Morning (just)!

I failed at eating yesterday which meant I got blotto far too early and wasn't well. Oops! 🙈

But we had a great time anyway and I avoided having to tidy up!

Countdown to next year is go go go! 🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻

Well that was a crazy shift, if there hadn't been a full moon on Sunday, I would've thought there was today. Unbelievable.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/02/2023 17:32

YY about the sandpit. Our cats use their tray and will come in through the cat door pee/Pooh and go out smirking.

but a spent bonfire has them rubbing their paws together. Rolling in ash is being Full On Cat 😉

Evening All Xmas Wink (just about)

DH and I had a few days jaunt away to Holland. Nice relax and beautiful city once we'd figured out the cycle lanes , traffic, trams and road signs !
We were walking or on a canal cruise or the Hop On tourist bus , nothing would convince me to cycle

So now back to reality , cooking our own dinner and the pile of washing that goes with any holiday !

WreckTangled · 11/02/2023 17:26

Oh that sounds fun!

We’re getting Indian tonight to celebrate dh having tomorrow off after working 20 days in a row 🤪 I’ve got a long list of things he needs to do around the house.

Dd wants to watch the brits tonight too.

Morning!

70, sounds like a fun trip. I would t have cycled either!

Wreck, what curry did you have? Bit of a busman's holiday for your DH's day off today. 🤣

I'm going to the allotment soon. The bloody dog kept me awake for over an hour overnight, so I'm a) unimpressed and b) tired. 😴

Are you going off the pooch now Fluffy? 🤣 I wouldn't cope with a puppy I don't think.

WreckTangled · 12/02/2023 09:31

Yes! I’ve been waiting weeks for him to do all this. I know he’s busy at work but I’ve definitely felt neglected (as have the dc!) I think this is his fourth day off since the Christmas break.

I had chicken chaat, saag paneer and some chicken rogan josh. We got lots of starters and one main then shared.

I’m not sure I could cope with a puppy either!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/02/2023 09:42

Having a puppy is akin to have a new baby in the house , they are needy and time consuming but (depending on the dog ) they grow up quicker . At least he;s not one of those breeds that don't become "dogs" util they're 4yo Xmas Grin

Our MaleCat likes to dive onto the bed and stamp about at 5am but usually only wakes DH . At least he's quiet with his WakeUp Call though , there is loud purring .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/02/2023 13:36

Righty-oh
I know you fellow Chrstmas Countdowners will appreciate this as everyone else will eye-roll.
Please see Exhibit A -photo
I bought these teeny earrings , modelled on my Hairy Trucker Hands fo scale .
They have quite thick posts and a threaded ball fastening , I think they're meant for cartilidge rather than lobes so I won't try and force them through my piercings ( I have a daith too but I have just kept the hoop in that ) They;re stainless steel rather than silver or titanium but I could wear as a pin brooch on a jacket that I don't mind puncturing .
Or a scarf or handbag .

They're very cute, 70! 🎄

Why, I wasn't the puppy's biggest fan at 4 this morning, no!

I've put chicken wire across my allotment front fence today. Plus created a very shit back fence so the puppy can't launch himself into the brook behind my plot! Because he would. It's just a visual thing to show him it's blocked, not intended to prevent juggernauts ploughing through! 🤣🤣

70 they're not traditional earrings as there's 3, and last time I checked, I've only got 2 ears. 🤣
Teeny brooches or pins on a jacket would work well. Or the strap on a bag, maybe? I've got a Kipling one that I always have a poppy pin on.

Fluffy Good luck with the fence v dog. 😸 At least you have something to dig for you, even if it isn't where you want a hole...

DH decided to get up at 4, made a Brew then went back to bed. Me n the cats watched The West Wing for a few hours, then I sent them upstairs to sit on his head/drag the duvet off.😉 They were told they wouldn't get more "din-dins" until their mission had been completed, should they choose to accept it. DH is still in a grump now 😻

Always4Brenner · 12/02/2023 15:48

Those little badges are so cute.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/02/2023 17:12

There were 4 but I didn't like the other one ( diamante with a Santa Hat ) I foisted that off onto DD

I've only got 2 ears too , but three lobe piercings and a daith , so loads of choice Xmas Grin

They were £5 for the four so pretty good going , Ive put them in the jewelry box so I don't lose them !.

AdoraBell · 12/02/2023 17:46

I’ve ordered reusable makeup remover pads for DD’s stockings. Socks too, they will arrive next week.

TheWoollybacksWife · 12/02/2023 19:48

It must be the day for getting Christmas bits - I've finally remembered to order some bauble hangers after most of mine went in the bin when I took the trees down last month.

Puss I'm also rewatching the West Wing - getting towards the end of series 3.

CrazyBaubles · 12/02/2023 19:52

Sounds like a fun trip 70 and I love the jewellery Xmas Smile
Can I ask if the daith piercing hurt? It's meant to be something that helps migraine so I'm considering it.

