Nope we don’t have that kind of money going spare. We’re poor Grin I’ve told dh all physical stuff will be down to him as I know full well everything else will be down to me.

CrazyBaubles · 06/10/2022 21:17

Had a bit of a random day so am only now able to catch up on the thread.
I'm not sure what DH has done but he came home with some
Christmas magazines for me 🧐
They're not great tbh but they're better than nothing!

Firefly you moved your work stuff into the office before the craft stuff? I feel like your priorities aren't quite right 😂

Constantly I'll ask FIL for his festive shortbread recipe but I'm going to guess he has a base recipe then randomly tweaks it....

Any news on the house Wreck?
I would have loved a removal company when we moved but we had no spare money.
My friend used one 2 weeks ago (moving present from her parents) and it was £800!

Fingers crossed Wreck! DH and DD are out so I've had an evening with my Christmas magazines and a planner. Smile

into the seventies Xmas Grin I don't think this thread will last till the Bid Day flufffy

Wreck I've only moved house once (not including when I was a kid ) DH and I were in a shared house then we bought our house less than half a mile away. Moved everything in a Vaukhall Nova Xmas Grin

Emptying my Mums house took 3 Van&Man loads !

Fingers crossed about the house (and schools)

Doing washing today then Costco . Exciting stuff .

CrazyBaubles · 07/10/2022 09:48

Morning. Exciting day here - work then we're away for 2 nights for a wedding. I don't think I'm going to get a minute to do anything non family or wedding related until Sunday but it's at a posh hotel that I've always wanted to try so i don't mind.

70 that's taken me right back. DHs first 2 cars were Novas 😊 The first one only had 4 gears and he used to somehow get silly speeds out of it!

Our move took 2 van loads (we had a long based transit) and a car. We were lucky as a friend owned the van and DH has helped quite a few friends move over the years and they were all keen to repay the favour so we had a free mini moving team.
Between them and my mum and sister helping with the big clean on the old house while DH was unpacking at the new one, we were moved in a day. Was stressful but worth it!

ConstantlyCooking · 07/10/2022 10:08

Have a lovely weekend Crazy -a wedding in a posh hotel sounds fun!
Enjoy Costco 70. I am away all half- term so will have to go at a weekend in November. Let me know if they have their mega tins of Quality Street Grin.

FireflyGirl · 07/10/2022 10:42

That sounds like a lovely weekend planned, crazy.

Currently my crafting stuff is either in the loft or underneath all the office stuff that wants moving so much as I would like to get that in first it's not practical 🤷 There's lots of lovely storage in here, though - we've made use of the height and have two 4x4 kallax units 😁

xogossipgirlxo · 07/10/2022 11:56

Hi everyone😊
I sent my list to Santa aka husband, so he can start getting my Christmas present ready 😂

@CrazyBaubles sounds like a nice weekend. I would love to go to the wedding, but none in sight. Ours was last year and nothing since then, everyone is already married!

WreckTangled · 07/10/2022 12:32

I still haven’t heard. We’re going to have to hire a van, but that’s ok. Thankfully Dh has two brothers and they’re all builders so I think they should be able to do it all in one day. Dh reckons all weekend but I think if everything is ready and in order it should be doable. We will have a few weeks to get rid of all the stuff we don’t need too.

ds had his OT ax this morning just have to wait for the report now. I’m going to a spa this evening can’t wait!

Sounds lovely, enjoy. I'd give a lot for a nice facial right now.

Eleven weeks till Christmas Eve ! Xmas Grin

I need to start on the shopping For Real now I think .
Pland to get DS some socks/pants/loungewear this weekend and have a look about for DD pyjamas ( she gets a 'festive' pair which I already have in dark green , and a nice pair )

I've ordered a Dyson hairdryer for us both .

Really pleased with my Soup Maker , I made a lentil and vegetable soup, I'd precooked the lentils , had some frozen cooked potatoes , carrot , chilli, onions, tomatoe puree . All done in 20 minutes .
This will be part pf my Festive Menu , soups and nice bread from the breadmaker .

