It's early September and we're already on thread 3 - wonder how many threads we'll get to this year! Any bets? Mine is 29!

If you have a referral link for a website, do post it on this thread

See post 2 for some (hopefully) useful links.

Try AliExpress - you'll need to order now. Type in things like minifigure, kawaii, TikTok, creative, sensory etc and you can find things for under £1

How does postage work on something like AliExpress? I was under the assumption you have to buy in bulk and then it's extortionate postage and it takes forever to get here?

@TwinsAndTiramisu lots of things have free postage on Ali Express (but lots of things also say they do when they actually don’t!) no need to buy in bulk but they do take a while (a month or so normally) to arrive. I’ve ordered lots from there over the years and never been disappointed, you just have to take some time to search for the best deal.

CatOfTheLand · 12/09/2022 19:53

@TwinsAndTiramisu the best thing to do is to load up your trolley and checkout all at once. It'll tell you postage will be 8 weeks but I've had stuff arrive in days. Most isn't bulk buying but you can bulk buy.

If go on to sites like Urban Outfitters, Firebox etc you can search for inspo and then look for the items on AliExpress

Smyths Toys have this tub of 24 mini squishies which might be good for advent calendars?

@TwinsAndTiramisu here's some example searches (results are customised a bit towards what you've previously searched for if you're a previous customer so this is skewed towards me)

Thank you for the velvetiser offers. I’ve got a £5 voucher for my birthday which also gives free delivery so I’ve got 2 packs of the chocolate for £8.50! I’ve always fancied the Black Forest one so I’ll toast to you when I taste it.

Also thanks to the poster for the Tesco stationary bargains, I got 2 smiggle pencil cases for £1.50 each and 2 see through rucksacks full of own brand stationary for £3 each instead of £12, they’ll be put away for next September!

@Irritatedmum

My £5 birthday voucher doesn't take the postage off 😩

I'm hoping to build an advent calendar for my DD(12).

Saw these on an ad on FB, they're super cute she'd love them but at £8.50 each there's no way I'm getting them. Anyone seen anything similarish at a decent price or have suggestions for other cutesy little bits.

She's got a ton of allergies so chocolate/sweets etc are out. She is into gaming (Roblox & Minecraft) & music, cute kawaii type stuff, definitely not into crafts.

Have a look on wish, shein and blippo. I've bought lots of kawaii/cutesy bits from all of those places in the past for my dds (14 and 10 this year) and been very happy with them 😊 Shein is definitely my favourite as I can buy homewear bits, clothes, stocking fillers, tacky decorations and the matching pjs all in one place (and free returns if it isn't quite right!) Also there's always a discount code!

Boots have their regular £10 Tuesday offers today.

There are a couple of Soap and Glory bundles which might make suitable presents, as might this Wet/dry eyeshadow palette.

Thank you. I remembered about them on my way home from work. I’ve looked online and can’t see that they do it but will try to give them a call today.

Thank you!

LateNightTalking · 13/09/2022 06:47

Thanks for the Burts Bees tip. Bought some for teacher gifts!

I've had an email today from The Entertainer who seem to have a decent sale on toys.
