I feel like this year is going to be my year of terrible cheesy Christmas pun thread titles Xmas Grin

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Camelcamelcamel is a great amazon price tracking tool http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com

The following links compare price products including postage

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

Home! They kept me waiting but I refused to move. Eventually spoke to Head of Commercial who promised to look into it and gave me her details. I now have an email stating my order has been cancelled and refunded, I have been refunded delivery costs and a £15 evoucher (which I will NEVER use) as a gesture of 'goodwill'.

I will never order from them again!

I missed the backstory. What happened ?

Well done for persevering

Thanks so much for the heads up about Notino! I've never been on that site before and there's so many good offers! I picked up a few of these Nars sets I know they are tiny but I've had a tiny blusher from that range before (I think it was in an Advent calendar) and it's so pigmented that it last forever. Really good little gifts that I know will be used. There's also a huge selection of diffusers and diffuser oils etc. Really impressed!

Lovely thanks. Just bought a couple of these. 🧑🏻‍🎄

PumpkinSpicedTea · 12/09/2024 16:33

Also got the Elizabeth Arden stuff yesterday and was quite pleased with the free gift even though it wasn't in a box. I think I'm going to make up a hamper with other bits I can hopefully get as a bargain as time goes on 😄

ETA - was going to gift the gift set I actually bought but now I want to keep it 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ilovepugs2017 · 12/09/2024 16:35

Ah sorry. Just seen others have posted about clarins.
@GermanBite yes I'm glad they cancelled it all. I only went for it because it was such a good deal!

If you don’t mind giving (or wearing) seconds, the Turtle Doves eBay store has fingerless gloves in stock again. You can choose the colour.
Fingerless gloves are £12.99 per pair, 4+ pairs are £10.39 each.
They also have non-cashmere ones are £7.99, £6.39 each for 4+ pairs.

Postage in the UK is free.

The listing says they won’t have the Turtle Doves label sewn in, to show that they are seconds. People buying them last year found that some did have the label, probably but not necessarily with a black line through it.

I bought 2 last year with the idea of giving to my mum, both were bad, one had a not so small hole the other were 2 very obvious different sizes.... both sets went in the bin. I'm sure there's a lot of good ones with minor defects but there's definitely some that aren't wearable, just your luck I suppose!

Tea pigs have their advent calendar out, and an early bird reduction. Tea Pigs Advent Tea Pigs Advent Tea Pigs Advent

Thanks so much that's 2 calendars and 3 different types of teabags coming. I bought 3 small 2 bag packs to try: rhubarb and ginger, silver tips and oolong. This also made it just over £25 so free delivery

fluffytail · 12/09/2024 18:08

I happened to pop into The Entertainer this afternoon and picked up a Disney Wish Asha doll for 66% off at £6, Playdoh set for 25% off and a mini little mermaid doll for £3.50. They had loads of big reductions. I'm so pleased because they're all things DD has asked for.

minsmum · 12/09/2024 18:09

My Clarins order has been cancelled as well

Sorry to read that. I bought quite a few pairs and they were all fine. I couldn’t find any fault at all with some of them. The worst pair were just a bit felted - they were plenty big enough but not as stretchy as unfelted ones are.

Hello everyone. Love these threads. Our 'Robert' unicorn ( re named Twinkle)still sleeps next to my daughter, she turns 15 in January😀

We are removing this while we do some checks behind the scenes.

There's also been Byoma on Boots £10 Tuesday so might be worth keeping an eye on there.

I bought 4 pairs from their eBay store last year and they were all perfect, such a shame yours weren't @Smil3!
I gave 3 as gifts which were well received, and kept a pair for myself that I use all the time as my hands get cold typing at work.

Reastie · 12/09/2024 18:45

Thanks for all the reminders etc, I think I'm getting it all together enough for the next thread 🤞🏻

I've had an alert that my railcard entitles me to a free Gruum gift set with only P&P to pay. There are three different ones to choose from including nice skincare and shampoo worth up to £45. Sustainable and plastic packaging free - been popular with MNers in the past.
