I feel like this year is going to be my year of terrible cheesy Christmas pun thread titles Xmas Grin

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Gutted for you with the Clarins glitch- love it when people get a deal because they haven't run the proper checks.

The M&S cheap cake mix thing- I've seen TikTok about a m and s 90% secret food sale at the moment. Last year there were tons of bargains apparently. Don't know how it works or why but that could be what it was?

I like some of those bits on notino that you've all posted, but when I added something else, I can't get the 20% off to work anymore. Also are you paying £3.99 postage?

I bought 2 last year with the idea of giving to my mum, both were bad, one had a not so small hole the other were 2 very obvious different sizes.... both sets went in the bin. I'm sure there's a lot of good ones with minor defects but there's definitely some that aren't wearable, just your luck I suppose!

Yes I bought some last year for myself. They had quite a noticeable hole in them but the main problem was that they were incredibly narrow and I have very small hands and wrists. I could only just get them on.

Hi, I think it was someone on here that was asking about L’Occitane advent calendar reductions. Thanks to a poster on another site, I discovered that Escentual have 25% off most/all products with code:

Escentual 25

It works with the L’Occitane advent calendar, bringing it down to £51.

It also works with the Nuxe advent calendar.

https://www.escentual.com

They also have some good Shiseido, Clarins and Nuxe gift sets - also with 25% off.

Lots of sylvanians sets in the Asda George toy sale

Thank you for flagging this, two Sylvanian presents for DD2 ticked off my list!

Hi, we will be away for Christmas this year so I'm trying to get everything bought and wrapped before December. On my travels I have spotted/bought a few things you might be interested in. Kylie lip kits and lipsticks in TK Max for under a tenner, lots of Glossier make up too, I don't live near a TK Max so bought online. There's a great sale on Not On The High Street, i've had several cashmere scarves, personalised with the recipients name along the bottom and in a personalised bag for £17. They will make great gifts for in-laws, friends etc.

Bought DH a curry legend kit from the spicery so far, he's the one I struggle with every year!

We are removing this while we do some checks behind the scenes.

If anyone has an Argos code they could send me please it would be greatly appreciated, spending over £100 as dd needs a new bed!

Pancake1203 · 12/09/2024 20:13

I’d also be keen for an Argos code please if anyone has one?

HeadOfGregor · 12/09/2024 20:18

I love this thread.

10 mins ago I had no idea how much I needed an Up Lego set (DH despatched to our local Asda after work tomorrow)

Dedication to GAME refund is just incredible 👏😆

Some decent stocking filler type bargains on the works. Diamond painting sets half price £2.50 and Christmas crafts from £1.

I got some cross stitch cards and hanging wooden signs to decorate to put in the 1st December boxes.

Cute stationary sets and notepads down to £2, ideal for nieces and nephews.

Added a couple of books in for me and used code VCUKWORKS10 to get 10% off orders over £35 (free delivery over £30)

Dinosweetpea · 12/09/2024 20:26

@Kewforyourlife do you have a link to the scarf please? I can't find anything for that price, Thanks! x

Oh wise Mumsnet friends!! I'm looking for a plastic Costa small cup please. My son is loving a babychino (using the bargain Lavazza milk warmer purchased from here many years ago!) and as he loves Costa, I'm wanting a plastic cup please.
Has anyone seen one please? I can see a gift set on ebay for £20 but that seems a bit steep? I haven't seen plastic ones in actual Costa coffee shops.
Anyone any help please, do these exist anymore?

Last year Tesco did a costa gift set with plastic costa cups. I’m hoping they will do them again this year as my DC would love them now!

@MarryMeTomHardy from The Works

RainbowZebraWarrior · 12/09/2024 20:44

My Clarins order was also cancelled. Shame as I actually wanted it. I'd have liked the option, but the 10% off is nothing more than they offer new customers anyway.

White Stuff got it right last year by honouring the sock orders. I think very highly of them now and have ordered since.

I've unsubcribed from Frasers group emails as they are utter arses. The discounts might be good (too good to be true), but when the customer service is rubbish and only half your order gets delivered, then they are nothing more than sharks.

ItWasOnAStarryNight · 12/09/2024 20:48

Sorry. Should've been clearer

Diamond painting etc at The Works

hby9628 · 12/09/2024 21:05

3 Asdas to find an Up! Managed to get the last 2 one for DD & one for my Niece. The Mickey Mouse with Disney castle one looked cute too that was down to £25

YeahWellWhyNot · 12/09/2024 21:18

If anyone sees any offers on Lego harry potter I'd be really grateful. My ds who is soon to be 7 has it on his Santa list but he's only half way through the philosophers stone so I'm struggling a little to find cheaper sets which aren't based on events later in the series (like he doesn't know anything about the flying car). Obviously he wants the castle...never going to happen 🤣 so I have some minimising to do

random123456 · 12/09/2024 21:23

Sorry for the ugly link, always forget how to do pretty ones!

ArthurChristmas22 · 12/09/2024 21:32

My Elizabeth Arden order arrived today with the free gift missing. No explanation, just a box with the one thing I ordered. Clearly, I wouldn't have bought it without the free gift so feel a bit swindled. Have emailed them, but return very likely!

Good evening, just checking in and great title @Reastie. This year I’ll be on a super slim budget because we are off to New York in November. So I’m hoping to get some little gifts while I’m there.

YeahWellWhyNot · 12/09/2024 21:36

Ah thanks @hattie43 (lovely name btw!) just way out of my budget.
