Apologies if this has been done already, I didn't see one. My DP got me:

T-shirt&mug from favourite band
Skincare from brand I haven't used but looks nice
Small lush gift
Eyeshadow palette

All nice things and I'm very grateful but what I really wanted was an engagement ring 🙃

What did your DP/H get you?Smile

Wooden panpipes
A wooden owl that you blow into to make a hooting sound
An incense burner carved wooden box
13 boxes of incense sticks
A pair of ear rings.

Like you, a ring would have been very well received!

HurdyGurdy19 · 27/12/2023 09:20

An electric hot water bottle. Which didn't arrive in time. And which is a duplicate of one of the presents my daughter got me.

yellowsun · 27/12/2023 09:21

Vouchers for spa treatments and chocolates. Very happy!

ScottChegg · 27/12/2023 09:24

He got me a copy of David Mitchell's book, Unruly. Which is exactly what I wanted and I'm very happy indeed.

Bluelightbaby · 27/12/2023 09:28

Mac book pro
some horsey bits ‘n’ bobs
stocking fillers

were already engaged, but I’d hate a proposal on Xmas day…I’d want a bit more effort put in

Ah that was on my secret Santa list! I got a dressing gown instead 🙄😅

Madickenxx · 27/12/2023 09:29

Sheepskin slippers, champagne truffles, spacer charms for my Pandora bracelet and some god awful plant plots that had "best wife ever" on them. All in all very happy that he mostly listened to my not so subtle hints.

hangingonfordearlife1 · 27/12/2023 09:29

nothing. married 21 years. all our money spent on kids presents. 2 teenagers and a baby

doriangraybutimthepaintingintheattic · 27/12/2023 09:30

Money to get my hair done which is exactly what I wanted.

How long have you been together?

Every year people say to me maybe this will be the year... we've always strongly discussed our feeelings on marriage and there will be no proposals and we are in our 19th year but still everyone tells me to be hopeful.

PracticalPatricia · 27/12/2023 09:32

Sienna Jeans from M&S (they're my favourite style)
A big, cosy hoodie from LA sports or somewhere
A lush bath bomb
Sweets and chocolate

We don't do big presents to each other these days. We're too poor 😂

I remember anticipating an engagement ring too op and not getting one for what felt like ages 😩. We didn't even do a proper proposal in the end, just had a quite calm conversation about it one day and then went shopping for a ring 😂. Oh well. It was practical and still a nice memory in hindsight

beguilingeyes · 27/12/2023 09:32

New running shoes (which I asked for)
A book about Slade
A bottle of not-quite-Baileys.
Some Leonidas chocolates
Oh..and the Kate Bush Umbrella, which is gorgeous.

He got me a garmin watch (which I knew about) and a massive pregnancy pillow!

I was very happy!

VerityUnreasonble · 27/12/2023 09:39

Various nice things (lovely shoes, some jumpers, some bath stuff).

And the most amazing pen from:

www.crushmetric.com

which I never knew existed, but I can't stop playing with. He knows me very well.

SugarCookieMonster · 27/12/2023 09:41

DH got me perfume I really wanted but thought was too expensive, Christmas Lego set to add to my collection, lovely PJs, a Loungefly bag of my favourite film. In my stocking I had some measuring spoons, a towel hair wrap, big bow headband for baths/to hold hair away for make up, candle wick cutter and snuffer set.

We’ve been together 22 years and he is very good at finding things I need and love. We’ve both given each other a few duds over the years but learnt from it!

Fingers crossed for a New Year’s proposal for you!

Ratfinkstinkypink · 27/12/2023 09:46

Lovely thread, glad so many of you had gifts you enjoy. I hope those of you wanting proposals get them soon.

Same here on the marriage/proposal front and been together a very similar length of time.

I got a cook book I asked for, a recipe notebook, chocolate and another book I asked for.
Happy with that- all things off my list (except the chocolate) which is how I like it.

Simonjt · 27/12/2023 09:46

A pokemon puzzle
merz b schwanen t-shirt
a three day cookery course (that I’m very excited about!)

I was very spoiled

RabbitsRock · 27/12/2023 09:50

That I knew about - Primark clothes & memory foam slippers.
Surprise Present - Terrys Chocolate Orange, £25 M & S voucher & relaxing reed diffusers ( he said relaxing is something I need to do more)

Sammilouwho · 27/12/2023 10:02

Some k-drama things, a pen with my name on because our DD keeps pinching mine, my favourite lip balm, some crocs and my favourite Korean treats :)

He did really well which is more than I can say for my in-laws 😂

biostudent · 27/12/2023 10:05

I got a kindle, a big snuddie and slippers! Perfect! :)

MumLass · 27/12/2023 10:08

A beautiful necklace, a hoodie, a mug, a wireless charging stand for my devices.

It's our first Christmas together, I'm so chuffed. Much more thoughtful than my exH ever was!

Timeforanewnam · 27/12/2023 10:10

x 2 books I wanted

which was lovely.

we did a few years of no gifts because we were really poor and had no money left , but decided a few years ago that even if we were skint , a book and a selection box is less then £10 , and it’s rubbish having no gifts - so a minimal amount is expected.

of course we are at the bottom of the list after kids , Christmas food , outing staff night outs , usual bills ect

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 27/12/2023 10:15

We choose our own presents to be sure we receive something we want. I chose a large needlepoint / tapestry kit and a Radley x Beano bag.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 27/12/2023 11:12

A Jetboil (type of lightweight camping stove) and some local minsture whiskeys.

I am very happy with those.
