Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Oh I also bought those tubs they also have chocolate oranges for 95p on clubcard. Three tubs and two oranges, I feel very organised! Pretty sure all my kids are done now, as long as there are no last minute curve balls, so just DH to go and wider family children! So pleased 😁 very worried about my job going into winter so every penny saved puts my mind at ease a little.

Keep em coming please 🙏🏼🙏🏼

I've bought some in peacocks before and they are surprisingly good quality. I can't remember the exact cost but much cheaper than the likes of next etc.

B&M had some lovely candy cane pjs for th whole family this year. I’ve bought from Primark, Morrison’s and Dunelm before and they’ve all been reasonable prices

Fuckingfuckssake · 26/09/2024 19:39

@LeatherJacketWedding thanks anyway, I appreciate you taking the time.

Free delivery at Lakeland.co.uk until midnight Friday 27 September. Might be useful for someone, I hate paying delivery charges. Haven’t had a proper look but they have their Christmas things on.

The Monica Vinader sample sale is back on today. I usually get earrings as a stocking filler for my adult kids https://www.chicmi.com/flash/monica-vinader-online-sample-s-september-2024/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=flash1hour&utm_campaign=3084&ri=363724

@Brin1977 Have they been OK when you have ordered before? I got carried away and placed a (single) £200+ order, but it has done this, and no confirmation 😱

Also thank you @Yalz for the heads up on M&S. My other pending transaction is two lamps 😊

@thereiscustardinthejamtart I've ordered 3 pairs of earrings the last 2 years and never had a problem

Does anyone know where you can get the cheapest family matching festive pjs? From 1 year + ideally! 🙏🏼❤️

House of Fraser have some pretty cheap Christmas PJs, and I think a few pairs are labelled family. I know some folk are having no luck with orders from there but I ordered last Saturday and it arrived yesterday (std delivery).

I'm hoping for dunelm discounts soon too! I'm getting quite a few festive bits on the wishlist...

BrieCamera · 26/09/2024 21:37

I got two of these calendars from Flying Tiger for grandparents that you draw the pictures in yourself - going to get the kids to draw something in each month. Thought it would be a nice gift for £3.50.

Edited to add - you could also stick in photos if you didn’t want to draw - or maybe baby hand prints?

I'm not sure Dunelm ever really do discount codes, just random sales on particular items/lines

I waited for weeks last year before giving up.

TryingToHelpBut · 26/09/2024 21:51

In all the years I've been enjoying Dunelm I've never once seen a code or had a discount email. Only ever seen it on TopCashback and that's pretty small as well.

HyggeTyggeDotCom · 26/09/2024 21:54

Thanks for dunelm advice. I’ve got a few bits on my wishlist I may as well just purchase I think.

did notice today that regatta have some good discounts in their outlet. Picked up some winter hats/coats and a pair of boots for DD

YeahWellWhyNot · 26/09/2024 21:59

PollyOrange · 26/09/2024 22:13

@MayaTheBusyBee maybe so. I shall continue the trawl. It was a dry robe type one rather than online home shop.

PollyOrange · 26/09/2024 22:15

@GirlWithTheYellowHat I had thought so but nothing in my email so I may have just not clicked through to order !

For dunelm it’s always worth keeping an eye on the voucher codes site as they often have free vouchers when you spend set amounts.

Its only a £5 voucher with a £99 order at the moment here but is usually a much higher percentage.

I'm not sure if it's already been mentioned, but the Cookeez Makery Oven is down to £15.99 on Amazon this morning. Dd has wanted one for a while, but I just didn't think it was worth £30-£40, I can cope with that though!

My dd loved this last year!
I got it for £30 and it was one of the main things she wanted.
It's well worth it at that dropped price!
