What do you do for breakfast on 1st Dec

I know some people will go all out with the North Pole breakfast but wondering if there is a toned down version I can do on a Thursday before work?!

I may end up flinging their advent calendars at them in a rush to make it to school on time!

I have no idea what you're talking about - is this a thing?

I must be very out of touch 😂

Fancy pancakes / waffles and advent calendars here! You can buy the pre-made ones and warm them up, but of Nutella and some cream and it's good to go 😊

Is this seriously a thing?! We have toast/cereal-the same as we do every other day if the year. Even Christmas day!

Eat toast leaning over the skink whilst shouting for DC to leave the house?

It feels like more stuff gets added to Xmas every year. It's all utterly unnecessary, consumption for the sake of it. Xmas can be perfectly special as a day on its own without the fanfare for a month beforehand.

I make a pavlova so it sets a 'snowy scene', then I place all the gingerbread reindeer and a sleigh full of pancakes on it.

Also, if you do it one year, you are pretty much committing to do it every year from then on.

Fuck that.

Well we love the North Pole breakfast 🤣

Christmas tree made from fruit (grapes, blueberries)

Pancakes with smarties on them so they look like baubles.

Advent calendars

Flavoured milk in our Christmas mugs

Chocolate coins scattered across the table (that I wrap in Christmas wrapping paper like a table cloth)

Harmless fun and worth that 5 minutes more faffing about to see the kids faces all excited. I love how everyone gets so offended by the thought of other people enjoying breakfast though 🤣. I do an awesome fry up on a weekend too but nobody gets their knickers in a twist about that.

How do you get the skink to stay still? Mine just scuttles off...

I'd say Christmas is BETTER without the nonsense preceding it. But everyone is different.

My DC usually have porridge/muesli or granola for breakfast, followed by a crumpet or toast.

I don’t do a special breakfast on Dec 1st, but if I was going to, I would maybe get a chocolatey muesli (or add some chocolate to porridge) and Christmas tree shaped crumpets, and maybe offer a hot chocolate.

If I’m doing a special weekend breakfast, which I do make an effort for sometimes, I might have bake at home frozen pastries, but not sure I have the wherewithal on a workday.
