Morning (just)!

I failed at eating yesterday which meant I got blotto far too early and wasn't well. Oops! 🙈

But we had a great time anyway and I avoided having to tidy up!

Countdown to next year is go go go! 🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻

Morning!

Freezing here too. But no frost. It's grey outside and dank-looking, so it's way colder than it looks!

The puppy has had his first walk (he's 15 weeks and fully-vaccinated) which went moderately well (with bribes). 🤣

Crazy, the kids are stupidly excited!

That is organised of you why!
I've been fighting some sort of cold all week and it got me last night - full on congestion that stopped me sleeping and a resultant headache this morning so DH made me breakfast then sent me back to bed with ddog. I've just woken from a nap (sat up) and feel so much better.

Going to have a gentle day today, I'll do some washing, may get the sewing machine out, plus I want to finish a Christmas gonk that's half made and maybe later cross stitch too.

For sole Rudolph days, especially when it gets to June/July, I like to put a Christmas film on while I plan. Makes me feel a bit nuts (and DH rolls his eyes a lot) but I think it's nicely eccentric Xmas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/01/2023 12:22

Beautiful frosty but sunny day here , too cold to hang washing out though ( I did yesterday because it was white towels but it didn't dry them. Just feels better when they're out in sunlight)

The cats went out (well MaleCat did , not sure if Madam has ) stomped about , Exhibit A : Patio table top , paw prints as evidence Came back in.

Four weeks ago was Christmas Day , seems like forever ago Xmas Sad

So Fluffly Photo of NewFluffyPup ? You don't think you'll get away without it , do ya ?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/01/2023 18:39

Ahhh he is gorgeous Xmas Grin

And I have to say , a nice match for your carpet so the hairs won't show as much !

Always4Brenner · 22/01/2023 19:21

Yes I was thinking Christmas seems so long ago now.

AdoraBell · 22/01/2023 20:14

Super cute pup 😍

Cute pup Fluffy 🐶 How is he settling in?

We've got blue sky and freezing cold temps here today. I'm still congested and sneezing all over the place but am planning a nice walk with ddog later to try and get some fresh air which will hopefully help.

No exciting news here at all, it's so boring (which is how I like it)!

NoWordForFluffy · 23/01/2023 18:13

Similar weather here, Crazy. But probs a bit more cloud cover.

FluffyDog had a vet trip last night due to sickness and diarrhoea, poor thing. He had an antiemetic injection and has antibiotics. He's well in the mend should be at almost £400 for the visit thankfully.

He's busy learning commands like sit and drop my bloody slippers fascinate him so is doing well. 😍

OP posts:
TribeD · 23/01/2023 19:48

DDog cost us the same after less than a week...sniffed up a grass seed 🙄 DH was less than impressed.

Hope FluffyDog is on the mend (and leaving your slippers alone)

I've just got back in from slimming world and DD has switched on my electric blanket, bless her, she's well trained 😁

CrazyBaubles · 23/01/2023 20:43

Oh hope he's feeling better Fluffy. When ours have had an upset stomach we've always fed plain white rice and a small amount of chicken or scrambled egg until it's settled.

I'm wishing I'd invested in an electric banket TribeD, my woollen one just isn't cutting it, even with ddog on my lap acting like a hot water bottle 🥶

Work was crazy today. All calm until 3:30 then it went a bit nuts and I ended up working until just gone 6. Now my head hurts 🙄

Cold and sunny here today. The birds are queuing up to hoover up the mealworms DH put out for them. It's interesting to see the hierarchy - the magpies and the robins seem to be top of the pecking order.

My foot started hurting on holiday last week. Dr. Google has informed me that it could be many things including gout or a stress fracture 😂 so in between sorting out the laundry mountain I'm sitting with my foot up and crocheting.

TribeD · 24/01/2023 17:57

Crazy - I absolutely wouldn't be without my electric blanket now. It's worth it's weight in gold to me. I've not had any menopausal hot flushes (...yet.. ) and I'm grateful for the warmth.

Woolly - rest up and hope you're up and about again soon. There's worse things than putting your feet up and crocheting.

WreckTangled · 24/01/2023 18:21

I love my electric blanket too, it makes me so happy 😁

CrazyBaubles · 24/01/2023 18:45

Woolly funnily enough I noticed a robin waiting for me to put the food out today, he was sat on the garden wall watching me. It’s the first time I’ve had one waiting - normally they appear a while later - I was so excited.
I hope your foot feels better soon. What are you crocheting?

Wreck & TribeD what heated blankets do you have please?

Cold here, and it’s been one hell of a work day so DH is treating us to a chippy tea ☺️

Always4Brenner · 24/01/2023 19:07

Hello everyone Rudolph day tomorrow in 11 months it will be Christmas Eve. Best day we’ll one of them.

TheWoollybacksWife · 24/01/2023 19:48

I'm making a blanket for WH. I took some yarn on holiday but I was too busy drinking cocktails it was too hot to bother so I'm going like a mad thing to finish it asap.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/01/2023 19:53

Evening!

Late finish for me tonight. I had a conference with a barrister and client which was urgent. At least it's done though.

Woolly, be careful with your foot. 🦶🏽

We have a robin which visits us. Not as often as the starlings, however. 🤣

I don't have an electric blanket. I have a nice thick blanket for the sofa and a HWB for bed!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 24/01/2023 20:56

Crazy I have this one

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/01/2023 21:29

Woolly Dr Google is not your friend put him down !

If you have a fracture you'd need an Xray to rule it out (or confirm it)
For gout they normally give ant-inflammatories (for immediate relief) and a blood test .(to confirm)

Could be ligament or tendon rather than bony

Hope it resolves soon.

Fluffy have you got insurance for your DDog ? Normally they come with 4 weeks then you take over the policy or set up your own.

Our male cat gouged a scrape on his eye when he'd started going out , we took him to the Emergency Vets but it had improved dramatically , he needed a check up , some drops and we were £60+ lighter !

NoWordForFluffy · 24/01/2023 22:05

Yes, 70, he came with 4 weeks' insurance. I've put the claim in and paid the vet £25 to fill out the forms for me to verify he needed treatment. Hopefully less likely to be rejected then.

No-one posted today?

On the 1st Rudolph Day od 2023?

For shame Xmas Wink

I;m just tidying up some Waitrose ice-cream I biught early Dec , just to create space in the freezer you understand !
Tomorrow when I finish work I might do some sorting out of my wardrobe ,too early to think about putting the winter clothes away , but I'll see exactly what's in there

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 25/01/2023 19:14

I don't really do anything on Rudolph day and I have been awake since 04.30 so my remaining brain cell is flagging.

Tried those mystery Cadbury bars today and all three of us are not sure what either of them are.

WreckTangled · 25/01/2023 19:18

I had a bad night so took today as sick leave. I had a two hour nap and submitted my final (35 page) assignment for this semester. I could
probably have improved some bits but I’m sick of the sight of it.

I’ve just ordered some glass frosting film for DD’s windows as they’re almost floor to ceiling and look into the road - the amount of people who walk past and deem it acceptable to stare in is ridiculous. Will just do the bottom half of the window to start with and hopefully that’ll be enough.
