DPD!

5 days in a row I have received the dreaded message of 'due to unforeseen circumstances we are unable to deliver your parcel'

I would mind less if there was an option to pick it up -but no!

So frustrating

Without a doubt for me its EVRI . So much so that I now avoid any retailer that use them 😤

DomesticShortHair · 24/12/2022 12:46

Royal Mail would get my vote. Except they wouldn’t, because it’d be lost in the post on the way, or get there weeks after voting has closed.

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 24/12/2022 12:47

Royal Fucking Mail 😡

Flapjackquack · 24/12/2022 12:48

DPD are far and away the best delivery company for me. They always arrive on time, friendly drivers, help carry in heavy things.

Before the RM strikes it was Evri.

GiltEdges · 24/12/2022 12:49

I get that it’s annoying, but I never understand these types of threads, because your experience isn’t universal. For example, in my area DPD are great, as are Evri and Yodel. Royal Mail, not so much. But I have the common sense to realise that other people living in other places will all have their own experiences 🤷‍♀️

I placed an order on 28 November, item not here, no idea when it will be , supplier blaming Royal Mail, it was an expensive Christmas present, soooo disappointing

You haven’t quite understood the point of forums like this have you? It’s not here to give an impartial and definitive judgment on delivery companies, how long to cook a turkey for, or whether to leave your OH because he eats with his mouth open. It’s the modern day internet equivalent of going down the pub.

DPD.

3 days in a row I had the "tried to deliver and not in - will return again tomorrow card"

All 3 of those days ds was in. In all day. Online college.

Then I had the sorry we missed you again card it's at the office. Posted through the door as ds was in and they didn't even ring again.

Office is 15 miles away.

We went to office.

We waited 30 minutes ringing the bell.

I went around the back to the delivery garage.

To be told they'd shut due to lockdowns.

However - they VERY lovely man there found my parcel and gave it to me when I asked exactly how I was meant to receive a parcel that no one actually tried to deliver and took to a shut warehouse I was meant to deliver from.

This was during the one month lockdown in November 2020.

Mañanarama · 24/12/2022 13:12

I’m only missing one parcel right now - Royal Mail. The best in our area is Evri, have had loads delivered by them this year, absolutely faultless.

xmaslurgy · 24/12/2022 13:13

Yodel

WTAFnojustno · 24/12/2022 13:27

DPD this year

Who managed to ignore the delivery instructions, nominated safe place, and a photo of my actual house which is on a main fucking road so hardly difficult to find

Driver updated tracking to say "unable to find address" 🙄

And then destroyed my vegan cheese hamper because it was perishable goods and they'd missed the 48 hour delivery deadline 😭

Ineedachangerightnow · 24/12/2022 13:32

Royal mail. Not one single delivery attempted even got the slip through the door while indoors!

The Evri driver is an absolute Saint round here

tabulahrasa · 24/12/2022 13:35

Currently - Yodel

They picked up a parcel from the retailer on the 19th and took it got to my local depot on the 20th... but they’re not delivering it till the 28th, I can collect it from the local depot, but not till the 28th.

I mean I sort of understand if they’ve nobody to deliver it, though 6 working days seems a long time... but why can’t I go get it?...

Leakingtoilet · 24/12/2022 13:37

I'm only missing one and it's from evri. Fairly expensive Christmas present for my DD. For days the tracking said 'we've got your parcel, will let you know when it's out for delivery'. I chased it when status hadn't changed for a week, no response. However I've logged in this morning and now says it was delivered in the 10th. Errr no it wasn't. There's no photo or anything. And they won't deal with me now as the parcel was apparently delivered more than 5 days ago!

uhtredbebbanburg · 24/12/2022 13:37

DPD right now! I just got the same message as OP for a mattress that was meant to be delivered today 😡. I paid 15 pounds for delivery before Christmas too!!

Roselilly36 · 24/12/2022 13:38

Royal Mail definitely, abysmal. The best is Prime, been awesome this Christmas.

SirChenjins · 24/12/2022 13:40

Evri, DPD and the Royal Mail get to share the winners podium this year (though my postie is lovely)

Ditto

harktheherold · 24/12/2022 13:47

Last year I would have said Hermes aka Evri.

But now DPD wins the prize... because their drivers' sat nav systems can no longer locate my property so items were constantly getting returned to the vendors until I figured out how to instruct them to deliver my parcels to my nearest post office

BigMamaFratelli · 24/12/2022 13:52

DPD

'We have received your parcel from X we will deliver it by 4th Feb'

February? Wtaf?!!

Benmac · 24/12/2022 13:52

UPS. Delivered one parcel to totally wrong house. Only the kindness of the occupant delivering it here let me get it.
Another parcel allegedly out for delivery on 9/12. has just disappeared. No I do from UPS at all.

OhhhhhhhhBiscuits · 24/12/2022 13:59

Yodel absolutely shocking this year. DPD and Evri have been fantastic!

fernz · 24/12/2022 14:01

They are all completely overwhelmed due to the Royal Mail strikes so the other companies have many times their usual volume of parcels.

Mañanarama · 24/12/2022 14:10

Roselilly36 · 24/12/2022 13:38

Oh yes, Prime just edges Evri to the gold medal spot. I’ve noticed other retailers using Amazon for delivery, too. Suits me, they’ve never let me down!

Chicca1970 · 24/12/2022 14:17

Fucking Evri - their recent lies and shitty service has left me apoplectic with rage …
