It's a leap year next year, so an extra day to wait!

I've ordered 120 baubles today, as WeRChristmas sent me a 50% code for today only. Annoyingly I could get our new tree way cheaper today! 😭

I'm exhausted now I've finally had time to sit and relax. Tomorrow is a chill day.

Roasted Salmon and mash sounds lovely

I finally made a batch of Martha Stewart Cookies as mentioned quite a while back. Thank you to whoever posted, they are so delicous and DS now addicted

Martha Stewart cookies could be me - they are lush aren't they Xmas Grin

I make a batch , chill overnight in a roll otherwise they're too soft . ( The amount I make , I freeze half for later)

So, so much nicer than Millies .

Good for using up random left over chocolate ( I know there shouldn't be such a thing ) we had some Costco own brand Toblerone minis but only the dark ones that no-one eats . They were very nice in cookies .

Spencer0220 · 10/03/2024 23:28

The roast salmon was a hit. We did roast potatoes in the end, as DM never has them.

But I didn't realise cayenne pepper was a chilli. I thought it was a fancy black pepper.

Blew all our heads off!

Dm hates spicy, but this went down very well. Which surprised us all

I am a roast potato maestro even if I have to say it myself 😂. I won't eat a pub Sunday lunch as their potatoes are not up to my exacting standards. I realise I am cutting off my nose to spite my face here but I actually enjoy cooking a roast including Christmas dinner - shut everyone out of the kitchen, pour a glass of wine and have a kitchen disco while everything is cooking.

I have defrosted the freezer today in preparation for getting a new F/F later this week.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 11/03/2024 19:34

I enjoy cooking a roast/Christmas dinner as well Buck. It doesn't phase me at all and I also make fabulous roast potatoes and I don't really like pub dinner ones.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/03/2024 19:37

I enjoy cooking a roast / Christmas dinner too, Buck. Lots and lots of roast 🥔 🥔🥔🥔 here!

Which F/F are you getting?

why when I eat at a restaurant or have a takeaway I prefer to eat something that I don't cook at home. We went out for lunch last week as DH had a rare day off and found an amazing tapas restaurant in a tiny country pub.

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 11/03/2024 19:40

It's an American style FF with ice and chilled water dispensers. Very excited.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/03/2024 19:48

Ooh! Fancy! We don't have room for such a delight. 😩

Evening!

Wet start to today which then improved to dry, so we did some washing. The forecast is shocking for the rest of the week. I may get drowned on all the dog walks, as I did today!

I'm watching a forensics programme on iPlayer. It's fascinating!

OP posts:
Spencer0220 · 12/03/2024 20:24

Ooh I love forensics. What are you watching?

I've been feeling quite rough today, so lazy bed day for me. 🛌

DH currently cooking a prawn risotto. He's been super busy at work today.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 12/03/2024 20:37

I watched a forensics programme on iPlayer the other night. I wonder if it was the same one Fluffy.

Just bought several second hand books on eBay. Books always cheer me up and I am feeling a bit meh as I still feel ridiculously poorly and I am sulking about it.

WreckTangled · 12/03/2024 20:43

I feel like I have a very bad cold brewing.

Spencer0220 · 12/03/2024 20:44

Wet and windy here. Thankfully dry overnight and for the dog walk, so I wasn't drowned today. Also it was actually relatively warm as things go.

Why, there's 10 episodes on iPlayer. I watched the newest with a body in a freezer. I'll watch the others too now.

I staved off a migraine with ALL the drugs today. I feel sick / weird now though. 🤢

The body in the freezer was the one I watched as well Fluffy. I have lined up the others to watch, it was so interesting.

Spencer0220 · 13/03/2024 18:15

Was that the one about the old man that went undetected for a couple of years??

Shocking case.

Hope you feel better soon, @NoWordForFluffy

Schneekugel · 14/03/2024 01:50

If you like murder mysteries, I just finished reading a novel - Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell. It's horrible, but fascinating.

Bloody miserable here today. Our garden is very soggy indeed.

That sounds like a book Why and I would enjoy!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 14/03/2024 20:24

I have read it Fluffy, you would definitely like it.

Oops, missed a day!

It looks to be lovely here this morning. DH has opened the curtains and French door and it's nice and sunny outside. I need to get up to walk the hound! 🐕 At least it's not raining!

WreckTangled · 16/03/2024 08:03

Lovely day here too. Shame I feel too ill to do anything. I’m v cross as I don’t get ill.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 16/03/2024 14:54

Hope you have the opportunity to rest and that you're feeling better soon Wreck

It's been pretty much non stop rain here this week. It was meant to be nice today but it's been raining since 10am so my garden potching remains undone.

I've had a cleaning blast today so my house is pretty much done (except for washing - we've somehow created more than I can get done and dried this weekend) 🙄

DH is out watching the rugby and I'm sort of watching it (in the background). Dsis was meant to be coming over with the kids but one of them is unwell so I think I'm going to plod on with the crochet and chill out.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/03/2024 19:09

Evening.

Visiting my mum for a couple of days , no thoughts of anything festive
I did read a post today that Sainsbury deliveries were having huge technical problems today. Ours is usually a Friday , I got a couple of the Cadbury Mini Egg Bars put on for the DC. DD had one and said it was delicious.DS is very suspicious of anything new/fangled but he likes mini eggs and chocolate so both together is a winner. And probably only a limited edition so dig in .

Apart from doing some Easter Menus which are as involved as the Christmas menus but no sprouts it’s pretty much the same . Broccoli instead of sprouts .
DH has said he wants to go shopping for holiday clothes (that’ll be fun )
