Morning (just)!

I failed at eating yesterday which meant I got blotto far too early and wasn't well. Oops! 🙈

But we had a great time anyway and I avoided having to tidy up!

Countdown to next year is go go go! 🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻

I had a lovely day yesterday. It got very busy at one point with presents and the grandpuppy and everyone milling about but it was really enjoyable.

Sideorderofchips · 26/12/2022 13:41

Afternoon! Checking in

LetsPlayShadowlands · 26/12/2022 13:45

Hi! Still in full christmas spirit but that doesn't stop me looking forward to next year 😁 Hoping to be more organised around tidying and decorating and wrapping next year.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/12/2022 14:04

Hello new thread , thank you Fluffy

I'm going to write my Annual List of what worked/what didn't in my Christmas book (it's an A5 notebook)
Tomorrow can be the tidy up day .

WreckTangled · 26/12/2022 16:01

Oh fluffy 😅 hope you’d don’t feel too rough.

We had a chilled day at pil’s which was nice. The dc were excellently behaved.

I went to the gym this morning then we walked into town. Now we’re about to have a massive tidy up as my sister and bil are coming this evening and staying over. Can’t wait!

ConstantlyCooking · 26/12/2022 18:54

We had a lovely day yesterday, but early evening I began to feel shivery and had a sore throat. I have spent today on the sofa with Day Nurse!

Malleus123 · 26/12/2022 18:58

Yay ... bring on Christmas 2023 !!

Always4Brenner · 26/12/2022 18:59

Yes I can spoil my friends as they deserve.

TofuonToast · 26/12/2022 19:13

Joining. Have already decided that it’s going to be just us and kids next year and fam get together on Boxing Day.

Hagnarok · 26/12/2022 19:17

Hello my Christmas Folk! One of my gifts yesterday was a Christmas planner for next year. I think my husband has just accepted that this is his life now 😂. I'm trying to be more organised with presents next year, but early and spread the cost a bit more.

Hagnarok · 26/12/2022 19:17

Doh **buy early

A bug like that has ripped through our family. I hope you feel better soon.

Wreck, I'm OK now. It was touch and go this morning though. 🙈 Might even have a beer soon. Xmas Grin

We're in Liverpool for the night. The PI at the Albert Dock is mad. Goes on for miles!

Just bought my first presents for next year. Dressing gowns for all the nephews and nieces for £3 each from studio.

Always4Brenner · 26/12/2022 19:47

I’m broke but at least I can start saving 6th January. 1st stocking bit though brought before this Christmas.

TribeD · 26/12/2022 20:26

Evening all,

I've definitely grown a food baby over the last couple of days despite cutting back on the Christmas Goodies.

Already thinking about Christmas 2023 in terms of what we actually ate versus what I think we'll eat (Pate, several cheeses and charcuterie selection not even touched!

All in all Christmas Eve/Christmas Day/Boxing Day were great fun, very relaxed and DD is looking forward to playing with her presents tomorrow.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/12/2022 20:39

Last year I had to suddenly buy some wrapping paper as I had the great idea to buy my DD A SuperDry coat (which she loved , Brownie Points to moi ) but I couldn't fnd any nice stuff so bought some from Amazon , nice colour , dreadful quality .

This year in Sainsbury they had some 3-for-2 on Habitat paper , nice pattern but those bloody awful peeling stickers in place of plastic. At least I have some for next year though.

Magnoliasunrise · 27/12/2022 07:20

Came on here to start thread about how to avoid my post christmas blues and saw this!!! so thank you Fluffy. Never occured to me to start planning next christmas. Yipppeeee. Am making a list and checking it twice!

Morning!

70, I have a lifetime's supply of Christmas wrapping paper, give or take. Do need some adult birthday wrapping paper though (as in not comic characters, not adult-rated! 😱) I shall try to get some shortly!

Hello to the many new names in here...whilst we countdown to Christmas, we talk about all sorts through the year. Grab a pew and join in!

I might try to have a little look at the JL sale while I'm in Liverpool. DD wants to go to Smiggle, and no doubt DS will fancy the Lego shop. It's only fair I get a say too!

Morning! Everyone else is still asleep, I set my alarm for 7 🥱 so I could make breakfast as my sister and bil are here. I can’t believe I have to go back to work tomorrow. Rubbish.

Fluffy I didn’t buy any wrapping paper this year as had so much from previous years. I still have a little bit left but will need more next year.

We’re visiting more family today, last day of Christmas. I’ll try to get to the gym before.

TribeD · 27/12/2022 09:15

Morning,

I need to restock wrapping paper and cards (if I can find any I like in the sale).

DH is back to work today, and DD has requested a crafting day! I've got the lurgy, and just want to sleep 😴 wish me luck

TheWoollybacksWife · 27/12/2022 12:11

Thanks for the new thread Fluffy

I was up early this morning to go shopping with DD1&2. It was a big "Nope" in Next and M&S clothing as the queues were horrendous. Judging by the stuff I did see there wasn't much to have in the way of bargains anyway. I got some moisturiser and some bits from the M&S food hall and came home.

I don't think I'll need wrapping paper next year but I definitely will need some the following year. I might have a look at some of the charity websites to see if anything gorgeous is left.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/12/2022 14:22

I learned many years ago that the Post Christmas Sales were not a fun place to be ! Do Next still open at 6am for theirs?

I want to waft along to Ikea next weekend so hopefully (fingers crossed) not too busy . .

Back at work tomorrow , I usually do in the Twixmas Week ( I know , it's a real thing Xmas Hmm ) then after New Year isn't such a hideous shock to my system.

Always4Brenner · 27/12/2022 14:33

Utterly broke until I get paid in new year but im fully stocked food etc only a week to bills out of the way then start saving I’ll get tissue paper and pritt sticks for presents to others next year I think.
