Weirdest thing you've wrapped up for your kids?

Or anyone really I suppose!

I've just wrapped up a massive (800g I think) bottle of Heinz ketchup for my kid! We've had to cut costs recently and have been trying various own brands (of which none come close to the real thing so far, according to DS) so I thought I'd treat him for Xmas. Don't worry he has some proper gifts too 😂

What's the oddest thing you've found yourself wrapping up?

I am about to wrap a very large jar of pickled gherkins - those huge ones you get in fish and chip shops. My 3 year old insisted that we get it for DH for Christmas!

A shower wiper.
My 3 year old loves to put soap suds on the shower screen then clean the screen when he has a bath. He kept borrowing the one from the other bathroom (which has a shower but no bath) so for Christmas he is getting his very own wiper. He will probably enjoy it more than anything else.

I had forgotten that we bought one for ds (now, nearly 11) when he was a toddler at Christmas too! 😂

Currently wrapping a coconut in a pillow for my DH, that my DD3 has insisted is her gift to Daddy!

We have no idea where this idea came from, but she's more excited for this than she is her own presents 🥰

My step father once felt brave and along with my brother they wrapped up a new ironing board for my mother - to replace the 15 year old wonky and fairly useless one she was using. The rule for gifts has always been something you don't need but wanted - it was genuinely hilarious and you could tell how nervous they both were handing over a very obvious wrapped up ironing board. My mother had the last laugh as she promptly made sure my step father paid for an expensive new iron - he didn't quite see that bit coming 😂🤪

Retractable tape measure.

@anxiousatnight

Completely missing the point of the thread- but aren't all tape measures retractable?

Bigoldmachine · 22/12/2022 22:30

A tractor magazine (like auto trader for tractors). Guarantee it will be his favourite present.
