It's a leap year next year, so an extra day to wait!

I've ordered 120 baubles today, as WeRChristmas sent me a 50% code for today only. Annoyingly I could get our new tree way cheaper today! 😭

I'm exhausted now I've finally had time to sit and relax. Tomorrow is a chill day.

I’ve got a c&c tomorrow and I can’t get the payment to go through on my amended order. So annoying. I’ve looked online and they’re saying everything is fixed but clearly not…

NoWordForFluffy · 16/03/2024 19:39

Why did I think your DD was vegan, 70?

That's frustrating, Wreck. I've not shopped online since the new shop opened. I hope you get it sorted.

No not vegan Fluffy but her and I both use soya milk in coffee ( I started to drastically cut my dairy intake as milk in coffee was my biggest intake and it did help my IBS a bit ) DD tried soya and liked it as is sweeter .
I have cut right down but not eliminated chocolate more by a fluke than by trying hard. 😁. DD DH and I are vegetarian but DS isn’t

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/03/2024 21:39

Ah. One of the posts from the start of this thread ( I’m on the iPad it takes me to the first post). I was taking madam to buy vegan shoes. ( I don’t wear leather either so I buy M&S vegan shoes , she’d run a million miles in bare feet before she wore them. But she does have some M&S work clothes as they do nice things for the tall and very slender like her)

Tiring Saturday here. Went to do an eye test.

Only they can't do it in store because of how I sit in my wheelchair. I don't qualify for free nhs eye tests, purely because of how much DH earns!!

So the at home team won't see me.

Luckily one of the gentlemen who works in store, also works for the at home team. So he could phone the director and get an agreement to see me at home for a PRIVATE eye test.

I don't mind paying, but it's absolutely ridiculous the faff I had to go through to get somebody to see common sense! I don't know what I would have done if that particular gentleman wasn't working today.

Oh and on the way home, a pigeon decided my car was the perfect toilet 🤢🤢

So I had to get my car washed.

They'd increased the price to £20. For the OUTSIDE ONLY.

£20!!!!!

Morning!

Lots of rain overnight and nowhere for it to go really, so it's very soggy underfoot and paw.

I took the dog for his morning gallop and it at least stayed dry overhead. He was loving leaping in and drinking from all the puddles and pools in the woods and elsewhere!

I need to do housework today as I failed yesterday! Bathrooms, I'm coming to get you! 🤣🤣

70, that makes sense re your DD now! 2+2=5. 🙈

Awful waste of a day here. Me and DH had a stinker of a row and have been avoiding each other giving each other space since, which means he went out to run errands and a walk and I furiously tidied the garden then went to my sisters so the kids could cheer me up.
Ive decided to now log in and just set myself up for work this week.
I'm calm but upset - we bicker here and there but we don't really argue anymore. Aagghh what a waste of the first non rainy day in bloody ages.

Hope everyone is having a better day than I am!

Spencer0220 · 17/03/2024 18:33

🤗🤗🤗

Hope you get it sorted out soon @NoCheesesForUsMeeces

WreckTangled · 17/03/2024 18:37

Ah that’s rubbish meeces I hope things settle soon.

I’m still suffering, was awake at 3 this morning as my throat was so sore, I was googling 24 hour pharmacies but none closer than two hours away 😂 got some difflam, Sudafed and ibuprofen now that seem to be helping.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/03/2024 19:43

Dose up, Wreck...aallllllll the drugs. Hope you feel better soon.

Meeces, that's shit. I hope normal relations resume soon.

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 17/03/2024 20:37

Ahh Meeces that's crap. Hope you resolve it soon.

Is it possible that it's Covid Wreck? The sore throat was my first symptom.

I've been doing the last bits of preparation for my kitchen renovation that starts tomorrow. I'll have a few more last minute things to do in the morning and then I'll basically be keeping out of the way while the carpenter works his magic.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 17/03/2024 20:52

I hope things sort themselves out soon Meeces. I am sure they will.

