It's early September and we're already on thread 3 - wonder how many threads we'll get to this year! Any bets? Mine is 29!

If you have a referral link for a website, do post it on this thread

See post 2 for some (hopefully) useful links.

Not sure if it's been mentioned today but boots £10 Tuesday has a few make up bundles / brushes that might be handy for teens?

shash1982 · 06/09/2022 21:58

Accessorize has 20% off of their bestselling bags until midnight.

imnottoofussed · 06/09/2022 22:23

Sainsburys has hotel chocolate liqueur set for £5 down from £10 in store. It is the one with salted caramel, chocolate and mint chocolate 50ml bottles in. Good for a little adult gift or secret Santa

Beautifulsunflowers · 06/09/2022 22:29

@IDontDrinkTea i saw trampolines in Tesco that were reduced - however it was a couple of weeks ago and I can’t remember the price or size!! But a lot of help I know but as others have suggested - there might be some end of season bargains to be had in larger places and supermarkets

Loulouli · 06/09/2022 22:29

does anyone know of any John Lewis discount codes? I have been googling but could not find anything....

templesit · 06/09/2022 22:36

Free Craft beer following a Zavvi order
(Thanks for the Zavvi tip whoever shared).

They've emailed me about craft beer for free, just £5.95 postage.
Anyone used/ tried it?

NickMyLipple · 06/09/2022 22:43

I’m contemplating a Zavvi order but it’s so much stuff I don’t actually need 😂

psuedocream3 · 07/09/2022 05:37

@templesit I have many years ago. The beer was ok, but the company a pain. The box comes advertising the contents all over the box in huge letters so best to order where the recipient wont be in to see it. The postman loudly made a joke about ordering beer whilst recipient was in so the gift surprise was ruined. The company were unhelpful and hard to cancel with after.

Yeknom · 07/09/2022 05:55

@Loulouli JL as a general rule don't do discount codes. Your best bet is to sign up for a My John Lewis card as there are sometimes money off a £150 spend etc

They don’t. It’s either the sale, price match or discounts occasionally through their my John Alexis card. Even then it’s never 20% off type discounts.

spiderontheceiling · 07/09/2022 07:02

Just spotted that if you subscribe to Good Housekeeping by 3rd Nov you get:

  • 6 issues (inc the Christmas one)
  • a special Christmas supplement (although I'm suspicious that that might be part of the usual Christmas mag)
  • a cook book
and a free gift of a cake mitt/oven glove It's £19.99

It doesn't strike me as good as previous years but I know it's been popular before

Looking for if people can advise for my DS nearly 10 please

  1. Friendship bracelet kit/ instructions etc- a lot of them are very pink.
  2. Magic kit that lasts- and decent tricks. Tried so many that just end up as landfill
  3. Simple but effective sushi making kit.

@lotsofthingstolearn pipkits on Amazon have lovely bracelet kits that are not all pink and girly. This one is more is to make surfer style bracelets but they have other non-pink versions too. Not exactly a bargain, although they do go down in price sometimes.

Scottish Fine Soaps have 20% off everything with code THANKYOU!20

@Snowdropsarelovely I got my Velvetiser through QVC although the current offer doesn't seem as good - they may improve it later in the year though when people start thinking more about hot drinks/ Christmas presents? Or Hotel Chocolat are doing 50% off one when you take out a 6 or 12 month subscription plan, which is worth it if you'll be drinking a lot of hot chocolate anyway!

stepfordwifey · 07/09/2022 07:47

@spiderontheceiling
Do you have a link for Good Housekeeping please? I've searched and it's coming up at £25.99.

MacaroniBaloney · 07/09/2022 07:47

Samsung wireless ear buds down to £66 / £68 depending on colour from £179.

I use the app so don't have a link but attached a photo. I received mine yesterday and they are really comfortable and dead easy to set up.

Turtle Doves must have a lot of narrow fingerless gloves. They are available on their website in a 2 for 1 offer. where, broadly, you get to choose your colours. It says the code BK2S will automatically apply when you put two pairs in your basket.

It describes them as being suitable for children aged 4 to 11, which might be interesting to people who were sent slender ones in their eBay orders.

If this is your first order you can get 10% off by giving them your email address: I assume these codes stack.

deeplybaffled · 07/09/2022 08:51

Has anyone seen any good deals on playdoh sets for under £10, please? Preferably not just the tubs but with a theme? Thank you!

That’s probably why 2 of mine don’t fit at all and are tight on my daughters hand who’s 11.

Im going to request a return today.

@psuedocream3 ha, that's interesting. I said the same on last years threads, to be wary as they'd made it very hard to cancel. I got completely shouted down with posters lining up to praise them. Left me thinking I'd imagined the whole thing.

Thank you everyone for the styling head recommendations! Lots to choose from :)

I’m struggling for a reasonably low cost gift ( <£20) for a 17 year old girl. She’s so so tricky to buy for and has her own money… any ideas? Really hate vouchers

Crazydogmumma · 07/09/2022 10:05

@WaitingForEgg - if she likes make up- the make up brush cleaner is really good- you
could add some make up brushes to bring it up to your budget
cant post a link but it looks like this

@psuedocream3 thank you for that, I think I'll avoid then.

I'm always wary of things like this so your input is helpful.
I appreciate some may say they didn't have an issue but I'm happy to not risk it 👍🏼

@DrAddisonForbesMontgomery do you have a link by any chance? When I select £10 Tuesday on the website it just has a '£10 Tuesday will be back soon' and the shop now button doesn't help!
