I know there’s one every year and I appreciate some people find it distasteful but if that’s you, please just look away. I know so many people love it and I want to see all your fridges!! I have to go to waitrose tonight and then have meat being delivered on Friday so will post mine then🎄

@Fivetoomany I'm well jealous of your snack trolley!

Not hosting this year. Drinks in the utility. It's quite polite.

I think I initiated this thread years ago (many years ago) because I'm a nosy bugger. It was only during the pandemic that naysayers appeared. I almost enjoy the negative posters more than the fridges now.

I guarantee that all of the tone deaf posters have full fridges and for some reason like to police others, because it makes them feel good.

Just as a full Christmas fridge makes other people feel good.

The thing that the tone deaf posters neglect to realise is that many people enjoy having a full fridge at Christmas is because they may not have had one growing up, or may not have one regularly and have saved up for the full Christmas fridge, so it brings much joy.

What size is your gammon, @Fiscus?! Ours is 2.3kg and tiny in comparison to that!

Hermione101 · 23/12/2023 20:02

It’s just the 3 of us this year, but we do a traditional Eastern European Christmas with fish and vegetable sides on the 24th and DP cooks a traditional British one on the 25th. Also the usual cheese and other bits.

I reckon you’re right.

I'm alone for Christmas so no giant Christmas meal. Got some treats though and I'm making a sausage and mash pie
Sainsbury's gave me all my chilled stuff twice so it's a bit full

@christmaspawpaws I'm alone for Christmas dinner too 🙂I've decided to have all the bits I like best - so some chicken, stuffing, bread sauce and bubble and squeak. Really looking forward to it!

Jesus Christ one pack of celery is torture let alone two 😜

CICTGIGF · 23/12/2023 20:30

@RainbowZebraWarrior your fridge is amazing both in its size and how well stocked it is! I love it.
How many people are you hosting?

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 23/12/2023 20:37

asterixa I find it a little disturbing that your milk is looking at me with its bright blue eyes.

christmaspawpaws · 23/12/2023 20:46

@userxx my confession is I don't actually like it BlushGrin but I cook stuff like cottage pie and lasagne and it tastes better with it in. Do wish you could buy just one stick though

Nochoiceleft · 23/12/2023 20:54

I’m too lazy to get up and take a photo of mine but it is nicely full.
All I could be bothered to make for tea this evening was a cheese sandwich 😂

I do feel like I may be missing out on milk and cream though, looking at all these fridges. I have one pint of milk and no cream.

WhimsicalMoth · 23/12/2023 20:54

Here is mine. The freezer is more exciting. Myself and my partner exited the traditional Christmas dinner realm last year, and instead just did a huge spread of all the lovely festive party foods and nibbles (with meats and cheese of course)
We do a slow cooked gammon to have, usually on a nice crusty roll. It's the best part of the day 😍 we call it "snackmas"

Well actually what was going to be a disappointing Christmas has actually improved with the realisation that I have not one, not two but three Christmas fridges at my disposal!
My daughter was due to move next door to me and host our family Christmas which I was really looking forward to for a change but things haven't gone to plan and the house won't be ready until early next year.
However she's got a big American style fridge in there in working order so I realised earlier today it can be used for all the party food for Christmas night plus defrosting frozen stuff leaving room in my house for my 'drinks Fridge' - a very very old but trusty cold fridge and my built in warmer normal style fridge.
Silver linings and all that

Poppins17 · 23/12/2023 21:39

No fridge photo from me, but I’m making a fruit salad with my strawberries on Boxing Day… I’ve got papaya, mango, kiwi, pomegranate seeds, clementines, grapes and blueberries too ☺️

YorkieTheRabbit · 23/12/2023 22:17

5-6kg I think. It's a half ham, bone in.

Glitterybee · 23/12/2023 22:40

Almost full! Going to M&S and Asda tomorrow (again) for bits that I couldn’t get today

Didn’t even realise, now it’s all I see when I open the fridge! @PelvicFloorClenchReminder

Becsim · 23/12/2023 23:30

Love everyone’s Christmas fridges! I wish we had a bigger fridge. We have drinks in the garage (hopefully chilled).

Here is ours 🙂

SIL is cooking Christmas lunch so we’ve not had to do/buy anything for that.

We are having friends over for Boxing Day (22 in total) so the alcohol and veg is currently being stored in the summer (game) house.

For that I’m keeping it very low key and easy and making slow cooked pork and stuffing baps and a slow cooker chicken curry.

And if you’d haven’t tried this cheese it’s a MUST.

Here's ours. There's a turkey crown and smallish gammon hidden behind at the bottom. And a smelly Camembert ds got in his Xmas hamper from work.
Had some pastry in there yesterday and when rolling it out to make mince pies last night there was a distinct whiff of cheese! I think the smell had permeated into the pastry.
Oh well, I'll wait to see if anyone mentions it when they eat the cheesy mince pies 🤣

@asterixa they look like they're in need of a bikini to me 🤭

Don’t want to derail but I apologise for my comments earlier in the thread. I was being a virtue signalling asshole and on reflection I can see it’s harmless fun. Sorry.
