Here's mine:

1. Elf isn't that good. Engaging at the beginning, but once he's in the US it gets pretty boring

2. Turkey has an awful after taste

3. Love Actually IS a good film

Mashed potato does not belong anywhere near Xmas Dinner or a roast dinner for that matter

If you don’t like Christmas you’re miserable.

You need cauliflower cheese to make the turkey bearable.

I would rather listen to nails on a chalkboard for several house than sit through The Sound of Music which is on every year. Not in our house DH hates it too.

Same with Christmas adverts which far from being festive are actually all vomit inducing.

Christmas eve boxes should at least be given at the beginning of the month.

Agree, but Boxing Day with cold turkey and salad.....

Christmas Eve is by far the best Christmas celebration day, Christmas Day is mediocre in comparison and Boxing day is meh.

The lead-up is better than the day itself.

Mince pies / Christmas cake / pudding / mulled wine / everything Christmas flavoured = bleurgh!

I'm not into Christmas, I don't like the food, the songs and films are crap, the unfettered consumerism is obscene.

Excluding the truly religious, the whole bloody thing is baffling, start to finish. This country (UK) goes mental starting in October. Nowhere else in the world is as batshit crazy over Xmas as here. I've never understood it and never will.

Christmas stockings come from Father Christmas, presents from under the tree come from actual people.

People spend too much on crap, stop buying crap!

If people want to buy piles of presents for their children then that's up to them and other people should mind their own business. Equally if people want to buy their children one or two presents then no one should judge them for that either. Although I very rarely see the second situation but must see about a hundred judgemental comments about the first.
