Morning (just)!

I failed at eating yesterday which meant I got blotto far too early and wasn't well. Oops! 🙈

But we had a great time anyway and I avoided having to tidy up!

Countdown to next year is go go go! 🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻

Hi all, Just got home from a couple of days in Snowdonia, we stayed about 30 minutes away from Barmouth. Weather was stunning, and I could have easily stayed another few nights.

Picked DDog up and he's currently enjoying lots of cuddles. After 3 very late nights and early mornings I am wondering at what point it would be acceptable to go to bed 😁

WreckTangled · 14/02/2023 17:19

It was fine crazy dds physio said she can do her a gym referral but dd isn’t keen, need to try and persuade her otherwise, I think it’s just a fear of be unknown.

mn mobile site is so shit it takes forever to load the thread even though I have it on deferent pages (ie not all posts on one page), hence not posting much.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/02/2023 20:17

Evening!

We've been to puppy training tonight. Ddog is massive compared to the rest of them! It's good fun though.

Morning!

Last day at work this week as I'm off for the next two days. I have my nerve conduction studies tomorrow and I'm meeting a friend on Friday morning. I'll be playing with the dog / kids at other times!

I took the dog for his morning walk first thing. He's now decided it's fine to poo outside of the garden, so I'm now getting to know the location of my nearest bins whilst out! 🤣

CrazyBaubles · 15/02/2023 09:05

Morning. puss I'm not a gin drinker but DH & I both had a whisky 🥃 last night!

Ah you'll know every bin in a 5 mile radius soon Fluffy, I know I do!

I need a good head down getting work stuff done day today but my concentration has gone awol 🙄
Giving blood after work today but still feeling rubbish so apart from the basics (cooking tea, putting washing on) I won't be doing much.

TribeD · 15/02/2023 12:10

Fluffy how's fluffpup taking to classes? I'm thinking of taking DDog,

Not much going on here today, so I'm thinking about blitzing our spare room. Problem is, I took a sleeping tablet last night, and I'm a bit groggy this morning; having been away, I'd not slept especially well so thought I'd "help" things along. I'm fairly sure I could go back to sleep!

CrazyBaubles · 16/02/2023 08:22

312 Morning! Very grey and wet here - hoping it clears up a little for my dog walk later.

Good luck today Fluffy

TribeD hope you're fully awake now Grin

What do they do at puppy classes? We never took any of our 2 to them - I always assumed it was to teach them the basics (sit, lie down, stay, come) but now I'm wondering if it's more about socialising them?

I have about a third of my to-list for the week left to do so need to get on with it as I'm off all next week. It's days like today I wish I drank coffee!

NoWordForFluffy · 16/02/2023 09:11

Morning!

I'm in the waiting room at the hospital. Quite a few of us here and nobody has gone in yet. Wonder if it'll be a long wait?!

Tribe, Ddog seems to enjoy the training. Putting what you've learned into practice isn't always easy though, in the real world!

Crazy, it's about teaching them to not jump, to ignore others and focus on you, recall etc. Basically about not being a pain in the arse. 🤣🤣 There are many treats involved!

Howling a gale overnight but now its bright and windy aka perfect washing day Xmas Grin

I watched the first three episodes of Happy Valley last night and hopefully the next three tonight .

When you take FluffyPup to his classes does he enjoy being with the other dogs? My DParents dog (retired Guide Dog) was so pleased to go from being ver' ver' well behaved to running a riot with a group of her friends . (But went back to being well behaved after )

NoWordForFluffy · 17/02/2023 10:16

Morning!

I feel like it should be afternoon already as so far I've walked the dog, then walked to Sainsbury's and back (about 5 mile round trip). I'm now on my way to meet a fellow Mumsnetter who I met on the Brexit board (we established we had the same MP, then it turns out we live really close to each other too!).

70, he seems to not mind other dogs, but they aren't allowed to run riot. Our friends have a similar-aged pup, so we may do 'play dates' when it's warmer!

