It doesn't make the water bubbly or fizzy.

It's also important to note that they aren't 'flavours' They don't flavour the water in any way. They create a sort of 'scent ring' around the top of the bottle, thus creating a slight whiff of whatever 'flavour' you're using as you take a drink. It's just water you are drinking though and doesn't taste of anything.

I don't know if this will make him or you feel differently about them. I tried to explain to DD that they in no way flavour the water. She still wanted one. And she was disappointed when she actually finally realised that they really don't flavour the water. She stopped using it after about a month (obviously you can still use them as water bottles / can put juice in etc) disillusioned with the concept.
