It's early September and we're already on thread 3 - wonder how many threads we'll get to this year! Any bets? Mine is 29!

Kids Echo Dots HERE Can’t see a code though.

The code is ECHOKIDS. It is in a little box at the top of the screen

WhyDoesItAlways · 06/09/2022 09:49

I see this in the kids dot - may not be eligible for all

Buy Echo Dot Kids for only £25.99 using promo code ECHOKIDS and unlock a world of child-friendly content. For eligible customers only.

Ruralretreating · 06/09/2022 09:55

I just tried to use ECHOKIDS and it didn’t work - T&Cs say only for customers who have received the offer. They are £28 at John Lewis as well.

Take care with vouchers like Love to Shop and One for All ... I can't remember which but my SIL used to get me one every year from the garage at the end of her road dated the evening before! and they were a pain tbh ... if you forget what's on them retailer's aren't able to scan and tell you and it wasn't always possible to pay part voucher/part other method.

Also after about i think a year the company debits a small amount off the balance each month Confused

A bit of a pain in the arse really. I'd have preferred Nero or Starbucks!

FluffyFluffMonster · 04/09/2022 22:41

This is on look fantastic and looks like a lovely set

> hands over eyes whilst muttering "must not buy" on repeat < Grin

Isonthecase · 06/09/2022 10:36

@tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz second the one for all feedback, I've found them to be a total nightmare to use and dreadful customer service

I agree with this. My auntie used to buy them for my kids and I hated them.

2anddonefornow · 06/09/2022 11:15

@katmarie the Argos one is £15 and really nice, pink & purple accessories my daughter really enjoys playing with it.

Withershins · 06/09/2022 11:25

If anyone is looking for a gift for an woman or maybe a teenaged girl, Lulu Guinness has a sale www.luluguinness.com/collections/sale. 3 pairs of socks for £7 etc. It is £5 for postage but some nice bargains 😊

Irritatedmum · 06/09/2022 11:33

Zavvi has 5 items for £10, with £1.99 postage. Some nice stuff - peg boards, light up photo pegs etc.

WhereIsThisGoing · 05/09/2022 13:52

Does anyone have any suggestions for keeping someone cosy (but presentable) behind their computer? I'm thinking something like a heated chair cover but struggling to find something that is affordable/decently reviewed

Worked at home for years and ise

Fingerless gloves in pale colour

I have a heated cushion from
Lloyds (was on offer last year so I bought loads as pressies) by Beurer

Wool blanket on knee makes huge difference

thin wool scarf

insulted coffee cup or double walled cafetière

These are perfect for teens stocking fillers - thank you so much! I like that there are "proper" items like chargers as well as a pet scenes floor sticker to create mind blowing photos of your cat Grin I would never normally pay a fiver for "novelty" stuff like that so it's a great deal. That will probably be the thing the DC like most out of their presents Smile

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 06/09/2022 12:06

And by DC I mean me, obviously

lotsofthingstolearn · 06/09/2022 12:11

Looking for if people can advise for my DS nearly 10 please

  1. Friendship bracelet kit/ instructions etc- a lot of them are very pink.
  2. Magic kit that lasts- and decent tricks. Tried so many that just end up as landfill
  3. Simple but effective sushi making kit.
Haudyourwheesht · 06/09/2022 12:32

You can use the Love2shop ones to buy a John Lewis voucher which is handy as you the have a year to use the JL one. Not sure if it works for other shops.

BadgerFace · 06/09/2022 12:42

I was just looking at the Kids Echo Dot and they are only £28 at John Lewis - am I missing something that makes the Amazon starting price £55? Content maybe?

RicherThanYew · 06/09/2022 12:42

@katmarie I have a "professional" hair stylist head that I play with, bought a load of accessories from Claire's on offer. Its a million times better than the kids ones because you can clamp it to a table and it doesn't move! I paid £23 and it has a thick head full of long hair.🙈

noscoobydoodle · 06/09/2022 12:42

@lotsofthingstolearn - would DS like a paracord bracelet kit like this: www.365games.co.uk/educational-games/brainstorm-toys-outdoor-adventure-paracord-wristbands. The Melissa and Doug magic set has been a great hit here (my DD is 9)

RicherThanYew · 06/09/2022 12:48

@lotsofthingstolearn My DS 9.5 particularly loves this trick item, I would avoid the Marvins Magic box as it is quite cheap and tatty.

Turtle Doves - to the people whose gloves are too small, and the person who received fewer than they'd ordered:

I also ordered four pairs and was sent one. I sent a message to tell them, with a photo of the mailing box which was only big enough for one pair.

I added that the pair they had sent were too small to get my hand in, which hadn't been a problem with any I'd ordered from their website. (I don't know if they could look up all my previous orders to check that I was an existing customer. My email address is different and they wouldn't know my ebay name, but my real name and address are the same.)

In little over an hour I received a reply to say they would send out 4 more pairs.

They arrived quickly, and the only faults I could find were a gap in the machine sewn seam in all of them. This is easy to fix. Also, there's one label to each pair, and the black line is on the inside for all of them. I think I've been very lucky.

Worth sending a message if your gloves are too small?
