It's a leap year next year, so an extra day to wait!

I've ordered 120 baubles today, as WeRChristmas sent me a 50% code for today only. Annoyingly I could get our new tree way cheaper today! 😭

I'm exhausted now I've finally had time to sit and relax. Tomorrow is a chill day.

Morning. Day 1 of half term and I'm already jealous of DH and his time off.

Relatively quiet work day today as a lot of people have booked time off so I'm going to try and do a few bits that I've been putting off.

Also, there are glimpses of blue sky outside so, assuming the weather doesn't turn too badly, I'm going to try and get a walk done on my lunch break.

WoogleCone · 12/02/2024 22:00

Have fallen down a table setting rabbit hole.....whoops!
Is Temu actually legit? Got some cute little mini stockings that im fancying instead of making crackers this year. Im super sceptical 😅

WoogleCone · 12/02/2024 22:03

I spun a wheel and its offered 100% off for the cute stockings if i download the app. Will it steal my soul? Feels so scammy 🙈🙈

Schneekugel · 12/02/2024 22:11

Your soul may be fine, your bank account I'm unsure about. There's also your health to consider, from the potentially toxic chemicals these super cheap firms sometimes use and your conscience, regarding the pay and conditions of those making the items which a company can afford to sell for nothing. Temu is not a scam in the sense that they do exist and will probably send you something. I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole myself but I've seen people on YouTube who have 🤷

WoogleCone · 12/02/2024 22:28

Thank you @Schneekugel - consider it avoided. 🥳

Etsy, im coming for you!

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 12/02/2024 22:31

I would add to the caution Woogle. My sister ordered a few bits off Temu and while she did receive items, none were what she was expecting (a teddy bear that was the right size for a Barbie instead of full size, a lamp that didn't work etc). And absolutely no response when she tried to contact them.
I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable putting my bank details in their website.

I've had a nice evening. DH came back from the food shopping and told me he'd bought my valentines present early (we don't usually do presents).
I was a bit surprised considering he'd only been to Sainsburys but he clearly knows me very well because I was presented with 2 mini rose plants (one white, one pink) and a few pots of 'just sprouting' daffodil bulbs Grin

Going to bed now and hoping for decent sleep 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Schneekugel · 12/02/2024 22:57

That's lovely of DH Meeces.

I'm sure you'll find something nice and non-scammy on Etsy Woogle.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 13/02/2024 10:41

316 Happy Pancake Day!

It's very grey and wet here which is annoying as DH wanted to go for a hike and I wanted him out of the house for a few hours.

I have a fairly busy work day planned, then DH is going out and my mum is coming for tea. Hoping to have a good 2 hours between dm leaving and DH coming home so I can crochet and get some proper progress on the Christmas blanket as I'm not doing that well so far 🙄

NoWordForFluffy · 13/02/2024 11:00

Morning!

Our Christmas booze collection started today, as 1L Bailey's is £13 in Sainsbury's, so we spent some Nectar points and got two bottles!

I'm off work today. I've prepped the curry for dinner and hoovered the kitchen so far (since walking the dog). I need to shower still, then put a mountain of clean washing away. Where the hell does it all come from?!

I think your DH should've gone anyway, Meeces! 🤣

OP posts:
NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 13/02/2024 11:33

He's gone for a walk now so I'll get a good 2 hours I think, but he had to abandon the hike as the clouds make the mountain path he was planning too dangerous. Annoying but he's out!

We've been sorting out our dresser cupboard downstairs which is where we store booze and over the weekend I found 2 bottles of Buck's Fizz (one normal, one M&S nice one). God knows when I bought them and they def won't last until Christmas.
How do you keep your Christmas booze until Christmas Fluffy?

WoogleCone · 13/02/2024 17:46

Thanks @Schneekugel ended up with these from etsy, cant wait to see them all printed up 🥰

If that bottle of Baileys came to my house no way it'd last til Christmas haha @NoWordForFluffy I am saving up the nectar points though, £27 so far. Im still seething they dont do the double up thing anymore though, between me and DH one year we scored £120 in free wine and it was just the best.

