Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

@IggyAce I'm also off for New York before Christmas, and am torn between bargain hunting here now or waiting for New York!
I've not been before so I don't know what the shopping is like - I've heard it's great, but most people are referring to clothes, which isn't what most of the presents I buy would usually be.

@Wholetthedogsoutwhowhowho not Costa branded but last year I got some mini reusable 'coffee' style cups with lids from Primark. They were probably a little bigger than the standard babycino size cup. They came with marshmallows and a pack of hotchoc mix and had a little gingerbread man design on them. I think they were £5.

I'd be tempted to look out for the classrooms in that case as don't think they are specific to events. I was going to suggest the ones in books but they seem to have gone up a lot in price! Will keep a look out!

If you have a Costco card, they had a Harry Potter Lego advent calendar for about £19 when I last went.

Some different advent calendars in home bargains today. A polar express one for £1.25. A koka noodle 12 day one for £6.99. A 24 day skinny bar one for £6.99 and a fidget toy calendar for £9.99

There's some half price 40cm squishmallows over at smyths at the moment.

thanks for this was looking for a fidget one for youngest DC as Smyths don’t appear to have one this year. Eldest DC may also like the noddle one.

Oh I LOVE the polar express advent calendar. That's me going to home bargains tomorrow.

Thread 1 and i've got a load of stuff from The Works, 5 mystery boxes, a Gruum set, some half price Nike stuff I bought after idling over to jd sports site.

And now I'm on Etsy. Just ordered the personalised stickers for wrapping and 2 bloody scratch cards that tell the kids they've been nice 😅

99p each though and I do go the whole hog and do the North Pole breakfast complete with December 1st boxes!

I was in New York not so long ago. I didn't think the shopping was bargainous at all, very similar to UK prices, if not more expensive in some places. Definitely more variety though so might be good for different gift ranges etc

My DS is 15 so we've done a lot of the shows now.

Those with issues with Frasers- I received a response to my query 6 days after asking but they have since been responsive.

Regarding the the lack of progress on the oversize delivery items, ' it is still in the process of being picked up from the warehouse but you will be notified via email as to the delivery date of the other order.'
