Can I ask if the daith piercing hurt? It's meant to be something that helps migraine so I'm considering it
It's considered to be one of the least painful cartilidge piercings but your own pain threshold and the thickness of your ear will vary .
I had mine done about 16 months ago ( cold December day !)
DD has had helix, tragus , belly done by needle , she said there was pressure and a crunch .(DD is not good with needles <understatement> )
When I went , I felt a very slight pressure , I thought he was still marking my ear ( he used a cocktail stick to put a tiny spot of dye to mark )
I cannot remenber if there was a clamp used (I know with DD their was) then its just the slightly fiddly bit of threading it through , but by that time you've got over the worse bit .. I was waiting for The Crunch.....but it didn't even do that !
I have a titanium hoop , it is recommended as much less allergenic than gold . It tucks nicely into my ear shape , just don;t sleep on that side , careful washing and brushing hair etc, They give you a saline spray to cleanse it then you just LITHA (Leave It The Hell Alone )
I haven't changed mine , I might have a look and see what other pieces are available (and possibly another piercing )
Cost was about £50 but that's mainly the price of the jewelry .
If anyone asks me I say I;ve never had a migrane since I've had it ( but I haven't had a migrane for years anyway
I don;t know how much medical evidence there is for migrane relief . My migranes eased after my wisdom teeth were removed .
