It's a leap year next year, so an extra day to wait!

I've ordered 120 baubles today, as WeRChristmas sent me a 50% code for today only. Annoyingly I could get our new tree way cheaper today! 😭

I'm exhausted now I've finally had time to sit and relax. Tomorrow is a chill day.

It was one of those dog walks where there are hidden puddles, so my feet got very wet indeed. The dog loves leaping in the huge puddles though, so he had a whale of a time! 🐕 ☔️

Hi everyone :)

Been a (literal) crappy week here, DH and DD2 got a sickness bug at the weekend, i got it while away for work and DD1 as i got back. Been like a whole weeks hangover haha!
Back to work tonight though!

On the Christmas front though, my playmobil order arrived so DD2 has an advent calendar and another set for her birthday in May. First gift ✅️

Hope everyone has a great weekend 😊

belgiumchocolates · 09/02/2024 18:49

Evening everyone, checking in for a bit of respite after a tough week at work, I'm getting too old for it 😂

Hope everyone and their pets are ok and surviving the weather.

I've been exchanging emails with House of Fraser because the Christmas mug part of my sale haul was broken and they said no to replacing ,but sent me a free next day delivery code . Trouble is the item is not a next day delvery item so I can't apply it. What a palaver 🤔anyone is welcome to try the code if they are ordering a next day delivery item from HOF let me know.

belgiumchocolates · 09/02/2024 18:53

Great playmobile news @WoogleCone !

fallenover · 09/02/2024 19:25

I just spotted these on WhistleFish

Children's Make Your Own Christmas Cards - (perfect for stashing away with the snowman loo rolls and paper towel). Also some nice Christmas cards and note sets in their sale.

I need to keep up with this thread!

My teens last year got microwave mug cake kits in their stocking we got them from baked in but they've now closed. I saw the Dr oetker version in Lidl this week 49p each so got a couple, date is into 2025.

Surely if the mug was broken they should at least refund?

Then you can reorder one as desired?

belgiumchocolates · 09/02/2024 20:03

Yes sorry they have refunded @Spencer0220 as they said they can't risk sending replacement in case the same thing happens again.

But they were able to send me a free delievry code so that I could reorder if I wanted to, which I do , but unfortunately it's not valid as the item does not qualify for next day delivery .

So I have mixed feelings about the HOF customer service, one one hand they have refunded and tried to assist with reorder, but it hasn't worked out. The long and short of it is that their packaging is rubbish, bags not boxes, so fragile items are a risk .

On the plus side Rex London brilliant bits I can save for stocking fillers for next Christmas or use for kids party gifts throughout the year Xmas Wink

belgiumchocolates · 09/02/2024 20:08

I'm tempted to open Snowman loo roll to cheer me up, its still in corner of room 🤔

Spencer0220 · 09/02/2024 21:47

@belgiumchocolates what a bloody mess!!

If HOF won't resend, I wouldn't reorder and try and find similar elsewhere!!

Go on open the loo roll. 😉

Into the three hundred and teens Xmas Grin

I made a batch of Martha Stewart Chewy and Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies (as I'm a Domestic Goddess obvs) I had some Costco own brand swiss chocolate (dark) hanging about in a jar since Christmas

DH and I were going to go up That Larndarn but it was tipping down and I could sense that he wasn't thrilled at the thought of going along Oxford Street so we went to the local shops and went into shops that we avoid at weekends .

NoWordForFluffy · 10/02/2024 07:31

Morning!

Those cookies sound nice, 70. I'm guessing a recipe using cups as measurements!

I'm walking the dog soon. Thankfully dry today!

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/02/2024 10:17

Yes , it uses cups (which I do have thankfully or I'd need to look up and convert the weights )

I had to look up "Stick of butter" and "AP flour"

DS likes Millies Cookies but we don't have one local so if I'm near one I might buy a couple .
But they are soft to the point of raw Xmas Envy

Martha Stewart ones are far superior .Just need to watch like a hawk in the oven.

I might do some white chocolate ones for Easter .

I bought this to go at the top of the stairs in the corner .
I'm calling it as a hare not a bunny .

I reckon @NoWordForFluffy has been taken for a walk by FluffyPup and now going home the veeerrryy long way

It is quite spring like here if you overlook the waterlogged lawns though ours has drunk it all up (or the drainage has done its bit) . We had a soakaway put in when we had the garden done .

NoWordForFluffy · 11/02/2024 13:21

Ha, kind of!

We didn't get up until 7.40, then took a while to exit the house. I also walked jogged 😩 with him for a bit longer than usual, so we did 7.4km in just under 70 mins (lots of sniff, puddle and wee stops involved!).

Then, once back, I had to get my arse into gear as I failed to clean the bathrooms / toilet / woodwork yesterday, so needed to get it done today. Plus dusting and cleaning the dog's nose prints from the French doors in the lounge, as well as hoovering the kitchen. Now I've caught up with myself, I'm sitting down. 😊

Sounds like a fun walk Fluffy!

Love the hare 70

It's been a day of 2 halves here. Was up at 8, did the sauna and cold dip thing, then home to do housework.
Have finally shifted the chair that the new sofa replaced so the room looks bigger now.
Have done washing, kitchen, polishing and downstairs floors while DH helped my dad heft furniture around in his new house.
Then out for a nice lunch (treat from dad for our help) and this afternoon is chilled - watching rugby, crocheting and online shopping for nice light shades for our bedroom (without spending ££££).

NoWordForFluffy · 11/02/2024 16:46

Have you chosen some lampshades, Meeces? I now have as many as I need, thankfully!

I decided last weekend to mop the floors as we go to bed, so they have time to dry before we need to walk on them again. It seemed to work well, so that'll be what I do from now on. It only takes 10 minutes really, so it's not too bad.

OP posts:
NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 11/02/2024 18:44

Not yet. We currently have one light in our bedroom and it's rubbish.
Our bedroom is quite long so we're changing it to have 2 lights, same as the living room below so we need 2 light shades.

Am torn between buying the same one as the spare room and putting them in there, or going for something completely different.
I love glass shades but some are pricey, especially as we'll have to buy 2 of them.

belgiumchocolates · 11/02/2024 18:49

Hi everyone, hope you've had a good weekend.

I should definately have done more cleaning @NoWordForFluffy , the best intentions and all that but time seems to fly by

Managed to get for a swim and dog walks x 3 then the day has suddenly gone 😂

I bought cookie ingredients inspired by @70isaLimitNotaTarget and have watched Martha's video but that's as far as I got 😬

On the Christmas front I am slightly obsessed with The Snowman theme, ordered PJ's for DGC and a party pack including paper plates , napkins etc from amazon Xmas Wink

belgiumchocolates · 11/02/2024 18:58

Hope you get your bedroom lights sorted @NoCheesesForUsMeeces , go for something you love

WreckTangled · 11/02/2024 18:59

I’m so tired. Haven’t really done much today apart from the food shopping. Sitting room is a mess but the kitchen was blitzed yesterday at least. Half term next week, I’m only off one day though.

I have today and tomorrow off, so later start. I'm walking the dog soon (he's moaning at me right now). Might take the kids for PI breakfast, as I did promise, so that needs to happen either today or tomorrow!

I am currently in bed with my heated cushion on my back. I got up a while ago to get my son up for work as he does not hear alarms going off. May have a snooze for a bit. I wanted to see if I can get a Dr's appointment but not sure why I thought it would be possible on a Monday 😂

Matalan are selling Elsa and Harry Potter dress up for £5 today. First come first served!
