It's a leap year next year, so an extra day to wait!

I've ordered 120 baubles today, as WeRChristmas sent me a 50% code for today only. Annoyingly I could get our new tree way cheaper today! 😭

I'm exhausted now I've finally had time to sit and relax. Tomorrow is a chill day.

Afternoon!

How was the roast, Meeces? We still have goose fat in the fridge. And frozen roasties in the freezer! Hmmmm. 🤔🤔

I got my HoF order today, so have definitely got enough wrapping paper to last until I die now! 🤣

Just for 70, here is the magnificent Ted with Dusty!

We're in the yellow warning zone for snow. It's raining. Obvs.

It's raining here as well and forecast for the whole day.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 08/02/2024 09:56

Morning. Non stop rain here all day too.

Dm survived her cold dip (she swore like a sailor though 😂) and the roast was awesome. Yorkers came out perfectly and the gravy was 🤌🏻

Fluffy I bought wrapping paper in a sale last summer and when I got all of it out in December realised I'd also bought some in the January sales AND have plenty left from the year before and I did the same with cards so don't need any more for a long time Xmas Blush

I don't get the Ted & Dusty reference, sorry!

70 I'm easing DH into winter bedding. We bought a brushed cotton set year before last (just grey and white tartan) and last year I threw a Christmas cushion on.
This Christmas I'm hoping to get away with a stag or Robin set or something (I have a hare set for spring and flowers and butterflies for summer so it's 'on theme')...

belgium I have a lovely nutcracker draught excluder. Was bought from Shaws just before they closed. Pretty sure I saw some nice ones in Dunelm last year (or if you can sew/have a machine, they're easy to make from a pillow case.

I have an online training seminar thing today. 3 hours 😳 but I can be camera off so have my yarn and 'fairy lights' ready so will be working on that for some of it.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/02/2024 10:20

@NoCheesesForUsMeeces, see photo attached re Ted!

Hurrah for training which means you can do something else!

Ted's USP (apart from his snazzy clothes) was his nifty finger trickery of 3-2-1 twisting his hand round so he didn't do any sweary gestures -we were sensitive flowers in the early 80s Xmas Grin Actually that;s a big fat lie, some 80s comedies and programmes you think How on EARTH did this get airtime ..?

I bought a tea towel with hares for Easter . I'm not a fan of rabbits but hares are something to behold .

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 08/02/2024 17:39

Ted & Dusty was before my time - I was 2/3 when it was cancelled. Sorry!

70 my MIL gets a lot of hares around where she lives (she's out in the country, amongst a lot of farmland) and I agree, they're gorgeous so I love my hare bedding.

I managed to complete 3 squares of my blanket. The training was a bit more interesting than I expected so I didn't get as much done as I wanted.
I'm not convinced by the shape of the bulbs but I'm going to do a whole row then decide.

Yes same here !My DS took the delivery .
DH looked at the box (it had something like four tier spice rack on it )

"What have you been buying"? he mutters .
I think he was quite relieved it was loo roll Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 08/02/2024 20:51

Yes! Mine was a spice rack box too. I was momentarily baffled about what I'd ordered. Xmas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/02/2024 23:02

Weird Xmas Grin
Is it because no-one would deliver The Snowman loo roll in February or they like to play havoc with our minds .......

Schneekugel · 09/02/2024 01:53

The bulb crochet is great.

I've got Pegasus, elephants and flowers bedding. Not especially Christmasey but better than plain white.

Spencer0220 · 09/02/2024 02:02

Is this a countdown thread? Can I join.

Bit confused and very tired. Sorry.

Schneekugel · 09/02/2024 02:05

Yes it is Spencer and I guess so. I'm new too and they seem friendly.

I think they were trying to put the postie off the scent, 70! 🤣 And peri-brained me.

Hi Spencer!

Wet here. About to take the dog out. Joy!

Wet here too. Rained all day yesterday. I’m going to the gym when I’ve finished my coffee then I need to pop into work to get some bits signed off. Last day of half term for ds.

Spencer0220 · 09/02/2024 07:05

It's drained rat weather here. DH got soaked yesterday going to the Amazon locker. We try not to get parcels delivered here because of thieves.

At what point do I confess that my mum's Mother's Day gift is going to be delivered there this morning?

A huge wheel of nuts.
