I feel like this year is going to be my year of terrible cheesy Christmas pun thread titles Xmas Grin

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Thank you for the thread Reastie. I think baby DD was about 3 months old on the first thread and she is now 11 - would that be right?
Did someone mention a free delivery for tea pigs? The advent calendar would be good for DH.

QueenOfWeeds · 13/09/2024 17:25

Thanks for the threads, @Reastie and @Sideorderofchips.

I’m after a discount on Duplo, if anyone sees one. Argos have the sets I like in the 5x nectar point sale, so maybe that’s as good as any discount I might find?

IlovePond · 13/09/2024 17:33

Hi,

Clintons have some things in store at 50%, including soft toy/cushion cute fluffy stars at £4.99, (from £9.99) and some Disney items.

In Boots, 3-4-2 on Elizabeth Arden and GWP on Clinique, Liz Earle and EL, (that last was specific to buying the ANS).

For anyone who didn't get Adam Frost's book when it was posted, it's still £2. Mine arrived yesterday and it's a beautiful book. Mostly about gardening, but with some recipes too. RRP £22

Thank you so much for this. I just got a watch for DH, with engraving from DDs on the back for £53 down from £150

My DD asked for the same but she’s happy with satin (same as her older sister), which is more affordable and machine washable! I got a Kitsch branded one off Amazon. It was only £12. (Obviously silk will cost more.)

mogtheexcellent · 13/09/2024 18:37

I have Jasmine silk pillowcases and they wash fine at 30 degrees.

LittleMousewithcloggson · 13/09/2024 18:40

Just a reminder that Warren James have some lovely jewellery at very cheap prices. Need to pay extra for boxes and bags but I just bought some small gift boxes on Amazon. Split a 3 pair set of earrings (£12) into separate pairs and they will go in crackers for the Christmas table
Might do the same with bracelets for the new year. Looks so much more expensive than they are

I’ve had these ones for about 5 years now and they’re still great (and go through the washing machine with no problem). And there are different colours to chose from.

Thank you although not sure it applies both. When I add the code it readds the 30% and just discounts the 40%

hby9628 · 13/09/2024 18:53

All those pillowcases look good. Now I don't know which one to go for!

The kitsch one is on offer for 11.99 which seems a good deal.

Restlessinthenorth · 13/09/2024 18:53

Not random but just been to Tesco. Quite a few different choices of wine which are normally on the shelf at £15 each down to £3.90! Absolute steal for any wine based gifts you might want to give. May not be in every store but worth keeping your eye out. They were on the reduce shelf, just in the middle of the normal shelves with the more expensive wines

sorry to hear it didn’t work for you, It did for me, knocked an extra £10 off which made the extortionate delivery palatable.

Hooray. I’m pleased to finally contribute something… even if it is off the back of the kind soul who posted it last year so I’m still on their mailing list!
