I've never looked for Zoflora, but I think I know where I'd find it in Home Bargains and B&M.

I'm finally sitting down. Not sure I can get up again today! 🤣🤣

Xmas Grin fluffy sit down and put your feet up !

FireflyGirl · 09/10/2022 16:38

DS's uniform needs ironing because DH took it out of the tumble drier and didn't fold it 🙄

Zoflora do a scent which smells like the blueberry body spray everyone used to wear when I was in my early teens. I spray it on the radiators so the house smells like the late 90s 🤣🤣

We just use white vinegar and soap in the steam mop on the floors, for the same reason as 70

I'm keeping an eye out for the festive loo roll. It normally comes into shops this month, I think

There's nothing on the Aldi site and Wilko has email me when in stock , I'm keeping a look out on both .(for The Snowman loo paper)

M&S is sometimes ok or they have the silver star loo roll which is festive .

I've primed DH to keep an eye out in Aldi! Im
pretty sure it's imminent!

76 morning! My headphones have died but I’m still wearing them, can still hear everyone huffing and puffing.

Busy ish day today. Also I had a dream that I was beginning to go through the menopause so told dh we needed another baby asap as it would be our last chance Grin

CrazyBaubles · 10/10/2022 09:58

Morning. Back to work after a lovely weekend. The hotel was very plush and the wedding was fun.

I've definitely picked up a sniffly cough / cold type thing so although I feel fine, I sound rubbish 🙄

I don't have much planned apart from work and studying (for a work based exam) so my evenings will be dedicated to cooking healthy meals, sorting the house and organising / buying Christmas presents.
Plus DH is out next weekend and I've deliberately kept myself free so I can spend a few hours trying to get to grips with my sewing machine and get a few things made Xmas Smile

xogossipgirlxo · 10/10/2022 11:23

Morning. I shamelessly started watching Christmas movie yesterday. Didn't finish it yet, as husband came back home from work, so I wanted to spend some time with him. I just thought that time before Christmas is never enough for me so why not to start early 😂Not full speed, just little bit now and then. I prefer Christmas countdown than actual Christmas! Anyone else is the same?

NoWordForFluffy · 10/10/2022 18:12

Evening!

Busy old day today, including a system outage at work. I had been getting on top of stuff, but never mind!

I have aqua aerobics at 7.30, so will need to get my cossie on soon. I'm hoping the music is working today, as it hasn't been the last two weeks. Makes it seem longer without music!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 11/10/2022 06:27

75 hope you enjoyed aqua fluffy

Uni today. I think I know what I’m doing for my assignments so feel a little less stressed. 3° here his morning. Dh has a cold (it’s a bad one I know as I had it first) and is acting like a baby. He closed the bedroom window in a strop this morning as he hates having it open. I’ve just opened it again 😅

NoWordForFluffy · 11/10/2022 07:15

Morning!

I couldn't have married somebody who hated bedroom windows open, Wreck! Ours are open - or at least on vent - 99.9% of the time (barring strong winds!).

Aqua was good. We had music! I ache today. 🤣 Back there tonight. 😁

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 11/10/2022 08:04

Oh we always have the vents open.

My car was frozen this morning, it was actually 2° saw a slight ground frost too.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/10/2022 09:05

These aren't vents, it's partially-open.

We don't get much frost here. One coastal benefit (we aren't that old yet either, thankfully!). Are you using your heating yet?

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 11/10/2022 09:39

Morning. It was apparently 4° here when DH left for work at 7:40.

We have 2 sets of windows in the bedroom, one at either end. The ones near the bed are closed but the others are pretty much always open.
It makes the bedroom pretty cold but we both sleep better that way (except in the summer when we have to choose between breeze and hay fever).
I think we may be a weirdly warm pair though because we are still using the summer duvet (4.5tog) with no plans to change it anytime soon.

I have a busy morning then 'study leave' this afternoon before going to give blood after the failed attempt last time.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/10/2022 10:11

Cold. I meant cold. We are that old. 🤣🤣

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 11/10/2022 10:15

We only have the 4.5 tog too! I do have a hot water bottle to start the night, but Dutch that in the main. We used to use a thicker duvet, but since having kids I apparently run warmer (and our room is the warmest in the house).

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 11/10/2022 10:25

No I refuse to put the heating on until we’ve had a frost on a few consecutive days!

CrazyBaubles · 11/10/2022 10:31

I find that DH is always boiling at night so if I'm cold I lie very close to him and warm myself up 😂

We've put the heating on once last week to test it all out as it hasn't been on for months and while it was being tested I used the radiators to dry some clothes.
I think it'll come on for an hour or so in the evenings soon though - for the last few nights I've been wearing my fleece pj top and using my woollen blanket, and having ddog on my lap like a hot water bottle while I cross stitch / watch tv. Plus when DH mentioned being chilly yesterday ignoring the fact he was wearing shorts though obviously Confused

Having a mini break between meetings now and making a cuppa.

CrazyBaubles · 11/10/2022 10:38

Fuffy the winter duvet has only been in use twice over the last 18 months - when DH had Covid and couldn't get himself warm, and for one night as an emergency because I spilled a pint of squash on the bed and the summer one had to be washed Blush

I think the house we're in now has much better insulation so we don't need it.
The old house had thick stone walls, high ceilings and barely got any sun. Even with the heating on for hours we'd be lucky to get a consistent 19° in the evenings.
When the temp dropped to freezing I would sleep in pjs, 2 pairs of socks and have the thick duvet + eiderdown on. It was ridiculous - you'd get up in the night for a wee and be able to see your breath in the bathroom (extension so even less insulation and a badly fitted window) 🥶

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/10/2022 19:50

I've got a couple of days off <hurrah>, plan to go up to That London and make DH go Early Christmas Shopping with me <mwah ha ha> He carries the bags without too much whigeing , I buy him lunch.

DS and DD have new 7.5 tog duvets (M&S sumpremely washable ones ) , DH and I have 4.5 tog all year . This year I have a TeddyBear sheet , a whole bedset would be too much

WreckTangled · 12/10/2022 06:30

74 our heating came on overnight 😱 need to turn the thermostat down again. It was on 17°.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/10/2022 07:16

Morning!

We only have TRVs here and they're next to useless at controlling the temp! So it's either on timed or off; no risk of rogue heating. 🤣🤣

It seems very damp here, though hasn't rained. Not sure the overnight washing will have done much though. 🙄 It was set to rain later, so hopefully it's dried a bit.

CrazyBaubles · 12/10/2022 08:46

Morning. Lovely clear sky but 🥶 here this morning. Plus ddog woke me at 5am which I could have done without.
I have a fully fledged cold now I think, lots of congestion and sneezes along with a mild headache. Going to try echinacea and manuka honey as a friend of mine swears by them.

I may listen to something wintery while I'm working today, to cheer myself up a bit Xmas Smile

NerosFiddle · 12/10/2022 08:51

11° here but it feels a lot colder. I'm sitting at my desk/ kitchen table with a blanket and hot water bottle.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/10/2022 09:16

It's the cold season now Crazy lots of hot drinks and paracetamol . (I like hot Ribena when I'm ill , full sugar version)

Our male cat has started his 5am launch onto our bed again, he stopped when we decorated and changed our room, now about 2 weeks ago he's back in his routine . I hear him patter in, then there's a brrrrrr noise and he lands on DH side .
He's a slender boy but 4.4kg so a bit of a lump when he walks over me !

I have washing to go out , the glamour never ends !
