Gardeners Almanac 2024 on a limited time deal on Amazon, reduced to £5.21 from £9.99. Great addition to the gardening kit that was posted recently for MiL.

I bought one of these recently and it is lovely. I bought a few similar at the same time, and this is the nicest.

How about torches. My boys loved a torch at that age. I bought these for my grandsons. They are wind up so don’t need batteries which I thought was better for little ones.

Sorry to hear about your dad @Bookbug92 I'd recommend the Jackie Morris books as they're all gorgeous and grow with them. Check the sizes as some of them are pretty big and impressive. If you order from solva you can get them written in by her too. The other thing I'd recommend is something he's particular about to carry on. We still play grandpa rules at Risk and he died when I was a toddler.

But despite sending all my family members around every sainsburys near by i didn’t manage to find one and it’s the only toy on the list, so i’m going to have rejig things and find a way to get it. I've seen a lot of people ask for gift ideas and you guys have given so many good ideas in response. Wondering if you could work some magic for me too please?
Looking for ideas for 78yo mil. Widow and lives alone. Sociable and fit, likes walking and meeting friends. Don't know her taste to buy perfume/makeup and she likes more practical stuff. Hits in the past have been a warm jacket and Dreamland throw. Anyone have any ideas?