I was out and about earlier, causing mayhem with brain fog and just generally being a ditz.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 18/03/2024 19:00

282 Evening. Good news here - things are as resolved as they can be and we're back to being friendly 🥳

Wreck I hope you're feeling better. Don't forget to rub Vicks on your feet (no idea why but my whole family do this when we're ill).

Are you having a replacement kitchen Buck or throwing in some remodelling/structural work for good measure?

How are you feeling today why?

Spencer0220 · 19/03/2024 00:19

Finally I see how to change text on the app. Yay!!

Glad things are better now @NoCheesesForUsMeeces

Went out this evening to get more wood shavings for the boys. Didn't realise it was 25% off sale, so yay!!!!! Got extra.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 19/03/2024 06:45

Glad things resolved Meeces. I still feel really unwell, I appreciate you asking though. This flare is settling in, hopefully it will do one soon.

WreckTangled · 19/03/2024 19:14

I have got such a sore throat. General cold started Wednesday. Friday I lost my voice but only mild pain when swallowing. From Saturday it was more painful. Sunday night and since it’s been so bad. My voice is sort of back a bit, I’m dreading swallowing to the point of spitting when I’m in the shower but not all the time. My ears hurt too. I’m so miserable. I can’t see any pus and don’t have a temp so I’m assuming it’s just viral but omg it’s awful and I’m feeling very sorry for myself. Ibuprofen and difflam haven’t touched it this evening.

Spencer0220 · 19/03/2024 19:15

Very gentle hugs @WreckTangled

Hope you feel better soon xx

NoWordForFluffy · 19/03/2024 19:40

Sounds awful, Wreck. I hope you're better soon.

And good news about the defrosting relations, Meeces!

OP posts:
TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 19/03/2024 19:53

That sounds miserable Wreck. Are you off work sick or are you having to power through?

I hope the painkillers kick in soon.

WreckTangled · 19/03/2024 20:07

I’m at uni, I wouldn’t be working but I can’t miss lectures. I only have tomorrow then have two weeks off. I took ibuprofen over two hours ago and it didn’t make a difference just took some paracetamol (choked on it!) so hoping that helps although it’s been 40 mins and nothing so far…

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 19/03/2024 20:34

Have you got any soluble paracetamol? I wonder if taking that - but gargling with it first might help.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 20/03/2024 10:19

280 Morning. I had the dentist today so my face looks a bit like this right now 🫤🥴 It's still numb but I'm assuming the pain will come later (have taken pain killers in anticipation and have made sure I'm meeting free today).

Me and DH had a good talk yesterday and are all back to normal now. Feel I should say that I was the main cause of the row too which is the worst feeling.

Wreck I second soluble painkillers if possible. Not sure why but I know when I saw the dr for migraines I was told high dose aspirin works but only if you take it in soluble form because it reaches the system faster and you lose less than you would in tablet form. No idea if it's true but it seems to work.
If you have some, my advice is to take it with squash (because it tastes awful) and drink it through a straw (less chance of gritty bits in your mouth).

Is your DH dealing with the dc so you can rest? Your virus sounds awful 💐

How long would a flare typically last why? Is there anything that helps?

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 20/03/2024 10:35

It is the first flare up I have had Meeces. It seems to have gone big on this as well. No stress is the best thing but my life isn't really without stress. I am back at the Dr this morning not expecting much though.

WreckTangled · 20/03/2024 16:41

I don’t have any soluble painkillers but thankfully I seem to be improving in that I can swallow without wanting to cry today although it’s still sore!

Why sorry to hear you’re suffering, it’s really shit.

@WreckTangled that's great news.

We stocked up our freezer with meat on offer today. I really stress having to buy things like that during holiday periods. I think we have enough until after Easter.

Trying to think of somewhere to go for an accessible day out. We want to avoid London.
