Thread 13 - the one with the loot from Black Friday

1000 replies

Reastie · 25/11/2023 06:56

13 - unlucky for some. Let's hope it's very lucky for us!

I bought a couple of things in the Black Friday sales - an amazon stick (I'm pretty sure we couldn't just bought a smart tv by now with the amount we've got through as they break after a year or so) and noise cancelling headphones for DD. Hope you're all getting through the lists - December is fast upon us!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

@thaegumathteth 20% off JD sports with the code EXTRA20 - also works on sale stuff

I'd copied and pasted it to my sister earlier ☺️
(Thanks to the pp who mentioned it too!)

For anyone with teen/tween Stranger Things fans (who doesn't mind shopping at Amazon) the charm bracelet advent calendar and sock crackers (size 4-7) now have a 40% off voucher box to tick taking the price down to a brilliant £8.39 for each.

You need to check them out individually as it's a one code per item deal but it seems to allow repeat purchases. Been watching the crackers for a price drop of a pound or two so DD can give them to friends, thrilled with the unexpected bargain!

Thank you so much! I've had my eye on that advent calendar and been stalling so I'm chuffed to bits with that saving.

For anyone looking to order something from Argos, if you register multiple accounts and agree to receive marketing emails, the money off codes you get will sometimes stack. I couldn't stack the £5 off £40 but the £7 off £75 worked.

For example, I ordered a tablet for 139.99 and a Switch game for 14.99. I managed to stack 4 of the £7 off £75 codes and ended up paying £126.98 for both.

@ItsFunToBeAVampire where is the £7 off £75 offer? I can only find £5 off £40

I have been put in charge of the pass the parcel for Christmas day and so need to find a bargainous gift for the centre ideally under £10 and suitable for either sex ages between 17 and 77. All ideas welcome

Sh1eld · 25/11/2023 18:06

Anyone got any tips for a good value colour in cardboard playhouse - £20 seems like too much to pay...

GardensandGrandDesigns · 25/11/2023 18:06

Hiya

Today I've bought 2 x bum bum cream gift sets from space NK £21 each and they gift wrapped in a fancy bag. It came with the cream, shower gel and body spray. Can't believe it's actually called that but it does smell divine!

Any idea how I can get a Reiss discount code? Dress is £148 but it's velvet so limited wears.

Thanks!

For anyone wanting a new Amazon device if you trade in an old device they add a gift card for £5 onto your account instantly and 25% off the new device you want. I’ve just tried it and it works out with the gift card and 25% off I can get an echo pop for £8.49

Could you let me know how to do the trade in? I can’t see that option when I put an echo into my basket?

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 25/11/2023 18:17

@TherebytheGraceofGodgoI ooh now I'm debating on the Perfectdraft machine. DH would love that. It's a shame they only do beer and not cider.

Ilovepugs2017 · 25/11/2023 18:19

@Tearsofthemushroom you’ll need to select the device you’ll be sending in for the trade in first

hopefully that should take you to the right page

@MammaRoly the transaction on my bank shows as a mobile number, so rang that and it's not a business. I've cancelled my bank card but they said got to wait for payment to clear then I can try and get my money back. Never usually order if paypal isnt available but thought I was ordering off the proper website. Thanks for the reply :)

How about a tea bauble and strainers that @CoffeeAndEnnui posted earlier?

Does that work on the BFA discounted kindle ?

Sh1eld · 25/11/2023 18:26

Anyone know where's offering the best deals on kids bike atm? Halfords has 20% off and decathlon 10% (but their bikes are cheaper to start with). I'm after a 26" wheel mountain bike...

Ilovepugs2017 · 25/11/2023 18:28

@BeaLola ive not tried it with that but it’s worth a go if you change your mind you can always cancel the trade in. They give the 25% and gift card instantly and you don’t need to send the old device in til Jan I think my email said

wideawakeinthemiddleofthenightagain · 25/11/2023 18:45

Ocado have an eclectic range of items half price - Joseph & Joseph bits, some nice looking throws, various stocking fillers, Disney story book advent calendars and a range of vibrators!

I want to get something small for each of the office staff at my children’s school. There’s quite a few of them and I don’t know them that well just they are always lovely to my children. Any ideas? I don’t have much budget x

artemis9 · 25/11/2023 18:58

Any ideas on air-up water bottles and pods. Seem ridiculous to me, but DS3-of-the-random-crazy-Christmas-lists has this on this list. Are the cheaper alternatives as 'good'? Any 'good deals' anyone has come across?

I'd probably go for chocolate.

PumpkinsAndToffeeApples · 25/11/2023 19:17

Can any of you lovely bargain seeking wizards help please? 🙏🏻
Following a change of gift request from my gorgeous (but contrary) god daughter, I now need to buy an additional Sol de Janeiro Jet Set gift pack.
Most places seem only to offer free shipping when spending over £25.
Is there any way I can get this with free P&P?
Many thanks.

Itsbeginningtolookalotlike · 25/11/2023 19:23

Herd Mentality is currently £17.49 at Amazon but I was in The Range today and they have it for £17 plus 10% off all toys so got it for £15.30
