Morning (just)!

I failed at eating yesterday which meant I got blotto far too early and wasn't well. Oops! 🙈

But we had a great time anyway and I avoided having to tidy up!

Countdown to next year is go go go! 🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻

My electric blanket is a silentnight one - think it was about 20 quid. It's only a single size as DH is normally hot. Of course now it's cold, he tries to sneak his feet onto my side of the bed. He gets short shrift...

I wrapped up all DD's Advent Box bits today, so the first Rudolph Day of 2023 was productive Xmas Grin

Always4Brenner · 25/01/2023 19:55

Rudolph day wise done very little but a beautiful toiletry set will be brought in a couple of weeks and put into my goody sack. I’ll be hounded off here as most hate the make but I’m on a budget a tight one so for now for me I’m happy.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/01/2023 19:59

Evening!

Busy day. Ddog takes up a lot of time, plus work is busy.

I haven't done anything Christmassy today. Did buy a birthday present for DS though (a new Minecraft Lego set which went OoS almost as soon as it was released, so I wanted to grab it).

Bought a paint your own pebbles set for dd for christmas , 3 quid from the works, so at least one thing done on rudolph day

CrazyBaubles · 26/01/2023 08:11

333 Morning!

My Rudolph day plans went awry as had some hard news yesterday and didn't really feel up to doing anything so cheerful. I don't have anything much planned for the weekend so will do some Christmas crafting then instead.

I don't think I could cope with an electric blanket for bed TribeD so am considering more of a heated throw I suppose. But I'm fussy - Wreck I don't think I could handle the texture of yours Blush.
I want a non fluffy, non duvet heated blanket that isn't too big (but big enough) that also isn't £££. That's not too much to ask for surely? 😳

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 26/01/2023 09:25

Hi folks. Sorry to hear you had some bad news Crazy.

I slept better than I had for weeks last night. Still exhausted though this being chronically unwell business is tiring.

TheWoollybacksWife · 26/01/2023 10:29

Are you ok Crazy?

Good news on the sleep why. Have you had any progress on managing your pain and other residual symptoms?

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 26/01/2023 10:41

Hi Woolly. I have a nerve pain killer now and that has sorted some of the issues but the swollen joint pain etc is still being investigated.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/01/2023 18:21

Flowers Crazy

Always4Brenner · 26/01/2023 21:29

Morning!

This dog ownership thing is time consuming! What with that, the kids and work, I've no time to do anything.

Crazy, I hope you're OK. Flowers

If I bought a dog I'd sell my kidz so I could have it all to myself Xmas Grin

Only tiny minor setbacks being my dof of choice would be a brindle greyhound and my cats would put a Hard No on that .
And no-one would buy my kidz ! Not even on eBay .

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 27/01/2023 10:06

I did want a dog but then I looked after grandpuppy for a day and she really wore me out so I will pass on that.

Having an xray on my hands and feet later on, exciting times right there.

CrazyBaubles · 27/01/2023 11:42

Hey. Thanks all. I'm ok today, the news was unexpected and too sad for this cheerful thread, plus I don't want to dwell.

How is ddog Fluffy? I think the puppy stage is really hard - they're cute but they're so needy and energetic 😂 you must be exhausted.

Your day sounds more exciting than mine why - work, pharmacy, walk ddog and cleaning 🙄

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 27/01/2023 11:50

I am cleaning as well Crazy plus you have reminded me I need to pick my medication up today.

TribeD · 27/01/2023 18:45

We're wrecks on this thread! I've been to hospital today for some neurological investigations.

The neurologist asked me to walk in a straight line which I couldn't do because of the pain in my back.

I feel very old.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/01/2023 19:43

I'll join the club, though not for myself - I had to take DS for an Xray .
Surprisingly for DS he wanted to go today (he usually procrastinates like Billy-O ) so we got it done . Walk in , didn't take long .

DH is finding old TV programmes to re-watch , The Last Train (1999) and the Sculptress (1996)
Yes before some of you lot were born Xmas Wink

Soon be into the three-twenties Xmas Grin

I treated myself to some nice showergel (QVC have special offers on Beauty today ) did laundry (I could almost believe there is a bottom to the laundry basket )

Need to think about going to sleep now or I'll be dog-rough tomorrow !
Got caught up in YouTube documentaries for a couple of hours .

WreckTangled · 28/01/2023 09:46

I just woke up 😳 But I was awake 4-5:30, pleased I got more sleep but feel like half the day has gone. I need to go to Tesco and get breakfast and lunches (got a hello fresh this week) and get the car washed as it’s covered in grit.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/01/2023 12:42

I was woken at 5-ish by some twat doing what sounded like a doughnut before driving off like a loon.

Weather has turned here today. Very damp now.

70, what documentary did you watch?

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/01/2023 13:01

Fluffy it was about James Bulger . I went on YouTube and the side bar has some links to other programmes .(I started on Good Morning and followed from there)

It is 30 years on the 12th Feb since that little boy was abducted and murdered .

The scenes of the crowds baying for the punishment was frightening but people were (and I'm sure still are) angry and shocked .

CrazyBaubles · 28/01/2023 14:18

Afternoon. I've had a frustrating morning - couldn't join the library as systems were down, my meds still aren't at the pharmacy, a few things I wanted were out of stock 🙄

I'm also 50/50 about whether I saw a rat on my bird feed table 😩 My eyes are rubbish so I couldn't quite tell but I've binned the feed and moved the table for now. DH is going to have to move some big patio slabs so they have nowhere to hide.

I'm waiting to hear from a friend about whether she wants to come over for some wine and venting tonight as she's having a tough time. If not, I'll be having a quiet night home alone as DH is out.
Tbh I think I'd rather the night alone after this week.

70 James Bulger is one of the first crimes I really remember (I would have been 8). I didn't fully understand but I remember my parents reaction and it made me nervous.

Hope everyone is feeling ok today.

TribeD · 29/01/2023 09:00

Good morning! How are you all this morning?

I'm sitting in bed with a coffee, DD and DDog keep coming and checking in for a cuddle or an ear scratch, DH is downstairs watching cricket.

I walked about 12,000 steps yesterday around a farm (very uneven ground) and I am really feeling it today.

WreckTangled · 29/01/2023 09:58

I didn’t wake up until 9:30 again! Dh is working (again). I have some bits around the house I want to do and should probably get ds outside for a bit.

CrazyBaubles · 29/01/2023 10:43

Morning. I'm being a very nice wife and making bacon sandwiches for a late breakfast. DH didn't come home until 3am and even though he was quiet, I couldn't sleep properly knowing he was due to come in so we're both tired. He's still snoring but I'll wake him up with food and hope his hangover isn't too bad.

Raining here but as plans are just to sort the house and go to FILs for lunch it doesn't make a massive difference.
