It's a leap year next year, so an extra day to wait!

I've ordered 120 baubles today, as WeRChristmas sent me a 50% code for today only. Annoyingly I could get our new tree way cheaper today! 😭

I'm exhausted now I've finally had time to sit and relax. Tomorrow is a chill day.

I need to either stop watching cleaning TikToks or up my regular cleaning routine 😂

Today I dismantled the vacuum cleaner and cleaned the filters (this is a regular job) and cleared out all the tubes and hoses. Not a regular job 🤢

Then I moved on to the waste traps on the sink 🤢🤢.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 06/03/2024 20:26

Evening. Sounds like you've been busy Buck

I finally had part 1 of my root canal today and it hurts
I'm not normally a wuss when it comes to the dentist but this was horrible, plus I started being able to feel some of it partway though and required more anaesthetic Shock

Im having a very chilled out evening and DH feels so sorry for me he's done his housework and mine 👍

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 06/03/2024 20:47

Oh Meeces that sounds rough. I hope the pain goes soon.

Spencer0220 · 07/03/2024 05:22

Hope you feel better soon, @NoCheesesForUsMeeces

DH is happy. He needed more clothes, and I bought a bunch off Vinted and they started arriving.

Morning!

Up for the dog walk / run. I don't mind it once I get going, but getting up can be hard!

Meeces, I hope your tooth feels better soon. Root canal does seem unpleasant, so sorry you're going through it.

Morning. Looks like another nice day here today. I’ve got uni and a major road is closed due to sewerage on the carriageway following flooding. Nice.

I’ve just put a duvet in the washing machine, wish me luck, it’s too big really but dd bled all over it (nose) so trying to save it.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 07/03/2024 10:07

Morning. Feeling slightly better today, although am taking painkillers and my speech still isn't quite right.

Spencer how have you found Vinted? I bought quite a few things at the same time but so far I had one parcel that had been mixed up by the delivery company (I received a childs sports top when it should have been a top and a dress for me) and have just had an email that one order just hasn't been shipped so I'm being refunded.

Fluffy do you think you'll find it easier to get going in the mornings as they get lighter?

Good luck with the duvet Wreck

Spencer0220 · 07/03/2024 10:29

Hope your duvet is alright @WreckTangled I have ruined many a pillow with a nosebleed. How is your DD now?

@NoCheesesForUsMeeces, I have found them very good actually. I had an item mixed up once. Couriers fault. Vinted refunded quickly.

I'm very careful what I buy, and occasionally we get something that doesn't fit. But 99% of the time it's a success.

Almost all of DH's wardrobe is vinted now.

The trick is to buy very carefully.

Mixed success selling. Lego goes fast. Scarves seem to sell well. As do cook books. My sister has done brilliantly with kids clothes.

WreckTangled · 07/03/2024 11:12

The duvet did not survive. The machine couldn’t cope and I flooded the floor when I took it out. Will have to buy a new one later today. Dd isn’t great and her bp is quite high. Have emailed her consultant for advice.

It was so sunny at home but it’s all cloudy in Brighton. Yuck.

Spencer0220 · 07/03/2024 11:47

Oh dear! Hope DD feels better soon

Duvets are a 'mare to wash , even if you can cram them in the machine it'll throw a strop and not spin it .
My DS and DD have 7.5 tog Supremely Washable King Sized which do fit in my WM ( it's a 10kg) otherwise it's off to the laundrette (costs ££ but saves the wear on my machine )

I've just run the gauntlett of helping DS declutter in his ManPit ( I think he's a bit hoarder-ey like my Mum so I'm trying to stave off the urge he has to keep things he really doesn't need )

I bought some Montezumas Peanut Butter Mini Eggs ( they are very nice ) to try .
Also like Christmas when a taste test of mince pies is essential till you find the right ones ( FYI , it;s Sainsbury Bakery Shortcrust pack of 4 . You're welcome ) we're sampling our way through Hot Cross Buns .
Current ( or currant ) pack is Asda Extra Special mini fruited Hot Cross Buns , then we have Sainsbury Taste the Difference . Had Sainsbury Bakery last week .
No clear winner yet ....but it is very nice trying them Xmas Grin

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 08/03/2024 14:31

70 I can recommend the Tesco Finest St. Clements HCBs. Very nice.

Oooh . I don't go for any new fangled flavours ( no Chocolate or Salted Caramel , or Apple&Cinnamon and certainly no Triple Chocolate or Cheese&Chilli Envy <not envy .
But St Clements would go very nice with lemon curd

I don't have butter on mine , don't like it .

If I'm as fussy as this looks , then I should bake my own Easter Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 09/03/2024 08:04

Morning!

I'm in 70's traditional HCB camp. 😁 I might try the St Clement's one though, as I've a tenner voucher to spend in Tesco from my dog walking app, so might as well have some free ones.

I have to walk the dog soon. Thankfully he stays in bed a bit later at the weekend! 🐕🐕

I can report that the Sainsbury TTD were bland (Bakery ones were nicer)
Asda ones were heavy

Might try M&S next and if I can get there Waitrose are on the To-Try List

Spencer0220 · 09/03/2024 10:41

@NoWordForFluffy, what a considerate dog you have!

We like the Sainsbury's gluten free hot cross buns, although compared to regular ones they are probably nowhere near as tasty.

Being coeliac can be a real challenge. But thankfully it's getting better. We cook a lot from scratch anyway. We always have.

DH is going to collect his new glasses later. I'm excited to see them. He's gone for purple. I've decided not to go along as the weather is naff and I don't want to bring half the mud in town back on my wheels.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/03/2024 15:54

If my memory serves me right I'm sure FluffyDog was once referred to as a Little Ginger Shit so not as considerate as he likes to make out Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 09/03/2024 16:44

He was, 70. And still is at times! 🐕😩🤣

DD said the Cats haven't bought me a card so they'll just "cuckoo" her card and sign it too .

I'm doing a loaf in the Panasonic for fresh bread for nice toast .
Sunday Dinner will be an M&S in-the-oven (DD has volunteered ) but I will do chips or roast potatoes

Spencer0220 · 10/03/2024 04:12

My guinea pigs bought me a card. And beautiful flowers 💐

Have DM coming for dinner tonight. Roasted salmon and mashed potatoes, per her request. She's been dying to try DH's roasted salmon for months.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/03/2024 10:03

We just had salmon with scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast. 😋

Not sure what's for dinner yet. Something with lots of veg as stock control went wrong this week! 🙈🤣

OP posts:
Spencer0220 · 10/03/2024 10:33

Ooh that sounds like a LOVELY breakfast. I'm jealous. Mine was toast and cheddar. I think we're doing a Sainsbury's shop tonight for the morning. I'll see if there's any smoked salmon at a good price.

Ooh I love loads of vegetables!

NoWordForFluffy · 10/03/2024 11:12

We somehow have a freezer full of yellow label smoked salmon. My DH seemingly can't walk past reduced salmon without buying it. 🤣🤣

I'm having a super-rare lazy day today. I did the weekend housework yesterday, so I can sit and cross stitch today!

OP posts:
Spencer0220 · 10/03/2024 11:31

I didn't realise smoked salmon froze well.

What are you cross stitching?

NoWordForFluffy · 10/03/2024 11:51

It freezes well, yes.

I'm doing this one. I only started last week, so a long way to go!
