No church fair can’t go but I’ll get a candle led one on Sunday the rest of the money will help me in December.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/11/2022 18:05

The shed isn't huge, only 7x4 feet. Just big enough for what it's needed for!

I detest working late, Crazy!

I don't know what we'd do without our shed Fluffy. It's DH's sanctuary now - he head there and channels his inner Monty.

I've had a good day. DH has been visiting his mum so I started with a PI breakfast with friends and then came home to do some housework. I made the cake part of a Christmas chocolate log and then blitzed the kitchen.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 23/11/2022 19:05

My husband has four sheds although technically one is a sun house and one is teeny and keeps the car cleaning shiz in.

BiddyPop · 23/11/2022 21:38

I am sitting with my McDs dinner in a bag on a train platform - but to conference is over and the important people are happy with how it went!! Lots more to do before year end (including write a job application form and prep for Christmas and do 1001 things at work!) but this moestone has been successfully hurdled!

CrazyBaubles · 24/11/2022 10:19

31 Morning. We had a lot of storms yesterday and I've just heard thunder again so walking the dog is going to be fun today 🙄

I love our shed. DH put up some sturdy shelving in there and emptied the 2 mini-shed boxes we have so I nabbed one for my gardening stuff.

I'm home alone until tomorrow evening as DH is on an overnight residential trip. I started work early and will finish at 5:30 which should be enough time to get on top of the majority of stuff.
Planning to spend an hour doing some cleaning / tidying then going to have a festive evening watching films, doing the backstitch on my x stitch card for MIL, possibly starting the next one and/or flicking through the Christmas country living magazine that I haven't opened yet. Looking forward to it! Xmas Smile

WreckTangled · 24/11/2022 10:25

We had really heavy rain last night. Enjoy your day Crazy!

I can get loads done before work now we’ve moved. This morning I dropped dd at the bus, went to Tesco, then Waitrose, put a wash on and cleaned our bathroom all before I logged on for work.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/11/2022 18:03

Evening!

Long old day today. Catching up with being off and trying to prep for being off tomorrow afternoon. Busy, busy!

We've had shocking weather on and off (mostly on!) for weeks! Really not good. Getting wash dry is a bloody nightmare.

I'm cleaning tomorrow, ahead of the trees going up. Can't believe we're at that time of year already!

I should be in bed right now sleeping but I'm just waiting for the washing machine to finish so I can hang things up on the heated rail and get another load on to go out tomorrow (Suposed to be nice all day so washing day here we come )

The last Rudolph Day of the year Xmas Shock and ........ 30 Days to go .

I night have a wander about when my DS goes to the gym but TBH there isn't much on my list (except the Snowman LooRoll) that I need to get now , then it's food shopping nearer the time .

DH(trying to be all cute and pretend he listens to me - as if ) asked "Is it this weekend you're making the Christmas Pudding"?

I have The Christmas Pudding in the pantry where it has say for the past goodness knows how many months , certainly the last 2 Christmases . This year it will be hauled out , steamed and doused with brandy a-light .

I am making The Cake next weekend , starting with a good 2 day soak in Amarretto .

WreckTangled · 25/11/2022 06:50

30!!!

Morning! Busy day today, going to go to Aldi before work, work until 1 then meeting an old colleague in town for lunch, need to get ds balloons for his birthday tomorrow and get a click and collect from Argos. This evening a quick dinner with my friend before we go and see Six at the theatre.

RCN have announced strike dates, one of them I’m already taking the dc to London though.

Taytocrisps · 25/11/2022 07:20

Morning everyone. I thought I'd be first to post but I see I've been beaten by both 70 and Wreck.

I have the day off work because it's Late Late Toy Show night and we're going to put up the Christmas tree and decorations when DD gets home from college. So I want to spend a few hours cleaning the house etc.

For those of you don't know, the Late Late Show is a chat show on Friday nights on Irish TV. Once a year, in late November/early December, they have a special show dedicated to children and Christmas. They have children demonstrating toys and they also have children singing and performing on the show. The show starts at 9.30 p.m. so it's too late for small kids really - they're probably asleep within the first 30 minutes. But older kids are allowed to stay up late to watch it and that's half of the appeal - the excitement of being allowed to stay up late. In recent years they've also had a feature whereby kids who have cancer get to meet their sporting or musical heroes and maybe get treated to a holiday. The show is a bit of an institution in Ireland and being picked to appear or perform on the show is A Very Big Deal for the children in question.

