What are people getting their DHs?

We’re not doing ‘big presents’ but I need to get him some things or he gets nothing. I’d still spend a £100.

He doesn’t drink, he buys what he needs. He doesn’t need clothes. The only hobby thing I could get in (genuinely outing, it’s not cycling) would be incredibly expensive. He doesn’t read books, he never watches the DVDs I get him.

Im lost. Can I hear what others have gotten for some ideas?

Ohh I never know what to buy either,
Flying lesson
Hardcore tool box
Race track day
Skydiving

LeggyLegsEleven · 10/12/2023 19:51

I should also say he has some health issues so no extreme stuff unfortunately. Maybe 20 years ago. I don’t think he would even enjoy driving fast these days.
If we didn’t have an autistic teen who won’t be left I would get tickets for something but it’s hard to make plans.

My DP is similar. I got some good ideas from the "upgrading what he already has" thread and got a laptop bag and new stationary to go with it for when he goes to meetings, all his current stuff is branded from a company he doesnt work for any more! His stocking is all snacks and fancier versions of drinks (not alcoholic) in cute bottles or tins.

Ex DH

IcouldbutIdontwantto · 10/12/2023 20:01

I've got my DH:
Pair of jeans
Reusable coffee cup
A big pot of his favourite chocolates
Digital photo frame

Chrispackhamspoodle · 10/12/2023 20:02

Mine needs more of his cologne which is £60.He needs a new washbag so I got him one and I got him a set of dominoes as we used to play it with our mates in the pub in our 20s.He's made a hint about a book my DD will get him.

OctoblocksAssemble · 10/12/2023 20:02

Final Fantasy 7 Cloud polygon figure 😆

Lemonademoney · 10/12/2023 20:04

Im struggling this year - have upgraded/replaced a few of his well loved items. Last year the big hits were a yeti travel cup (used daily, he loves it) and a voucher from a burger company in Cornwall to deliver their bestselling kit on a date of his choice, I wanted to do the same this year but they’ve stopped doing the kits annoyingly. I’m considering a meal voucher as we rarely get to go out but it feels likes it’s for us rather than just him so am hesistating a bit.

I've got my DH a new dressing gown and a meat carving set (both things he's been complaining about the ones we have but wouldn't entertain spending money on new or more pricey versions).
We usually just gift each other some spending money tbh because that's what we've always done.

Smarshian · 10/12/2023 20:08

I have got DH:
a coffee pod machine for work so he can save himself from instant,
some new aftershave,
chocolate,
socks,
tickets to a comedy gig.

Friendfoe1 · 10/12/2023 20:22

Edited

I read this as cat flap😄😄😄

DreamingInPhosphorescence · 10/12/2023 20:29

I have no idea, and neither does he. If all else fails it will be a bottle of single malt, which I know will be appreciated.

43ontherocksporfavor · 10/12/2023 20:31

I guess you have a cat mindset with that name @mewkins 🐈

Aw. I forget that my username is after my lovely cat who died a few years ago. I'd love another (and indeed still have the cat flap!)

CoodleMoodle · 10/12/2023 20:37

DH is getting:
Snuddie
T-shirt
Small Lego set (from DS)
Book (from DD)
Jigsaw
Big bar of Dairy Milk

43ontherocksporfavor · 10/12/2023 20:37

Early Christmas present @mewkins ????

Ilovelurchers · 10/12/2023 20:39

The main thing I got mine was a £50 Just Eat voucher as he loves a takeaway sometimes!

Also a few bits such as:

Woolen beanie hats
Car cleaning stuff - a few different things for cleaning different parts of it, such as this sticky putty type stuff that cleans the steering wheel - all a bit pointless probably but still....
Hand cream
Some silly bits of lingerie that I will wear but he will hopefully also enjoy!

Early Christmas present @mewkins ????

It would be my ds's ideal gift. 😄

43ontherocksporfavor · 10/12/2023 20:52

Go for it!

LadyGwendoline · 10/12/2023 20:59

I’ve got mine chocolates from the children and from me - a painting of a place my DH loves.

toomuchfaster · 10/12/2023 20:59

A t-shirt with a specific quote on that he's been dropping hints for, also got DD a matching one!
A book he bought already with Xmas in mind
A car dehumidifier
His favourite beer x several bottles - must make sure I wrap all of them!
DD has got his favourite chocolates and painted him a picture

Sugarfree23 · 10/12/2023 21:05

Here to nick any bright ideas 💡

So far I have oodie, soft shell, which kind of ticks off the big things, but I need little bits for him. And he's got a birthday too.
