It seems like half of my Facebook newsfeed have already got their tree up. I don't remember it ever starting this early when I was a kid!

Dd8 has. She asked me last week and I thought it couldn’t hurt. Someone on my street has theirs up this week and all their outdoors decs up too. I’m trying to hold off until at least next weekend!

TurquoiseHexagonSun · 23/11/2023 12:15

Planning to put mine up first weekend in Dec, but I am starting to see them around here. I am slightly tempted, but trying to hold out.

Notmetoo · 23/11/2023 12:17

It's too early! It's not even the end of November yet

Whataretheodds · 23/11/2023 12:18

No way. 1) it's December 2) all the needles would fall off by 25th, let alone by 12th night.

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 23/11/2023 12:18

Way too early! At least we should let ourselves get to December!

IWIllDoItNowInAMinute · 23/11/2023 12:18

Yes. It was a rainy weekend, dark and grim so we decided to put it up to brighten things up. Several houses on my street have put them up since we put ours up too.

Lilithlogic · 23/11/2023 12:19

Haven't even got it out the loft yet

Moredarkchocolateplease · 23/11/2023 12:23

2nd Saturday in December and no earlier Imo.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 23/11/2023 12:29

No. Much as I love Christmas, I always hold out 'till December. It just doesn't feel right not to.

TheBirdintheCave · 23/11/2023 12:34

Nah I'd get bored of it by the 6th of January if it went up now. Plus as someone said up thread, for those of us who get real trees we'd lose all our needles by twelfth night!

Stephisaur · 23/11/2023 13:58

The trees and decorations are up at work, but we won't be doing our tree at home until next weekend.

We pretty much always do it on the first weekend in December, it's just right for us then :)

We get a real, potted Christmas tree and it will be up until 6th January.

Caspianberg · 23/11/2023 14:11

No way. My tree is still growing at the local farm. We go and choose it and it’s cut there and then. If I bought a real tree in November and put inside heated house for 6 weeks it would be a bare twig

avocadotofu · 23/11/2023 14:16

No, ours is getting delivered the first weekend of December. I'm not a fan of all things Christmas until December.

PeppercornDelight · 23/11/2023 14:34

I think it was accepted during Covid to cheer people up, and now it’s become the norm for many people.

sprigatito · 23/11/2023 14:40

I'd love to have it up now, but the needles would all drop off by Christmas. The decorations are up though, apart from the ones we will make ourselves (those will have to wait until DS1 gets home from uni). Tree will go up in December. I do have carols playing right now while I decorate the cake I'm sending to MIL 😊

HappiestSleeping · 23/11/2023 14:42

Mine is up. Up in the loft where it belongs until December.

BeggyMitchell · 23/11/2023 15:09

Never in November, it feels wrong.

1st of December normally 🎄🎄🎄.

funbags3 · 23/11/2023 15:15

I have been known to put it up in late November. Usually, it goes up in early Dec and comes down on Boxing Day as by then I've had enough.

wineandmaltesershappyme · 23/11/2023 15:18

Nope, as tempted as i am to pretty things up a bit i'm waiting until the first Saturday in December.

MalcolmTuckersSwearBox · 23/11/2023 15:22

No. 2nd weekend in December.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 23/11/2023 15:26

This weekend, can't wait!! Xx

Silkiefloof · 23/11/2023 15:31

Floof around mid November managed to find one of last year's silver baubles (no idea how) and started kicking it around. So we put him our little Christmas tree up with some robins on as well. Christmas pudding light and penguin light are also out. Floof is ecstatic though is now playing chase the robin every night trilling and zooming around.

The real one has been ordered.

wannabetraveler · 23/11/2023 15:33

Not a chance. Though it's Thanksgiving here so that puts a natural pause on the trees going up. Lots of people put them up this weekend though 🙄

Mintyhotchocolate · 23/11/2023 16:35

We’ll do ours this weekend as all our weekends are pretty full on in December (eldest plays in two brass bands, I work in a church). If we get a Nordman fir they usually manage to make it until Twelfth night with very little needle dropping.

MarleyandMarleyWoo · 23/11/2023 16:37

Absolutely not 😱 I’d be bored of the sight of it by Christmas. First weekend in December is usually our go to for decoration day.
