Morning (just)!

I failed at eating yesterday which meant I got blotto far too early and wasn't well. Oops! 🙈

But we had a great time anyway and I avoided having to tidy up!

Countdown to next year is go go go! 🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻

Hairspray have you considered getting rid of the oven/fridge/washing machine?! 😂 we didn’t have our dishwasher for about six weeks when we first moved in and it was the worst six weeks of my life 🤣 dh took out a cupboard and put it in.

The lovely weather is continuing here, getting washing dried outside every day which is good. DD is still unwell, still not further with referrals and school are marking her as unauthorised which is really helpful.

WreckTangled · 18/05/2023 12:12

Oh we do know her referral has been allocated to a long covid clinic but I’m still not convinced that’s it tbh. She was well for six months after having covid (bar two non consecutive days where she had a temp and felt under the weather) so to me that doesn’t make sense but what do I know.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 18/05/2023 13:10

My "Dishwasher" has just fallen asleep in the conservatory. Grin
My nails are shot, so he has to wash (in his xl marigolds) and I wipe and put away...he's only broken 2 mugs in the last 3m since I hung up my scrubber!🤦‍♀️😂
Wreck It sounds more like ME. Can you get her referred back to her other specialists?
fluffy dunno what has happened here, but overnight the starlings seem to have scarpered. 🤷‍♀️ There's been 2 or 3 instead of 20 or 30. The robins, tits, sparrows and Woodys have been around and there's food for them. 🤷‍♀️
Crazy You could have a go at the Paperwhite daffs grown in a tall vase - have a look at last years "poncing" thread.

WreckTangled · 18/05/2023 14:19

I don’t think it is ME, she’s not tired/fatigued in the slightest now. I did wonder if it was that when it was more intermittent but this has been constant now for almost three weeks, to the point where she’s almost falling over when she stands and the headache is there the second she opens her eyes in the morning, it never goes but does get worse when she stands. But the GP said her BP didn’t drop much when she stood even though she’s getting similar vasovagal symptoms. She’s got an appointment with a cardiologist in two months. I could go back to her neurologist I guess, I have the secretaries email but I wonder if she will say to just wait for paeds, do you think it’s worth asking? I’m furious that they all think it’s acceptable to have a child with a headache constantly for so long without further assessment but understand her general obs are ok.

CrazyBaubles · 18/05/2023 15:24

Hairspray I'd get rid of my oven before I went without a dishwasher. DH & I agree it's been a marriage saver in this house!

Thanks puss but I was hoping for something a bit more festive looking (and smaller) because I have this pot (pic).
Last year I plonked a ponsietta in there but it didn't look quite right.

Wreck I would definitely go back to the neurologist. Push anyone who could possibly help, even if all they do is rule things out.

I broke in work yesterday. I couldn't concentrate at all and lost my train of thought mid-meeting. My lovely manager asked if I was ok and I got teary Blush which I never ever do in work. It's so unlike me that she's given me some 'mental health' days off and I've taken them even though I feel guilty.

I've spent some time today in the garden moving my tomatoes to their outside pots, potting on the peppers and generally tidying up. It's boiling here.

Going to have a shower now and prep tea (steak, cheesey potato skins, veg and a garlic cream sauce). Trying to mix resting my brain with getting some things done and keeping me moving.

CrazyBaubles · 18/05/2023 15:25

Oh god. As always, I forgot the bloody pic 🙄

Cute pot, Crazy. I'm no good at thinking of ideas for plants as they aren't really my thing!

Puss, how long have the baby starlings been about? They leave home 2-3 weeks after coming out and go elsewhere to join another group so they don't accidentally mate with their parents! Yours may have done that. Ours are still here, but we're a bit behind you.

Woke up to not-forecast rain today. Not helpful for the bath mat I left 'drying' on the line last night, but very helpful for the allotment. It's not been heavy, I don't think, but does seem like it was persistent.

Crazy I think I'd go for a v small teeny christmas tree (baby leylandii or similar) that you can crochet some "tinsel" (with a metallic thread) for and maybe a star for the top? some battery powered lights - the wire ones are fairly thin - they'd look good.
How tall is the pot, though? I'm guessing 6" max.
Other than that, put it outside with some snowdrops for Christmas in January, or a couple of Cyclamen (but I can't stand the smell of them - they're really wiffy).

