Can anyone recommend a good bull buy bath bomb bargain? Both kids love them and want to use one each, so more of a quantity over quality type thing.

I paid just over a tenner for these a couple of years ago - they came in a plain cardboard box but are a big hit with MiniFool (we use them sparingly). I've never noticed a scent, but they give a strong colour.

Callmesleepy · 26/09/2023 22:52

Thank you @Dreamingofwalden I had entirely missed that section 🫣

Smileatthesmallthings · 26/09/2023 23:46

@choccychocchoc DS loves a bath bomb from lush but I can't justify the price for one bath, however we discovered the bubble bars and you only need a small chunk to make plenty of bubbles so one bar lasts ages.

If it's just colour you're after and not worried about the fizz element of a bath bomb take a look at the munchkin colour mix lab. They're little bath tablets in various colours that you can combine to make different colours. They also sell toys that go with the range (geared at younger children but my almost 9 year old still loves them). Lots of places sell them; see the options on Amazon here

Munchkin have never affected my eczema pone son's skin, so we've stuck with those but I'm considering trying others next time we need some. 300 of these seem good value. Crayola also do a range called colour-drops

I’m clueless in this arena, but there are suddenly price drops on these cordless
jigsaws for £45 each, reviews are 4 stars. Just missed one at £39 so may hold on a bit longer. Definitely something my husband wants, but we can’t afford the big name ones at the moment
I do know you have to check a battery is included, which it seems to be. Wesco has slightly better reviews but not on Prime

Top - Dunelm have them for women's children and men very reasonable price and well reviewed

Hope this helps someone!

Also some bomb cosmetics boxes reduced to around £7 if you look through this lot (maybe others too) - the cheapest ones have 2 soap bars

Eg vintage velvet

Or Santa’s sleigh is £8.40

Aargh so annoyed about the regatta saga./, I had ordered my dad a gilet for his birthday for end of next week. He is a big allotment goer. Any suggestions for an alternative? I think he has every gadget going and his house is fill of knick knacks (plaques, ornaments and stuff)

@GettingOldWithoutStyle I got my dad one from Primark last week, and it seems to be nice quality. Not hugely bulky, but nice and warm and they look water repellent. They also had the very lightweight ones which I'd describe as down filled (obviously not but you'll hopefully be able to picture what I mean). If he likes layers. My intention was to get one from Go outdoors, but I spotted them when I was picking up some socks for DH. From memory they were no more than 25£

Flubadubba · 27/09/2023 07:23

@GettingOldWithoutStyle Tu have a few at decent prices, some in their sale.

Having played with a few - I’d say go for a plastic marble run, not wooden @Eaglefree

my fave type is the galt ones (lots of add ons in future) they seem most stable and easy to build with.

I’ve played with magnatile ones too but it’s more like balls than marbles and they are a bit unstable at times (even with an adult building).

Thank you for this info. Have ordered a 'bundle' on Amazon (2 kits) for my 2 grandsons aged 4&6yrs. Hadn't heard of marble runs before so hoping this is a good choice.

Ilefttownonsaturday · 27/09/2023 07:31

@GettingOldWithoutStyle try mountain warehouse, I've ordered one for my ds and it was good qualityc & well priced. Landsend stock them as well but more pricey.

I now have 4 diffusers and a candle and some free samples winging their way to me! I did love the taster set thing Valentte did so I'm looking forward to receiving these. I wanted one for my mum and a different fragrance for me. I can now gift one to a friend and 1 to my sister, we'll that's if I don't keep the extras for myself 😉
