Morning!

I'm tired.

The plan for today is to pop into town on a loo roll hunt to get my usual pay day Wilko shop, and a Pizza Express gift card for our meal after the Santa train on 23 Dec, as they're 20% off until Tuesday (Sainsbury’s).

I'm also going to check M&S for the Buck's Fizz price as I'd like a couple of bottles, but not at full price! We have shed loads of drink in the house already really though, it has to be said. 😳

Just need to get my arse out of bed. 🤣

Morning everyone. I enjoyed the Toy Show last night. I didn't get half the cleaning done that I'd planned for yesterday. Had to collect DD from college earlier than anticipated and then she was very tired and went back to bed for a bit, so I couldn't hoover. Will do it today instead.

The tree is up and decorated. We've lots a few more bits to go up on the mantelpiece and cabinet, but I'm leaving that to DD because she likes to do it a certain way. And we've to put up the outdoor lights.

We got a take away last night and we'll have leftovers today. Then we're heading to Dublin to see 'Beauty and the Beast'. Iirc we bought the tickets in 2020 but they kept postponing it because of Covid. It worked out nicely in the end - a pre-Christmas treat.

why sorry to hear about your aches and pains. Sounds like arthritis. I hope you manage to go back to bed for a nap.

Happy Birthday to your son "Wreck". Are you planning anything nice for his birthday?

Fluffy hope your loo roll mission is successful.

Taytocrisps · 26/11/2022 08:53

My Nutcracker cushion has come down in price from €30 to €24. Hmmmm.......

WreckTangled · 26/11/2022 09:08

Do it Tayto! Well, I’ve just made American pancakes with bacon and this afternoon we’re going to the Christmas light switch on and out for dinner.

Taytocrisps · 26/11/2022 09:19

Sounds like a lovely day Wreck

WreckTangled · 26/11/2022 10:18

I ordered ds a giant birthday cookie instead of a cake but DHL are being shit and twice now have claimed they can’t gain access to the property which is rubbish. I’m guessing because it doesn’t come up on their sat nav, and they’re too stupid to Google, the drivers just can’t be bothered to find us. I’m so annoyed and disappointed as he would have loved it and now he has no cake.

WreckTangled · 26/11/2022 10:43

I take that back, it came right after I posted 😂

29 Up lovely and early as my shoulder, wrist and elbow joints are agony and I can't get comfy in bed. Not happy.

Not doing a great deal today. Having fish and chips from the takeaway to save me cooking which I am looking forward to.

Bought a few more presents this week, pretty close to finishing I think (possibly).

I feel your pain my arthritis is hell at the moment.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/11/2022 14:21

Still no loo roll. Gonna have to stalk the Wilko website and Aldi until it's in my possession. Xmas Grin

Morning all, DS and I are unwell again. This has been the worst autumn for health for us ever :( Just really hoping this is the end as this is our last free weekend before Christmas and I really don’t want to have to cancel Christmas plans. Especially as we had to cancel them all last year due to COVID.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/11/2022 07:36

Morning.

Sorry you're unwell, Dreaming. It's probably your immune systems getting back up to speed after Covid. Hopefully you're better soon.

It's 🎄 day here. Whoop whoop!

Ooh so exciting fluffy!

Happy first Sunday of advent all 🌲

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/11/2022 08:11

Morning
No trees here again this year (due to our cats , the female thinks she's the feline version of Chris Bonington ) but DH is venturing up intp the attic to get the Christmas towels, shower curtain ,cushion covers and DS bedding)

DD and I went to see ABBA Voyage , we were on the DanceFloor zone , the holograms were brilliant , there were huge screens and lightshows . sound level was amazing .
So this morning I'm a bit fragile , I took a couple of paracetamol before I went to bed (not a hangover , I don't drink) but my back is a bit gripey .!

Four weeks till Christmas Day Xmas Grin

WreckTangled · 27/11/2022 09:52

Sorry you’re unwell again dreaming.

That’s exciting fluffy! Dd wants us to get ours next weekend, we’ve never done it so early but that’s because we haven’t had the space and I guess we do this year.

70 I get that hungover feeling when I have a late night, even though I’ve usually not drunk.

I’ve only just woken up! Feel rubbish for it tbh. Ds and dd both have homework to do today and I’m hoping dh will fit the towel rings and loo roll holders etc. I have a mountain of washing to fold and need to go over my formative for my essay that’s due Tuesday.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 27/11/2022 13:52

Hope you feel better soon Dreaming. One of the many Dr's I have spoken to recently suggested taking Quercetin to help build the immune system. Vitamins C and D are good if you are not already taking them.

