DPD!

5 days in a row I have received the dreaded message of 'due to unforeseen circumstances we are unable to deliver your parcel'

I would mind less if there was an option to pick it up -but no!

So frustrating

I'd also vote for Royal Mail. I support the workers striking but I'm irritated that the company hasn't been able to prevent the strikes

VHSyeah · 24/12/2022 14:20

Royal Mail.

LadyAstor · 24/12/2022 14:21

DPD at the moment.

I ordered something from John Lewis on a Next Day basis for £7.95 ish.

That was on Tuesday. I keep getting the 'unexpected issue' message everyday. Its now due for delivery on the 27th.

While I'm at it, I'd also like to say that I wish companies wouldnt use unprofessional language in their communications. It just pisses me off even more. Just tell me that unfortunately, you're unable to deliver on time, not "oops!" or "oh no!" or "Well, this is awkward." Makes them sound like some over excited teenager.

Wonnle · 24/12/2022 14:48

I've had a parcel delivered by Evri at 12.10 and then got an email telling it's been delayed at 16.02 .

That takes some doing to delay a delivery that's already been delivered

DifferentYearSameShit · 24/12/2022 14:49

Royal Mail - parcel returned to sorting office on the 13th Dec several times I've rerranged as they were no shoes. No idea what's in the Parcel but now due for delivery on the 29th Dec!!!

DifferentYearSameShit · 24/12/2022 14:49

No shows not shoes

JillyBoel22 · 24/12/2022 14:54

With DPD if you contact the company you ordered from they can raise an investigation where they have to find it within the system within 5 days and deliver to you ASAP. Worked for us when DPs parcel kept changing on the tracking and came within 2 days of raising it with the company. I was actually advised to go this route by DPD themselves

bigbluebus · 24/12/2022 14:55

I've had parcels delivered by Royal Mail, DPD, Evri, APS overnight and John Lewis. Every single one has turned up within the expected timescale. Guess I'm just lucky!

Oysterbabe · 24/12/2022 14:56

DPD who no longer even try to deliver round here, just dump the parcels at a random newsagent because 'it's better for the environment' (?!?!)

And Royal Mail who still haven't delivered some live snails that were posted 10th December. They will certainly be dead by now.

And the award for the worst delivery company goes to...
uhtredbebbanburg · 24/12/2022 15:09

@Oysterbabe That's pretty poor! On par with "for the safety of our employees and our valuable customers, we will do f-all for you because of Covid". Excuses for poor service.

PicaNewName · 24/12/2022 15:09

DPD. Item despatched on the 15th, apparently. Lots of boxes, one didn't turn up. without it, my son can't use his Christmas present.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 24/12/2022 15:20

DPD are horrendous.

It took them 7 attempts to collect a parcel from me which had been arranged for me as a return by a company.

I had continuous messages saying "you missed your driver" but I was in the whole time and the photograph would show a completely different house and road. They once in this period drove past my house without stopping and took a picture of the drive as I swore in disbelief. Twice drivers were told that it was clear from the tracking technology they hadn't been near my house and I was told they had been told to turn back. Didn't happen.

I really struggled to get hold of a) a person and b) someone in the UK and at my local depot, I thought it would never end.

I would never voluntarily use them and heave a huge sigh if they are the chosen company.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 24/12/2022 15:23

DHL for me'

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 24/12/2022 15:23

Royal mail have been appalling.
DPd have been excellent here.

WordtoYoMumma · 24/12/2022 15:34

I've never had a good experience with DPD. More than once they have said no one was in for the parcel and taken a picture of my back gate, or a blurry grass verge, they don't even bother to find the front door. I've taken days off work to wait for parcels and they say I'm not in when I always am.

I would never order something which is delivered by DPD unless I absolutely have no choice

SomethingOriginal2 · 24/12/2022 16:01

I'm convinced evri are actually a badly advertised garbage collection company and they're just throwing all our parcels away.

Oysterbabe · 24/12/2022 16:06

It's the lies I can't stand. I'd have a lot more respect for them if they said they're really busy and it's easier for them to get round if they just dump them in one place. No prior communication at all that this is what they were doing.
When I went to collect the woman said she'd had a steady steam of people coming in and ranting about them all day. People had booked days off work to wait in for the delivery.

MistyIsland · 24/12/2022 16:23

DPD 😡 have had my parcel for 2 weeks and all I keep getting is the we are unable to deliver due to issues in my area…I paid for next day delivery I have been taking screenshots & sent to the company I ordered from who then sent another with Royal Mail see below…

However DPD Local managed to deliver something I ordered on Wednesday (didn’t need for Christmas) yesterday…

Royal Mail managed to deliver something next working day yesterday yes I know they are on strike and yes I was impressed and was very nice of them to deliver the parcel DPD can’t

Evri are really really hit and Miss DH hasn’t had any problems I’ve had 2 go missing..surprisingly mine have been the lesser value ones.

amazon have been spot on as always

It’s all been a bit rubbish this year

brownbear201 · 24/12/2022 17:33

Also waiting on DPD here. A box of dog food (thankfully not frozen) that's been sat in their depot since 18th December with no movement (not even scanned) and an iPhone 14 (thankfully not a Christmas present!) that has been sat in their depot since 15th December- that was supposed to be next day delivery on 16th December. I was getting daily emails saying the delivery was delayed due to an 'unexpected issue' in my area and that it would come tomorrow, which it never did. It now hasn't been scanned since 21st December.

I'm just hoping that both are in good condition when they do eventually turn up!!

BakewellGin1 · 24/12/2022 18:19

EVRI 100%
Only parcel I'm waiting for is with them and has been for 4 weeks.

Amazon by far the best for me

Singleandproud · 24/12/2022 18:30

Our Evri delivery guy is amazing. However, one that delivers to the other end of town stole a van full of presents and sold them as a job lot at a car boot sale 30 miles away. Caused quite the scandal on the local Facebook page when someone at the carboot spotted the parcels (still in original packaging with addresses) and tracked down the person it was meant to go to.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 24/12/2022 18:36

RM has been fine here, everything’s arrived in reasonable time. The only cock up was with Evri -delivering to the wrong house.

RogersOrganismicProcess · 24/12/2022 18:57

Dpd we’re meant to be delivering our Turkey yesterday! Looks like we aren’t having Turkey!

If there's a supermarket near you still open, you'll probably be able to pick one up at a huge discount.

DelilahBucket · 24/12/2022 19:18

Royal Mail. The others wouldn't have fared quite so badly if Dave and his cronies at the CWU hadn't been on a power trip for the last month. Apoplectic doesn't even cover how I feel about the strikes. They have ruined my business and caused so much stress. I can't even think about it or start to brace myself for the influx of refund demands on boxing day because stuff hasn't arrived.