Fluffy I love puppies but I def won't be having another - if we get another dog at some stage, we'll be getting a rescue that's 3 or older.
We've had 3 very different puppies (one was an escape artist, one was a whiny bugger and the other (current ddog) was pretty good). Loved them all but they were exhausting.

I spent yesterday babysitting nephews and niece. I had them for 7 hours, it was fun but my god I was tired. I also didn't drink enough and ended up with a cracking headache.
Went to bed early, was asleep by 9pm which meant I was wife awake by 5.

DH & I have spent the day giving the house a big pull-the-furniture-out clean and tidy and the house is so much better for it.
Now sat watching the last 2 episodes of Happy Valley and cross stitching while DH is out for tea <happy sigh>

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/02/2023 22:30

Can I ask if the daith piercing hurt? It's meant to be something that helps migraine so I'm considering it

It's considered to be one of the least painful cartilidge piercings but your own pain threshold and the thickness of your ear will vary .
I had mine done about 16 months ago ( cold December day !)

DD has had helix, tragus , belly done by needle , she said there was pressure and a crunch .(DD is not good with needles <understatement> )

When I went , I felt a very slight pressure , I thought he was still marking my ear ( he used a cocktail stick to put a tiny spot of dye to mark )
I cannot remenber if there was a clamp used (I know with DD their was) then its just the slightly fiddly bit of threading it through , but by that time you've got over the worse bit .. I was waiting for The Crunch.....but it didn't even do that !

I have a titanium hoop , it is recommended as much less allergenic than gold . It tucks nicely into my ear shape , just don;t sleep on that side , careful washing and brushing hair etc, They give you a saline spray to cleanse it then you just LITHA (Leave It The Hell Alone )

I haven't changed mine , I might have a look and see what other pieces are available (and possibly another piercing )
Cost was about £50 but that's mainly the price of the jewelry .

If anyone asks me I say I;ve never had a migrane since I've had it ( but I haven't had a migrane for years anyway Wink
I don;t know how much medical evidence there is for migrane relief . My migranes eased after my wisdom teeth were removed .

.

CrazyBaubles · 12/02/2023 22:52

Thanks. There's loads of anecdotal stuff around migraines, with connections to piercings, acupuncture, reflexology etc. I've tried most with no luck but I quite like a piercing and haven't had one in a long time so thought it may be worth doing either way.

Pain threshold should be fine - way way back I had my tongue done on a whim, nose, few earlobe piercings and a tattoo with No issues. Not a fan of the noise though so the thought of the crunch makes me a bit 🤢

I'll have a look into it Smile

DH came back early just as I was starting the last episode of happy valley and has been insisting on spending time with me as we've barely seen each other this weekend. Going to bed on my own now though so will put it on - he's downstairs watching the most boring sport known to man super bowl.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 13/02/2023 06:18

315 I'm up to "The Two Bartlets" Woolly I think WW might be my specialist subject if I were to go on Mastermind. Grin

WreckTangled · 13/02/2023 08:35

Morning. Half term here and I’m off work woo hoo! Dd has physio then I’ve got to go and pick her friend up so they can go into town. Dd has just asked for more money and I’ve said no as she’s had so much recently and is acting spoilt about it. I’ll take ds to KFC for lunch (one of his Christmas vouchers I gave him). He really needs a hair cut too but is refusing to go anywhere but the barbers he knows so depending on the time I might take him this afternoon.

WreckTangled · 13/02/2023 08:36

Oh I also need to take some clothes to the clothes bank and pop into the range to take something back and get some more squash from sainburys (next door). Will be quite a busy day I think.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/02/2023 20:46

I'm getting adverts for Christmas Ribbons coming up at the side of my screen Xmas Shock Christmas ribbon in mid Feb!
Though I did cast my eye over some 50p Christmas Gift wrap in WHSmith (but resisted )

Did loads of laundry today the washing machine is now resting with a large gin!

Work tomorrow <sigh>

CrazyBaubles · 14/02/2023 12:52

314 Happy Valentines Day. Absolutely no romance here 🙄 Instead we both have busy work days then appointments this evening (dr for me, dentist for him). Plus 🚨TMI alert 🚨, I'm having the period from hell and he's somehow injured his arm so it'll be a quiet evening for us.

I love WW puss. I've only watched it once, maybe 2 years ago? It's so clever, I may try and get DH to watch it.

How did you get on with your busy day Wreck?

Hope work isn't too bad 70

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 14/02/2023 13:06

Crazy DH went the extra mile 🤦‍♀️ He woke me (at 1am with a clatter which made me twist/jump & I've done something to my lower back) to wish me "happy valentines day" 😒 I made it to 4 then got up and have watched 3 more WWs while he snored away - so not all bad. 🤭
I hope things improve for you, my last period was pretty quiet, but the one before 😭 I couldn't leave the house and daren't lie down. Sleeping in an armchair isn't fun after 2 nights, even if the cats enjoyed jumping on me at 2am.😻 At least you have DDog to snuggle up to.🐶

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 14/02/2023 13:07

70 I think me n Crazy might need some of your Gin later...
