I don't know what to get him.
He doesn't like stuff - no gadgets, posters, jokey gifts.
He doesn't drink
Is vegan so no food products
He doesn't have any hobbies really.
Things that have been a success in the past are a laptop tray and headphones.
I need help!!!

What does he spend his time doing?

dizzydizzydizzy · 12/11/2022 12:38

A trip to a show, play or museum?

donttalkaboutbookclub · 12/11/2022 12:39

Mine is the same - I have no ideas other than expensive stuff like a weekend away!

BIWI · 12/11/2022 12:39

A vegan cookbook?

BIWI · 12/11/2022 12:39

... or a vegan cookery course?

LetUsPonce · 12/11/2022 12:40

Online magazine subscription?

dizzydizzydizzy · 12/11/2022 12:41

I went down the slide in the Orbit in the Olympic Park for my birthday, then cocktails and lunch afterwards. Brilliant fun!

PinkSyCo · 12/11/2022 12:48

Get him a life! Only partly joking.

Slimjimtobe · 12/11/2022 12:51

I got mine (and were a success)

wireless ear buds - he uses them a lot for calls etc

decent trainers

a seat for his boat (random but just think of his hobbies )

trip away

would he like plants or stuff like that ?

12BottlesOfVintageChampagne · 12/11/2022 12:52

He sounds like a person who appreciates a practical solution. Is there anything you could get him that might solve a problem, or help with something? One of my husband's favourite presents was a Leatherman multi-tool.

NoSquirrels · 12/11/2022 12:55

On a different thread someone just linked to Social Supermarket which has loads of ethical gifts - if being vegan is from an ethical perspective I bet you’d find something there?

I bought my brother who is somewhat similar an eco solar-rechargeable powerbank - might that be useful to him?

wednesday32 · 12/11/2022 12:56

Sounds like we won’t appreciate ‘clutter’ or ‘things’ so I would book an experience. Maybe a driving experience or hot air balloon ride, they are tickets, special meal out somehow different.

Thanks for the ideas.
He doesn't really do much other than look after the kids, work and watch tv/phone. Although he does love walking.
We have numerous vegan cookery books that he never uses.
I don't think I could stretch financially to a weekend away.
An experience could be good but I don't know who he'd go with as we'd struggle to get childcare to go together.

My DH literally has everything and is impossible to buy for as he just wants gadgets that are way out of budget, which he will buy for himself throughout the year. I take the time to buy him the more luxurious versions of what he needs so things like bamboo pyjamas and socks, lambswool lined leather slippers (although obviously not for your husband if he’s vegan but could find a vegan friendly alternative), cashmere jumpers, I’ve also got him days out/ experiences. He particularly enjoyed a visit to a chilli farm that involved a lesson in how to grow them, pick your own from the greenhouses, a chilli eating “contest” and a chilli based meal.

This would be my dream. We did go to one for my birthday a few years ago.

There's a thread on here for top 30 men's gifts I got him 4 from there, 2 pairs of Levi's and a pair of vintage silk pyjamas from Etsy as a jokey present. He's had the Levi's already tho so looking for the biggest box of ferrero rocher I can find

NoSquirrels · 12/11/2022 13:08

If he likes walking, decent socks and a new thermos flask?

LimeCheesecake · 12/11/2022 13:15

You could put together a vegan treats hamper - you can buy an empty wicker hamper and fill with all the different treats you can find from various shops he might like.

HowBerryPeachy · 12/11/2022 13:21

Maybe something off this list?

He doesn't do hot drinks. Just to be even more of a pain

I do a stocking for him when I do the kids and it's exclusively vegan chocolate/sweets.

Ha! He is a pain, isn’t he? Decent thermos drinks bottle will keep things cold as well as hot tho…

Does he have any favourite walking kit that you could upgrade? Backpack wearing out, decent hat etc.? Leatherman tool as PP suggested always useful for outdoorsy stuff, solar powerbank if he uses a maps app like OS (my bro also a walker, coincidentally) - if he doesn’t have it yet you can get a gift card subscription for a year if he’d use it?

LimeCheesecake · 12/11/2022 13:45

Vegan other things - like vegan cheese and then cheese biscuits and chutneys?
