@pasinphoebe also worth bearing in mind if it does come back into stock at Very like @WhyDoesItAlways suggested if you open a credit account you can get 20% off.

DS asked for the Jurassic World Lego which was £120 and I got it for less than £60 with a deal and then 20% off

Longchamps bag
Glossier, Pixi, The Ordinary, Mario Badescu skincare

Hoping for some ideas!

DS3's school backpack has had a burst zip. It's one with gamer controllers all over it- blue/red. I got it in TK Maxx in summer- matching lunch box & pencil case. He's very upset. He's using an older one at the minute, but looking to replace it.

I bought the 'Gamer' one from Smiggle the other day £25 instead of £42 ( no way would I have paid that!). It's a decent match but the Smiggle branding is so obvious & I don't want him getting teased. He's 11, has ASN (autism/ adhd so emotionally & socially much younger despite being academically able) so it wouldn't bother him, it's just the other kids I worry about, especially as he'll want to use it for secondary.

Any ideas for a more grown up gamer backpack, or do I just buy a Nike/Adidas/ North Face so he fits in?

It's so hard as he gets older.

Couple of Jo malone candles on tkmaxx just now £44.99 rrp £56

fishfingersandchipsagain · 09/12/2023 22:28

@Puffalicious do you want to try to get the same one? You could photograph it, reverse image search it, and see if it’s still available somewhere.

Nestnearlyempty · 09/12/2023 22:32

There’s also PlayStation branded ones at Debenhams and next eg https://www.next.co.uk/style/ST037396/T63892

I’m really late asking but does anyone have a hotel chocolat code at all?

@Frozenhobby

If you can't find a promo code Laithwaites do HC stuff ... if you use a referral code you would get £40 off a £80 spend. Mines on the referral board if you wanted to try

Puffalicious · 09/12/2023 23:39

I had missed this one in my search & think it's probably a decent shout. I suppose I think if Debenhams are selling it, it'll be decent quality. That's why I went with Smiggle, as I'm sick of zips/ material bursting.

He's a Nintendo player, and they're harder to find. But this one is cheap enough I won't be devastated if he decides it's too young by secondary school- it can be given to younger cousins.

Thank you.

Can anyone recommend some lovely hand cream, ideally boxed or as a gift set, around the £15 mark? For my 65 year old MIL

Ah I'm looking too! My almost 4 year old has completely changed his mind and the toy I bought (in sept!) for him he no longer wants-instead he wants something twice the cost...and he told Santa yesterday and apparently wrote it on his nursery Xmas list Confused

I got some Joules hand cream last year in a gift set. It was a flowery smell and excellent quality with a lovely feel and smell. And my sensitive hands didn’t react which surprised me as it is very scented- but in a good way. It was from a Boots set but I reckon any joules stuff would be similar…

I think I remember on here a few people recommended drawing boards that have a button to clear the screen, they looked like an ipad? Any recommendations for specific ones please?

winewolfhowls · 10/12/2023 07:52

For the bag it might be best to buy a plain one and then you could add patches?
Fashion bags never last as long as real rucksacks. Go outdoors usually have a good selection and better deals in store if you're near one.

How are people getting the Argos codes? Does anyone have a spare, looking at £50 spend. Thanks.

MamaClausToTheRescue · 10/12/2023 09:03

If anyone is looking for a gift for teen / older girls and women, the Glossier brand is always popular with this age group and their You perfume (which seems v popular) currently has 20% off.

This means you could get the rollerball for about £22 or the solid perfume for £26 (you would also need to pay delivery).

https://uk.glossier.com/collections/the-gift-of-you

just in case that helps anyone.

in terms of beauty items for (probably) a slightly older demographic, Trinny London has 20% off gift sets and there’s a couple of good deals there too around the £30 / £40 mark.

LemonFrosting · 10/12/2023 09:32