Fingers crossed for your crochet time @NoCheesesForUsMeeces i havent managed to touch my crafty stuff for over a week 😭 need to get the halloween bits out of the way then can find some nice chunky Christmas yarn.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/02/2024 18:05

We have a lot of willpower, you two! And if I've spent points on it, it's a definite no go. 🤣🤣

I have £175 in points, which makes me twitchy as I don't like to go below £200. The lack of Double Up annoys me too.

Oh that's gorgeous Woogle 😻

NoWordForFluffy · 14/02/2024 14:18

It's an exciting day in the Fluffy household today if you're old and sad like me, that is as DH is putting the two extra kitchen cabinets up. This means I can finally sort the kitchen cupboards properly and have some semblance of order in there!

It started wet today, but is now dry. Which means the washing is out! #optimistic

Hope the cabinets are safely up @NoWordForFluffy !

Spencer0220 · 15/02/2024 03:11

Hi all,

Plodding along.

Is it too early to start making lists of gift ideas? I won't buy yet.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 15/02/2024 07:58

314 Morning.
Sounds like a very productive Valentine's Day Fluffy!

Spencer I keep a running list on my phone all year around of present ideas for the people I buy for. My only warning would be if the list is for any adults, remember to update it and remove anything they buy for themselves along the way.

I did an office day yesterday then DH came into the city to meet me and take me for a nice steak dinner. It was more effort than we usually make but it was nice to go out.

Today is a boring one. Work, walk, cold dip and crocheting essentially.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/02/2024 08:04

It wasn't. He started too late so didn't get it done. Which is a common fucking theme round these parts. 😡

We have a cupboard with no door so far. One more cupboard and two doors to go! 😩🙄

Wet start here. Soggy dog walk (areas which look a little damp, then you stand in them and they're 2+ inches deep!). The dog has conjunctivitis too, so I'm £75 lighter after his vet trip! 😭

My dh is the same fluffy. Thinks he can get a,b,c.d,e AND f all done in one day but spends so much time fannying about he barely makes a and b.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 15/02/2024 13:47

Ah. Here we have the 'I have plenty of time because I've got a week off' which leads to running around trying to get it done at the last possible moment 😡
Example here is car shopping. DH was meant to check what is available, get prices etc so we could test drive some through the week but instead he's spent most of today going from garage to garage looking because we're going away for the weekend tomorrow so this is the last day he has to do it.

Hope the dog is ok Fluffy

DH makes fannying about an art form! Makes you wonder how building works get done for other people really! 🤷‍♀️

What kind of car do you fancy, Meeces?

We are leaning towards a Juke Fluffy. There are some great deals on them near here.

When it comes to jobs around the house, I sometimes ask my dad to do them if DH is taking too long. It annoys DH no end but it kicks him up the arse to get going Grin

Hi all,

Plodding along.

I have a hardback book with Christmas scrawled artistically on the from by me with Tippex*

*other correction fluids are available .
It is very handy to scribble random things as I think of them.

What I've bought (The Snowman looroll)
What I need to buy
What to avoid next year

Never too early Xmas Grin

There's a car section somewhere on here meeces and Nissan Jukes are universally hated !

I bought mine five years ago , I went to the dealers (I've had Nissans my last four cars) and said I don't like the Juke . They persuaded me to test drive and I changed my mind Xmas Grin
It's a funny looking little beast and my tall DS complains if he has to sit in the back that his head hits the roof (he has enough leg room though)

We play Spot-The-Juke there are millions of them round our way ( my DD says there;s a factory churning them out)

The newer ones look less rounded , more angular .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/02/2024 21:45

DH painted the back room which is 10'x10; with one wall an open squared arch (used to be patio doors before extension) and a door in one wall.
I bought paint samples and the final choice of paint .
He said oh a couple of days
It took a week

He did the ceiling and covings but no glosswork .

He did our bedroom a couple of years back , it was completely empty except a mattress , I blocked that out .
