I failed at eating yesterday which meant I got blotto far too early and wasn't well. Oops! 🙈

But we had a great time anyway and I avoided having to tidy up!

How was the millennium 23 years ago? It doesn't seem more than a couple of years ago at most.

Has anyone got anything exciting planned? Our decorations are coming down today so feeling a bit 😔I've got to organise all of the bits I've got for next year so that might perk me up.

Morning! Our decorations are coming down today too. I’ve already sorted through our massive box of paperwork and got rid of all the old stuff. The house is disgusting so looking forward to a good clean and tidy.

Decorations down here too, Tribe. Eventually.

I've put washing on (no superstition here!) and put the stuff outside for an hour which ended up having to dry inside yesterday, so it gets some air to it. It's dried well inside though.

I feel old when you mention Y2K like that and all the stories about computers stopping working etc!

Wreck, our house is utterly minging too!

Ive just read our gas meter and - if my maths is right - it's definitely better to keep the heating on all the time than have blasts of it. Who'd have thought?!

We are also stuck into a post-Christmas clean and declutter project here, after our travels. Indoors and out. And including consolidating our 2 offices back to 1 in the box room so the guest room is available again for visitors.

XSt bookmarks were well received (initially didn't believe I'd made them). And Dd is actually using the reusable face wipes I'd made 😮 (surprise as she still hates everything about me). But if I clear out office I get a desk to sew at so can finish the other projects I have started.

I haven't been to a shop (except McD's for sneaky Big Mac meal to get my coffee en route home) since 23rd. Ignored sales. Emptying freezer for food. Talking a bit about what to do next year, as this year was a weird Christmas.

This is the newest baby called Loki. She lives up to her name and is 8 months old

Awww she's beautiful , lovely eyes and long elegant neck , I'm liking the Cleopatra stylee lines at the outer edges of her eyes , she does look like trouble waiting to happen !

When we were CatSearching it was the females beautiful swan neck in a photo that sealed it. Several years down the line she is still the Alpha Female here

@WreckTangled I know exactly what you mean. The space behind our tree is disgusting - dusty and fur balls everywhere. It'll be so much better in a bit, especially when I've washed the floor
@NoWordForFluffy I think we're of a similar age. I was 26 in 2000, I can't quite believe I employ people who were born after 2000
@whydoesitalwayshappentome DH would be cockahoop if we could peg out our washing. Tumble Dryer use is strictly rationed 😆

Hello to all newcomers! 👋

First tree has decs removed. We're binning any of the cheap decs which didn't make it onto the trees this year. I'm gradually replacing those with nice ones each year in the JL sale. I got 6 this year, I think. DD chose 2 more in store and we got a couple as gifts too. Adding up the value of them is a bit scary though. 😱

The sitting room feels bare now but we’ve cleared everything away, hoovered and dusted including taking all the cushions off the sofa etc. dh is just cleaning the last bathroom and then I’m going to wash all the towels (don’t tell my Nan).

Although it's a bit of a rubbish job, I'm quite liking the fact that up and down the country C2C posters are doing pretty much the same as me!

Last of the decorations down except the nativity that will go away on Friday, fairy lights by tv stay so glad I’ve got those. Washing done today bedding tomorrow.

I'm knackered now. My peri brain woke me after 5 hours this morning, so I was tired anyway. We've removed 2 trees, vacuumed and dusted. I've freed up a full box to fill with more decorations in throwing shitty ones away.

Our lounge was fucking disgusting. Carpet was about 60% Pringles. 🤣🤢😱

As I said to DH, we'll be putting them back up in a week, if this year goes as fast as last year!

I've now got Biffy Clyro at the Barrowlands on the TV. Kitchen cleaning and sorting will be tomorrow now.

Tree is down here, too. I forget every year just how big it is and how much space it takes up 🙈 My glass and fabric decs have been wrapped and stored separately to the cheap ones, so I can make sure none are damaged.

I have a small pile needing repairs over the course of the year, and chucked a handful. There are a few I put back, that I don't think we'll use again, but they might be handy at the same time next year at work. If not, then they can go.

Birthday decs for dd2 can have a few days longer though, before they come down, then probably go back up for mine next week.

Inuit people and arctic animals are finished - I've named the walrus Thor, the penguin Pingu, and polar Victor 🤣The girls eye rolled me 🤦‍♀️

our devs came down last week but we will have a wall of fairy lights and birthday balloons from ds3s birthday last week. They will stay up until after ds2’s birthday mid January (dd also has a birthday next week so it seems pointless taking them down just to put them back up a few days later)
last day of the holidays tomorrow, I might take the dc for a long walk somewhere, as long as it isn’t too wet.