Morning. I need to clean the kitchen and sitting room as the place is a mess. Then I’ve got to go and get my front tyres changed (I told them I wasn’t happy with them so they’re doing it for free and so they should). Can’t believe it’s the last day of half term!

TribeD · 17/02/2023 12:18

Hi all,

Send Gin...

Stupidly I promised DD that we could bath DDog today.

This isn't going to go well is it?

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 17/02/2023 13:02

@TribeD GinGinGin
try bathing a cat!
🤦‍♀️

NoWordForFluffy · 17/02/2023 13:05

Funnily enough, I've told DH that the dog needs a wash today. He's starting to smell far too 'doggy'!

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 17/02/2023 13:13

Good luck TribeD Gin I always hated bathing the dogs (when we had 2). One would go nuts and keep trying to shake herself dry even while you were shampooing her so you ended up soaked and the other (ddog who is still here) will literally sit looking at you with big sad eyes and let out a teeny whimper every now and again.

Busy last day at work before a week off today so I'm trying to leave things in a decent state ready for when I get back.

Jealous of the line drying weather some of you have - it's grey and drizzly here 🙄

Feck No !
I like having skin y'know Shock

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 17/02/2023 19:21

70 Boycat once came home covered in mud. I suspect he'd fallen into a large disused planter...and yes, I did have to give him a "bath" in the sink.🛁

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/02/2023 22:36

Our cats were born feral and their socialisation from being captured by CPL allows them to live in a house , sleep on a bed /chair/sofa./box with clean towels in/ any space they fit , accept 2 meals a day + Dreamies at lunch and some chicken on a Sunday ., use a catdoor that magically clicks open with their microchips and use the garden for poncing about in.

But they are too wild to be cuddled , stroked against their will, walk past a naked foot without swiping'n;biting and certainly No Baths

We used to wash the guinea-pigs if they were bonding with a new piggie (making them neutral smelling ), if they were soiled through illness (just a tidy up bumdip) or if they got the arse with each other , a bath helped to unite them in outrage . For such lazy little tubby rodents , add water and they're like Zebedee . Xmas Grin

I finished watching "Happy Valley" , I will definately rewatch the who 3 seroes again.

I told DH on Sunday we are using the Sainsbury Christmas Vegetarian Nut Roast I bought about a month ago that is hiding in the freezer . He is overjoyed Xmas Grin , the Aldi Nut Roast gave him heartburn <worlds tiniest violin>

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 18/02/2023 06:23

I loved Happy Valley 70. Such a great writer and actors.

Off to work this morning. I expect it will still be carnage as it has been all week. Hoping we have some staff today but not holding my breath.

TheWoollybacksWife · 18/02/2023 19:19

I have only ever bathed one cat. The memory will stay for some time.

Half term here for DS but he's revising for GCSEs so I don't need to entertain him.

How did your MN meet-up go Fluffy?

I've bought a pack of Christmas themed sock wool today - once I get through the list of baby stuff I'm making for DD2's friend then I might start them.

TribeD · 18/02/2023 19:41

Bathtime for DDog was hilarious. DD was highly amused, the bathroom was soaked, and he was lovely and clean.

Took him for a walk over lunchtime and the little sod found a huge puddle, bounced into it and lay down.

I'm going to start watching Happy Valley next week, I like a series I can get my teeth into 😁

CrazyBaubles · 19/02/2023 07:16

309 Morning! Pretty sure I look like a zombie as we were up at 5:45 to get to the airport 🥱
Sat waiting for our breakfast now and getting myself into holiday mode.

I loved Happy Valley 70 - watched season 3 over 2 days I think!

Woolly Christmas themed sock wool? I'm intrigued even though I still can't knit and have given it up in frustration for now

TribeD · 19/02/2023 09:47

Happy Holidays Crazy have a cocktail for me 🍹

TheWoollybacksWife · 19/02/2023 11:05
