Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Be warned, the chocolates fall out ALL THE TIME!!!! You only have to look in its direction and a roche falls out!

Who knew my "Smart Games" suggestion would be such a winner! I'm so pleased!

I must say I even enjoy the "kids" games as you really do have to think as you work your way through the challenges.

My two have "Grizzly Gears" and "Penguins on Ice" and I have an IQ mini which is great for having in a handbag for waiting rooms and super cheap.

Something for everyone to be aware of .....if you're shopping on Amazon then use the website "CamelCamelCamel" to check prices. You stick in the Amazon product URL and it shows you a history of the price so you can decide whether it's currently a good deal or if you want to wait to buy.

On the subject of Smart Games - I would highly recommend 'Genius Square' and 'Genius Star' for all ages. I bought them for my parents a couple of years ago, and family from 6/7 to 60+ have thoroughly enjoyed it; you can play competitively or not (dependent on players - we didn't race the children, but the adults got really quite determined to beat each other!)

Just an idea if you're looking for a family game - simple concept, but strangely addictive. Or maybe we're just a bit weird like that. 🤪