My husband is busy putting up the outside Christmas lights, as the weather is dry, ready for next weekend. Blackpool eat your heart out 🤣

Not sure if this thread is open for all but if it is I’d like to join. Our trimmings went up today so I’m officially ready for the countdown

Happy first Sunday of advent all 🌲

And to you candle lit in church and my favourite The angel Gabriel hymn sung at the end so I was very happy.

Of course! Our only rule is that you live Christmas 😅 there’s often lots of non Christmas talk too but whatever you want to say is welcome.

I bought dd a mini tree and lights for her room today so she’s happy, well she was until I asked her to tidy her room and told her off for opening the Christmas crackers (for cheese). PITA.

Ds did a great job of his homework, with my help/guidance, I folded the washing and Dh has hung the downstairs loo bits I wanted him too, hopefully he will do the others after dinner. I didn’t check any uni work but can’t do everything. I also need to join the gym and get the courage up to go tomorrow morning.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/11/2022 19:12

Hello Yorkshire

I got DDs Dec 1st Box presents wrapped , then found out I have a bag for DS but not for DD <sigh>

DH went up in the attic and found 2 packs of The Snowman looroll <hoorah> that must've been left over from last year . So if I buy some of the M&S silver star (if they do it this year) I should be ok,

Picked up DD present (she chose it) so we're making tracks .

YorkshireMom · 27/11/2022 20:22

@WreckTangled brilliant thank you I definitely love Christmas so I’ve ticked that box lol.
I’ve ordered everyone’s presents except for DH and DC’s but I’m hoping I’ll get a few hours to myself at some point this month to go to town to get their stuff. The town Christmas light switch on was this weekend so it’ll be a festive trip.

CrazyBaubles · 27/11/2022 22:36

Evening. Sorry you're I'll again Dreaming

The overwhelm got me so I ended up pulling all my random lists and stresses together and making one big plan.
I also told DH who didn't really get it but did say he will do more of the housework and cooking which is something I guess.

Spent yesterday cleaning, food shopping, making my plan, doing a Christmas present audit and finished the x stitch card for MIL.

Spent today doing some studying/revision, ordering the last of my presents (except those I need to get from town this week).
Also went to see the new Black Panther film. So sad, was so glad it was dark so no one saw my teary eyes Blush

I need to sleep soon but my mind is going a million miles a minute so don't think it's going to happen...

NoWordForFluffy · 28/11/2022 06:04

Morning!

Our weather seems to be improving this week, which is good, as we've had huge amounts of rain recently.

I'm thereabouts completely done for Christmas now. Crazy, I hope you're feeling better now your plan of action is written down. I have lots in my diary now.

Poor DS loves Christmas, but also struggles to process all of the busy-ness of it, so he is more prone to meltdown. Difficult balance for him.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 28/11/2022 08:09

Morning. Went to the new gym. Was scary. Didn’t like it.

Ds gets stressed at Christmas too, it’s why we usually stay at home, this year we’re going to PIL’s though but they’re only five mins up the road now and ds said he’s happy to go as long as we don’t have to go early.

Hope you got some sleep Crazy.

I’ve still got a couple of stocking fillers to get but more because I want to than need to, dd has one less than ds so that is a need. I also need to get dh’s birthday present but no idea what to get him. Would it be lame to get him a voucher for the massive shopping centre? He’s desperate for new clothes but never buys himself any as he feels he has to save/clear debts (sensible)/use it for family things.

YorkshireMom · 28/11/2022 12:06

@70isaLimitNotaTarget I really love the idea of the snowman loo roll I’ve never seen that before
@CrazyBaubles i Have been wanting to see the new black panther film but after you said that I think I will wait until I can watch it at home so I don’t embarrass myself sobbing in the cinema
@WreckTangled i think a voucher is fine. I do the same for DH sometimes as I’d rather he got something he will actually wear/use

I’ve planned for presents for DH and DC, some stuff I’ll have to get delivered but there’s a few little bits I can get from town. DM is having DS1 for a bit this weekend so I think I’ll take DS2 in the sling and do some shopping then. Then it’s just the food shopping to do and we’re all ready.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/11/2022 21:25

Hopefully dry here all week , I washed the towels today , including the Chrismas towels .
DS Christmas bedding going out tomorrow so its ready for Thursday
