Here's mine:

  1. Elf isn't that good. Engaging at the beginning, but once he's in the US it gets pretty boring

  2. Turkey has an awful after taste

Mashed potato does not belong anywhere near Xmas Dinner or a roast dinner for that matter

FlamingoSocks · 18/11/2022 22:43

If you don’t like Christmas you’re miserable.

Timeforabiscuit · 18/11/2022 22:44

You need cauliflower cheese to make the turkey bearable.

pinkksugarmouse · 18/11/2022 22:44

I would rather listen to nails on a chalkboard for several house than sit through The Sound of Music which is on every year. Not in our house DH hates it too.

Same with Christmas adverts which far from being festive are actually all vomit inducing.

Sassysally6969 · 18/11/2022 22:45

Christmas is a great time for an affair x

EspeciallyD · 18/11/2022 22:45

Cauliflower cheese has no place in a roast dinner

EspeciallyD · 18/11/2022 22:45

Fairytale of New York is bloody awful.

angelofdeath21 · 18/11/2022 22:45

midnight mass is the best piss up of the year

kopiy · 18/11/2022 22:46

Dinner without mash & roast potatoes is shit

kopiy · 18/11/2022 22:46

Christmas eve boxes should at least be given at the beginning of the month.

Agree, but Boxing Day with cold turkey and salad.....

Vallmo47 · 18/11/2022 22:51

Christmas Eve is by far the best Christmas celebration day, Christmas Day is mediocre in comparison and Boxing day is meh.

Trees6 · 18/11/2022 22:51

The lead-up is better than the day itself.

HelloBunny · 18/11/2022 22:53

Mince pies / Christmas cake / pudding / mulled wine / everything Christmas flavoured = bleurgh!

Hugh Fearnley-W has chocolate cake.

Amoozbooze · 18/11/2022 22:54

I'm not into Christmas, I don't like the food, the songs and films are crap, the unfettered consumerism is obscene.

Mostlygrumpy · 18/11/2022 22:54

So true!

MrsAvocet · 18/11/2022 22:55

Christmas pudding is the work of the devil.
Chicken is nicer than turkey.
Sprouts are lovely.

MightyAtlantic · 18/11/2022 22:56

Presents for adults are a waste of money, resources and effort.

MrsAvocet · 18/11/2022 22:56

Secret Santas should be banned.

randomusername666 · 18/11/2022 22:57

Excluding the truly religious, the whole bloody thing is baffling, start to finish. This country (UK) goes mental starting in October. Nowhere else in the world is as batshit crazy over Xmas as here. I've never understood it and never will.

MagpiePi · 18/11/2022 22:57

Christmas stockings come from Father Christmas, presents from under the tree come from actual people.

TitsInAbsentia · 18/11/2022 22:58

People spend too much on crap, stop buying crap!

BlackCatTabbyCat · 18/11/2022 23:01

If people want to buy piles of presents for their children then that's up to them and other people should mind their own business. Equally if people want to buy their children one or two presents then no one should judge them for that either. Although I very rarely see the second situation but must see about a hundred judgemental comments about the first.

Also pigs in blankets 🤢🤢

pinkksugarmouse · 18/11/2022 23:01

It has buggar all to do with Christians. They knicked the idea from the Pagans.
