@WhereIsThisGoing how old is your DS if you don't mind me asking? Trying to gauge if it would be a hit with mine!

Wolfcub · 26/09/2023 17:19

If you have a sweet order to do (I was looking for something like the fab pick and mix bags from last year) maybe Monmore confectionery. They don't have the nice foil bags but they do do 1kg bags of Christmas or Halloween sweets also single types and things like jelly meerkats for less than £4 per kg. Worth it if you're ordering a few to make the postage worthwhile and especially if you're making up your own bags. These (Robinsons bottle for size) were £4.49

Tokyo laundry has hooded blankets for kids, 4-12 years, £14.99. Loads of colours and patterns. Don't know anything about quality, but looks nice!

Dreamingofwalden · 26/09/2023 17:51

Thanks @LostCats I’ll hold on for Black Friday then.
@ChristmasCrumpet at least a Switch is small enough to hide from four year olds 😂😂. I’ll keep
an eye out for deals.

I’m so tempted by the Legoland Annual passes but we live so far away I don’t think it’d be worth it.

@Famousthehero
My Cookiez Makery oven has arrived today and it looks good. Oven is plastic and its a decent size. Not too big but packaged well and quite 'wow' looking.

Im happy with it for £30 dd is 7 and will love it and ds9 will be secretly jealous!

I'll post a picture for anyone considering it. I went for Cinnamon but there was baked and sweet treats too...

IamChipmunk · 26/09/2023 18:11

Picture with pepsi can for sizing!

Thanks @IamChipmunk it does look tempting, and £30 is quite reasonable considering the general price of toys these days.
Think the other thing putting me off is the surprise element - feel like it would be a disaster if ds got the cat in his and dd got one of the other creatures 🙀

IamChipmunk · 26/09/2023 18:25

@Famousthehero yes I see the dilemma there!! Kids!

unicornwonders · 26/09/2023 18:31

@Fam23 i can’t speak for everything, but the stuff i’ve bought (kids toys, pj bottom, camping stove etc) has been pretty rubbish, some games we bought was missing pits, pjs broke at the seam within a couple of wears and the stove was very temperamental. Im going off my local store in penrith though.

TellMeDinosaurFacts · 26/09/2023 18:39

I followed your link and bought it from Amazon for £135.56 exactly yesterday- thank you @WaitingfortheTardis !
I think Camelcamelcamel sometimes takes a while to update.

Edit- sorry that should have linked to the message it was replying to about the Barbie Dreamhouse!

Thank you! Got a t shirt for bookworm ds as everything else is likely to be books.. (most boring present pile of all!)

Fam23 · 26/09/2023 18:59

Thank you for letting me know @unicornwonders . I was looking online so it’s difficult to work out what it’ll actually look like when it arrives! I think I’ll give it a miss though, thank you!

Crimsonbow · 26/09/2023 19:10

@Fam23 think B&M type quality for YTC. The rydale clothing is great quality though. And their seed potatoes did me well this year! 😂 Although not a Christmas gift.

Mine came too. Went for the one in the blue oven, baked I think. Looking forward to Xmas to play with it haha.

I think you meant to say the most exciting pile! Also easiest to wrap!

TheCrow · 26/09/2023 19:12

A few years ago I got DD some lovely pyjamas from Dunnes online, they were great quality. Random Christmas trivia- the Father Ted Christmas special lingerie department scene was filmed in a Dunnes store, I was very excited that I'd ordered something from there when my mum told me that fact 😂

Actual contribution to the thread- Home Bargains has these Rubiks Puzzle cards for 99p, they're £4.85 on amazon

@Qwerty21 oh absolutely on contents! But in comparison to the big toy piles of younger siblings it can look a little sparse- the ease of wrapping is satisfying though!Grin

Passthecoffee · 26/09/2023 19:34

I've just had an Amazon trespass order cancelled. Have an eBay one too which I'd assume will also be cancelled.

@WhereIsThisGoing how old is your DS if you don't mind me asking? Trying to gauge if it would be a hit with mine!

We gave it to DS when he was 4. He started with us building it (to his vague instructions) and then rolling the marbles down, before graduating to building single level ones himself. He is now at 5 building full multi-story complicated tracks.

Can confirm that the quality of Tokyo laundry stuff is very good. Brought DD a robe from here abut 3 years ago after finding one in tk maxx and thinking it was the softest robe I’d ever felt.

ExPreschoolTrustee · 26/09/2023 19:44

Lakeland have a stackable offer on 4 of their heated throws - its a specific voucher thing that came through the post - if anyone would like to make use of it PM me and I'll send the two codes (one for the 4 throws and the 20% off a spend over £50)

@Fam23 - we get a lot of Yorkshire trading clothes for the boys - I'd say it's Matalan/Peacocks quality - the fleece gilets are a dupe of the Schoeffel and are good for the price
Boots and shoes don't last long though
Shirts and fleeces are good
