I'd ditto all the games already mentioned for a 4 year old. Adding Horrid Henry game. Simple, fun and in Aldi for £10 at moment.

Just a word of warning the regular game of life was a bit long winded and boring for my then 8 year old and we play alot of board games! She really liked the junior version when she was younger too. She doesn't mind it now at 10 but it's not one we reach for (I'm a firm believer in buying second hand games then it's no big deal if its a bit crap! We have tried many over the years and if I had paid £20+ for them I would have been fuming but for a few pounds or even free in many cases I don't mind!)

The last time I saw a Next discount it was on a leaflet near the till and you got money off when opening an account. No idea if they still do that though.

Can anyone recommend anywhere that does good wooden play food in the wooden crates? Got DD one of the bargain food stands from aldi now need the wooden food to go with but there around £15 per box on Amazon