Fluffy I hadn't thought about the "accidentally shagging a parent" Shock thing. But thanks for that.
We've had 3 babies and no adults today, but the Blackbirds and Sparrows are making the most of it. They're still shifting fair amout of food between them.
DH went for a walk first thing and just got home before it started to rain. Nice "growing" rain though, gentle so it doesn't damage your seedlings. Sunny now so it will soon dry.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/05/2023 14:49

It's weed-growing weather, Puss. Gorgeous sunshine now!

3 wings, 2 beaks and 4 legs?! 🤔🤣

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 19/05/2023 19:00

Just had another baby starling hit a window and knock itself daft. That's 3 in 3 days (the first one died) not sure what's going on, but we're doing nothing different from last yr. 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, I've ordered some new blinds for the kitchen.😁
DH is having a lie down 😲 before the credit card bill lands.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 19/05/2023 19:03

fluffy don't laugh, I've just chased a couple of magpies off in bare fees and with no bra on god knows what the neighbours will think...especially the ones with CCTV. 😨

NoWordForFluffy · 19/05/2023 21:30

Oh god. We've had many starling strikes but none have ever died. 🙁 Poor things. Wonder what's going on?

I chase magpies too. Must be a thing! 🤣

Crazy I'd put ivy in those boots and in the Autumn plant some snowdrop bulbs .

We'll need a new thread before we get to the Under 200 countdown.
I went to Bluewater today for a faff about , I used to be able to wander abot there for hours, I;m getting too old and knackered now Xmas Shock

This year I am prepared with the nastursiums for the Cabbage White Butterflies to arrive and we'll grow the caterpillars .

70, I checked the thread count yesterday, as I keep noticing we're on page 10, but hadn't paid attention to exactly where we were. Few more days to go at our pace!

I took DS to Liverpool today which was good fun.

It's a gorgeous day today, it has to be said. Summer is definitely on the way! ☀️

Into the two hundred and teens Xmas Grin

I have done:
washing (2 loads)
supermarket shop (been getting deliveries the past few weeks so this shop was ££ as we got some gardening stuff and clothes )
planted up some fushias and cut back some weeds until my back protested too much Xmas Hmm

Hopefully the BH weekend next week will be nice , might be able to sit out and relax.

But now I need to clean the bathroom, the excitement never stops !

NoWordForFluffy · 20/05/2023 18:29

I had cleaned the bathroom before 8am today, 70! #productive

One of those CBA days today .
I woke at7am but listened to the readio and dozed till 9,.30

Washing out , it's cool but blowy here .

NoWordForFluffy · 21/05/2023 13:14

The dog had me up from 5.18 this morning and, although he got back into bed for a bit, got up at 5.42. 💤 I therefore hung the washing out and then took him for his walk, before then going to the allotment at about 8am!

I'm home now and debating with myself as to whether I'm going to have a bath or shower! I shall then clean the kitchen etc once I'm out, and do a bit of ironing. Exciting times!

I didn’t wake up until 8:20. Really warm here, to the point of sweating even though I’m wearing a summer dress. Only 20° but the sun is hot.

Had to go into town to buy ds some more summer clothes and a couple of extras for his residential. He needed some summer flip flops/sliders. Had to get him a size 8 😳

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/05/2023 19:29

I woke at 2:22 am (like the play Xmas Grin )

Busy day at work , a day closer to the BH weekend ....
This week we have the next Rudolph Day , I might tidy up the pantry to celebrate (but that'll have to wait till Friday)
We still have After Eights in there from Christmas BBD April 2023 but I think we'll take the risk Xmas Wink

<<Googles After Eight related deaths just in case >>

NoWordForFluffy · 22/05/2023 20:11

Ooh, let's hope those After Eights don't go rogue and take you out, 70!

I'm in Edinburgh for the BH weekend, cheering on a friend who's doing the half marathon. I have two days off after the BH too, to spend time with the kids after missing the weekend.

Size 8 is impressive, Wreck. Is he tall as well?

Not sure I'll do anything for Rudolph Day, as we're commencing birthday season here. As are a few of us on here!

Fairly but not massively. Just over 5’.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 23/05/2023 04:33

216 Morning all.
Sitting in the dark listening to the dawn chorus. There's one who sounds like he's doing roll call and is working through his list and another that keeps saying "Hello Ducky" Grin
Did some running repairs to the shed yesterday, mostly involving silicone sealant and a few screws. Bought some Dahlias and potted them up too, they're lovely and colourful.
I'd love a pantry. I miss having an understairs cupboard, because of the way the stairs turn the space below them is in the garage.
Time for a Brew and to feed the cats.
