I don’t understand this - but might help someone? I’ve been checking the price of a switch game (Minecraft dungeons) on Amazon , hoping for a price drop to use a voucher I had. Tonight I discovered that when I googled it, it came up on the Amazon website for £19.99, when it is still showing at £28.92 on the app. It seems to be exactly the same version - so it’s worth checking the website vs the app it seems!

It may not be suitable for you but I'm pretty sure this game is included in the Xbox game pass. You can get free trials and months free sometimes so it maybe would be an option to use your voucher to buy a few months subscription to that so that they could play Minecraft dungeons but also access all of the other game pass games

slipperypenguin · 02/11/2022 22:29

Argh ignore me I just re read and seen you said switch

I don't suppose anyone has a Nike birthday discount code spare for the uk website? I am after a pair of Nike air max plus black men's trainers. Annoyingly only the more expensive Vapormax are available on JD with the 20% app discount code. Thanks

Notlongnow1 · 02/11/2022 22:36

@Favouritefruits I think Are You There God, It's Me Margaret is a better Judy Blume choice for a 12 year old, I absolutely loved it.

Takes me right back to being 12 myself. She writes a great teenage girl - like she was in my puberty-hormone head! Great book.

Forever had a sex scene, I recall, I'd say for older girls.

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 03/11/2022 04:40

@AhmenGwendolyn that’s such a nice idea. Maybe a Christmas scented air freshener, Christmas napkins, insulated coffee mug, Christmas socks, novelty headbands, voucher for McDonald’s or costa (not sure where is open or if they’d have time?), coffee bags, tinsel for the ambulance

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 03/11/2022 04:45

I’m wondering if anyone has any recommendations for toy farm animals. I don’t really want to pay Schleich prices if I can help it, (long story involving a fully functioning set of existing Schleich animals that DS1(who has additional needs) doesn’t play with but can’t cope with DS2 playing with. I basically don’t want to have my life’s savings invested in Schleich.) They don’t need to be that quality but I don’t want to buy the ones where the animals look like they’ve been involved in some sort of science experiment gone wrong.

@Eve was it Forbidden Planet? Forbidden Planet

Yes! That’s it - thank you!

sittingonacornflake · 03/11/2022 05:00

@TheBigFish what about one of the cooking kits from dishoom?

Melissa and Doug did a lovely set of farm animals last year. I also bought a carry stable with a set of horses. Both were great quality and are still played with. I think they came from WHs but Amazon did them too. Under £20 each.

Thanks to these threads I have done most of my shopping but I am SO stuck for DH. He is a real shopper so anything he needs he buys before I get a look in. Often I get a fancy meal or night away somewhere but we have asked family to have the kids a fair bit lately so don't want to do that. He is quite a foodie so was thinking of an at home meal kit or some kind of foodie gift but I am stuck! Any ideas please?

I'd highly recommend Aktar at home.

HarryPfabfan · 03/11/2022 06:21

Online cook-along cookery class from a charity called Migrateful look good. I’ve not used them but considering one for my DM. Could be worth a look for @TheBigFish

highvizjacket · 03/11/2022 06:31

Someone was talking about shay and blue further up the thread. QVC have this? Remember referral codes and too cash back.

DD got a bucket of animals from Argos for her birthday. I was expecting them to be a bit meh but I was pleasantly surprised www.argos.co.uk/product/8047759
