I'm hosting Christmas this year with both sides of our family attending. I've been planning the menu for Christmas lunch and never realised before how many options there are for dessert! No idea how I'm going to make the decision.... So, I'm curious to know, what do you have for dessert after your Christmas lunch / dinner?

Christmas Pudding
Yule Log
Mince Pies
Traditional Christmas Cake
Alternative Christmas Cake (not fruit cake!)
Something else - let me know what you have!

If you have something else - let me know what you go for as I'm looking for some inspo 😇

Pretty much all of the above.

We host every year and we've got;
Yule log
Trifle
Christmas pudding
An individual slice of Christmas cake that I bought because I'm not making a whole one for the one person who likes it
Orange jelly flan (MIL's speciality, it's 70's to the bone but actually delicious)
Mince pies but they don't count as pudding
Sucky toffee pudding.

We've got custard, ice cream, cream and brandy cream to go with.

It might have been suggested that I over cater, but I really don't care, I love it.

Just Ferrero Rocher and Quality Street!

Wide awake here so may as well join in- we've got a Christmas Ice Cream cake from a local company- very excited to try it!!

This year we have Chocolate Log or Egg Nog Trifle. There are also mince pies available and we have a cheeses board. Generally we eat this about 90 mins after main meal as we are so full

This year there will be a choice of home Made sticky toffee pud, (bought) meringue roulade or viennetta. The vienetta is because DC thinks it’s fancy!

That’s because it is fancy!!! 😂

Hope you had a lovely Christmas. Just wanted to comment that I am dismayed to learn Black Forest gateaux isn’t a traditional pud 😂

This year we've had black forest profiteroles. Last year I did gingerbread cheesecake. I do something different every year, and also offer Xmas pudding which nobody ever wants on the day.

Usually lemon tart and meringues. I buy wee individual Christmas puddings for my dad.

Trifle. It’s the law.

Tipsy cake.

For dessert we offer Yule log and pudding. Mince pies and Christmas cake we offer with tea later on in the evening and then eat them with tea/coffee throughout the Christmas period. We also offer a selection of brandy butter and clotted cream. Usually brandy butter with the pudding and clotted cream with Yule log.

Well we didn’t eat dinner until 6pm for various reasons and were very full so didn’t want dessert then and remembered tiramisu in the fridge at 10pm and not many takers by then so we divided it up so everyone could take some home!

We had individual vegan trifles similar to this recipe

schoolnightvegan.com/home/vegan-trifle/

Yule log and ice cream or cream for the children or anyone not wanting a trifle and some soft baked gingerbread biscuits and butter biscuits with jam for anyone wanting a small taste of something sweet.

the last couple of years, I’ve made a bread & butter pudding using a brioche loaf - and it’s all been gone by the end of the day!