FireflyGirl · 08/10/2022 08:15

Sounds yummy, 70. I love homemade bread 😋

I'm having a lie in this morning while DH entertains the kids downstairs, then DS has football. I take DD and we explore the field while he plays, but I am not looking forward to when the weather gets bad.

How was your spa Wreck?

NoWordForFluffy · 08/10/2022 08:20

Morning!

I'm keeping an eye out for the festive loo roll. It normally comes into shops this month, I think.

I am starting the festive beer shopping on Monday (we already have wine / fizz / spirits), as well as topping up the snacks.

I still need more peanuts, but have £2 in Asda rewards to use, so will probably go there and use that to reduce the price.

I have the tree chocolates. I have the advent calendars (Divine dark chocolate rather than Moo Free this year) and I also have a whole array of dairy free chocolate for them!

I think their stockings are thereabouts done now. I need to check.

I'm done for DH, birthday and Christmas.

DS wants a Jurassic World Lego set, but I'm hoping they double the value of VIP points for Black Friday before I buy that.

DD, I need her list for her big stuff. I'm done on the small stuff for both.

I don't have too much more to get really. Hurrah!

WreckTangled · 08/10/2022 08:32

The spa was so good! They have water bed mattress toppers in the massage rooms which are heated. So relaxing and cozy.

I think the rest of my stocking bits will need to be bought in shops still struggling a bit for ds.

FireflyGirl · 08/10/2022 20:58

I did a raid on the Tesco Free From section on Thursday, so I have chocolate coins for stockings, selection boxes and chocolate figures. That'll do them!

DD is nearly done, including gifts from grandparents/aunties and uncle. I'm going to wait until half term and then poke DS to start thinking about what he would like. DH isn't bothered for gifts and neither am I really. I like a new bullet journal every year, which I've already bought, and then I bought some perfume that was very reduced. I'm going to ask DPs for babysitting so DH and I can go out together for the first time since DD was born!

Novita · 08/10/2022 21:06

Unidays has £40 off £100 code for Adidas. If you not using it could you kindly pm me one please? I have a basket valued £100 waiting :)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/10/2022 23:34

I bought pyjamas (not Christmas but winter-ey) socks and underwear for DD .

On a roll !

Morning!

This weekend is backwards as my hairdresser needed to change days, so the allotment was seen to yesterday and it's hair cuts today.

As DD is at a sleepover, we can't go until we collect her, but it'll then have to be straight to swimming so we get done before swim and splash which has music and rowdy teenagers being annoying!

I need to clean the kitchen and make the second Christmas pudding (chocolate/cherry) as well. Plus iron uniforms. I'm sure everything will fit into today somehow! 🤣🤣

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 09/10/2022 08:25

Oh you’re good fluffy I don’t iron anything. Unless we’re going to a wedding 😅

We’re going into town today (I say into town, it’s 45 mins away) to try and get ds some seamless socks, none online but apparently this M&S has some in store. Dd also has declared she needs new clothes, I agree she needs an extra jumper but that’s about it.

Will cook a roast later.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/10/2022 13:04

I think I'm going to meet myself coming back today! So far I've made the pudding, pruned the buddleia, cleaned the paved area where the starlings eat, cleaned the kitchen (etc) and taken us for hair cuts. We are now going swimming! Ironing and then sitting down then I get home!

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 09/10/2022 13:05

I'm the same, if I can get away with not ironing something I will.

I'm officially old. I just got excited cracking out the Christmas floor cleaner. Cinnamon and orange. Lovely!

NoWordForFluffy · 09/10/2022 14:26

Is that a Flash-type one, Neros? I need some more; I shall investigate!

I only iron uniform. Nothing else at all!

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 09/10/2022 14:30

It's Zoflora. I use half a cap of cinnamon and a half an orange one.

I need to find a new winter candle for my makeshift office.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/10/2022 15:12

I use Dr Bronner liquid soap on the floors and in one of those fillable handle scrubbie sponge thingies to clean the bathroom.

Currently using Almond which is lovely ( and quite festive ) but I will investigate the other ones .
I need to be careful what I use as the Fur Overlords (cats) will absorb anything via washing their paws . (Steamer is safest , I used a steam gun for the guinea-pigs' things )
