrapping paper, Christmas charms and elegant curly ribbon.

I was tempted by the Fahlo bracelets last year, but I'd be interested to know if anyone who got them rates them? Worried they are too much of a faff to check or if they even work? Thanks

TryingToHelpBut · 27/09/2024 22:29

Ooo I like a beauty box (for me) but that's the problem with this thread, I always see things I like for myself! Anyway, don't forget if you do buy it, there's a bit more off with the code BEAUTY and cash back through TopCashback and airtime rewards as well. If you don't have airtime rewards, I'd recommend it before you do you Xmas shopping. You don't have to do anything unlike TopCashback
If you want a referral code PM me, there is a £5 starting incentive for the next couple of days.

bizzey · 27/09/2024 22:58

Ohh @TryingToHelpBut ..is that for the secret sales stuff .
I have got a few things in my basket now ...having only gone to look at the box !

I always forget to check TCB .
I will try the code out as well .
Thank you.

The site looks safe enough?

Givealittlebit · 27/09/2024 22:58

Does anyone have a Vodafone gruum code they won't use? Thanks!

I got the £20 secret sales box months ago and attached photo is what was in it, I was impressed for the money. I recall somebody else was disappointed with theirs and said everything was tatty and not giftable. So it’s a roll of the dice I think

@Famousthehero ....is the sire itself ok ?

bizzey · 27/09/2024 23:17

Safe I mean .

GentlemanJack · 28/09/2024 00:09

The secret sales site is good. I ordered a £40 mystery beauty box from there and I remember being pleased - can't remember what was in it though, sorry 😐 I gifted it all to make individual beauty hampers so it must have been good.

bizzey · 28/09/2024 00:54

Gave secret sales a go !
Managed to get DM her annual perfume a bit cheaper!

BEAUTY15 is a better code I think ?
And £ 2.68 TCB hopefully !

Thank you pp who posted !

bizzey · 28/09/2024 00:56

Really need to step away from this thread 😅....

Or eyeball shaped chocolates/sweets. I know Sainsburys has some in their Halloween range now, but I'm sure other shops do too.

Allthingspeaches · 28/09/2024 02:28

If anyone has a spare grumm code could I please request a dm? 🫶

My DS6 loves Zimpli bath bomb stuff. They have 3 slime bath bombs for about £10 on Amazon and you could gift one for birthday and pop one in his stocking.