We watched a cheesy Christmas movie last night (Holidate) except it wasn't all that cheesy.

Anyway, I was up early to drop DD down to her bus for college but I'm going to go back to bed for a bit. Have a good Friday everyone.

WreckTangled · 25/11/2022 07:22

Sounds like you’re in for a lovely day Tayto.

Dd has an inset day today so she’s still in bed.

CrazyBaubles · 25/11/2022 09:29

Morning. Having a bit of a strange morning as I'm suddenly feeling overwhelmed by my to do list which I wrote out last night.
Realistically some of it isn't important at all (it includes planned crafty things) but between work, Christmas (shopping, wrapping, cards, getting presents to the right place at the right time, especially the charity ones), housework, craft projects, studying for exams, prepping for potential promotion and a few health things it suddenly seems like a lot.
I'm going to tell myself it's hormones, try and ignore the feeling and hope the dog walk later helps me shake it off.

Plan is to work work work today and get myself into as good as a position as possible by 5, study for an hour and half (which is about as long as I can concentrate for in one stretch), then DH will be home so it'll be tea, trying to fix my printer pix log in so I can finally order my photo calendars and if I'm still awake after that I really want to finish my cross stitch card - it needs back stitch and the word Quackers added to the bottom Xmas Smile

WreckTangled · 25/11/2022 09:32

Eugh I feel you in the overwhelm Crazy I have no words of wisdom. I’m sure you’ll feel better once you’ve ticked a few off though, I usually do.

70 I got the snowman and the snow dog loo roll in Aldi! I only bought 8 rolls, will just use it for the downstairs loo and main bathroom I think. Even then they won’t last long, hopefully they’ll still have it next week.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/11/2022 16:29

Our Aldi hasn't had the loo roll. When did you get yours, Wreck?

I've got nothing done I planned to get done this afternoon. Fail!

Always4Brenner · 25/11/2022 16:34

Got my chestnuts will heat 9n the oven then have with a bit of salt. Old fashioned I know also thrilled these are silly things to some but mean the world to me as on my own now caramel coffee matchmakers in Tesco, they’ve gone in the stocking. Would like cheap ideas please no make up no alcohol.

WreckTangled · 25/11/2022 16:46

This morning fluffy

TheWoollybacksWife · 25/11/2022 16:55

Did you manage to shake off the overwhelm Crazy? My only suggestion to deal with a potentially overwhelming to do list is to colour code it. Everything to be done by a certain date in a certain colour etc.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/11/2022 17:11

WreckTangled · 25/11/2022 16:46

This morning fluffy

Oh, maybe ours hasn't made room for it yet. It was carnage in there just now!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 25/11/2022 17:15

I went at 8am so wasn’t too bad. Town was heaving!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/11/2022 20:28

I looked in Wilko today (no Snowman LooRoll) , Aldi didn't habe last week, I might have to try tomorrow .
Our town centre was a 'mare today as well, the roads were gridlocked with roadworks and so nany ambulance/police bluelighters , there must;ve been something going on.

I dropped DS at the gym , he;s been going diligently for the past year or so, more to wind down his mind on the treadmill . Had a mosey round the shops , I was surprised how busy they were .

NoWordForFluffy · 25/11/2022 21:31

We're now not building the new allotment shed tomorrow as the forecast is dire! It will have to wait.

I've done most of my cleaning in preparation for the trees. We've stopped now, seeing as we've got time tomorrow to do it! We also need to finish sorting DS' room, as DH built a 16 cube storage thing tonight, which we moved to his room. However, we need to shift a load of stuff under the bed to tidy there too. It's never ending!

29 Up lovely and early as my shoulder, wrist and elbow joints are agony and I can't get comfy in bed. Not happy.

Not doing a great deal today. Having fish and chips from the takeaway to save me cooking which I am looking forward to.

Bought a few more presents this week, pretty close to finishing I think (possibly).

WreckTangled · 26/11/2022 07:08

Why have you had autoimmune tests? Sorry you’re suffering so much.

I went to see Six last night it was so good! Tired now as ds woke us up at 6:15 as it’s his birthday. Dh is working 🙄

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 26/11/2022 07:43

Wreck I have had a blood test which says my crp levels are 9 and they should be lower, which is a marker for Rheumatoid Arthritis so I have been referred to a rheumatologist under the two week wait.

Happy birthday to your son. Hope he has a good day. You will need a nap later 😴 🤣
