Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Where can I get the turtle dove wrist warmers from please? Cheaper than their website. My teen daughter suffers terribly with cold hands to the point her fingernails go blue and google tells me these will be best for when she's on her laptop/phone.

You need their eBay seconds

USaYwHatNow · 27/09/2024 11:31

@MamaK19 did they advise you of the free gift at the checkout, or in a later email? Ive added two Clinique products, made it to checkout and there's no notification that I'm eligible for a free gift. Wondering what I'm doing wrong?

USaYwHatNow · 27/09/2024 11:32

Never mind, just seen it's out of stock 😬

As someone with Raynaud's I'd also recommend fingerless gloves. I've had wrist warmers bought for me before and never got on with them as they're primarily wrist-focused, so come down from your fingers if you're using your hands a lot/are bulky depending on your tops sleeves.

For dog walking, I use the mittens that are fingerless but then you can fold over to keep your 4 fingers warm when you don't need to clip lead on/off etc.

Alternatively, this lady sells beautiful 100% cashmere fingerless gloves on ebay. Same price as Turtle Doves seconds, but you're setting to choose a particular style rather than a lucky dip, and they aren't seconds.

To note, I have loads of Turtle Doves ones (I was the OP of the £7.99 bargainous ones two years ago) and I've also bought about six pairs lately from this lady. The quality is beautiful (you can read her 100% feedback)

Just to add to my previous post, this is a pair I've had from the ebay lady recently. They are pre shrunk, so can be washed at 30 degrees

There is a preorder sale on these handmade tree decorations
Candy canes

Bits of macrame rope fashioned into a cane shape with added metallic thread for 43£ are not a bargain... nice advert 🤔

Hello. I’m surprised at how offended I am at that accusation. I love these and thought they were really cute. Up to you to think they are a scam but I see expensive plastic mentioned here all the time but am not rude about it.

Disappointed to see that comment. These threads are normally so friendly and supportive. It’s fine to look at something and think “that’s not for me” and then get on with your day
