I’ve had to get the heated blanket out, it’s so cold!

TheWoollybacksWife · 30/09/2022 18:35

I went to Dunelm today and bought two long hot water bottles. I think I'm going back tomorrow for the neck warmer ones. I've got a jumper on today - I don't suit jumpers 😂

DreamingofItaly2023 · 30/09/2022 18:43

The oodie (well cheaper equivalent) came out today, it is so cold!

NoWordForFluffy · 30/09/2022 19:24

We had the heating on for 45 minutes earlier as it was 15.9° in the lounge. It's dropped to 17° now, but we'll cope. 😬🥶

I'll send the code to you, Dreaming.

It absolutely belted down here today. Really bad weather!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 30/09/2022 19:35

It's been pouring with rain here as well. I put the heating on because I keep getting really cold and shivery with this Covid nuisance.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/09/2022 19:53

I've been having a hot water bottle on my lap for working!

Our finance manager has bought some slippers like mine (old lady sheepskin jobs from Lands End) after we were talking about keeping warm WFH! 🤣🤣

I bought After Eights and 2 Terrys Chocolate Oranges to put away , so made a start at least .
Tomorrow is October !
I've put the thicker duvet on DD bed , DS refused his but he doesn;t feel the cold , even in Junior school he'd waft about in a short sleved shirt , his fleece unzipped . If I made him wear his jumper he;d peel it off as soon as he got into his class .

The Range had Hallowe'en decorations right opposire a lit up Christmas Tree (which was a bit weird) their Hallowe'en stuff was of the 'horror' type , -Evil Clown, ghoul, zombie .
I'm more Pumpkin'n'Bat

NoWordForFluffy · 30/09/2022 20:23

I got a couple of Nomo chocolate orange dairy free reindeer in Sainsbury's to stick in the kids' stockings. They'll also have a Terry's dark chocolate orange in there.

I got a massive box of Christmas Moo Free stuff today too. A bit too much really, but it was either that or pay postage! Xmas Grin

I have some snacks already, but will get more as I see them on offer.

We don't really do Halloween. Neither of us did as kids, so we don't now either.

WreckTangled · 30/09/2022 20:32

I’m not a fan of Halloween.

I got dd a onesie and some earrings today in the Tesco 25% off. I prefer to get stocking bits in real shops really. Will leave it until the shops are a bit more festive.

WreckTangled · 30/09/2022 21:07

It’s really windy here. Our recycling bin has just blown over and Dh has had to go out in the rain to pick it all up

Twelve weeks to Christmas Eve Xmas Grin

1st of October , now it really feels like Proper Autumn.
I put the Hallowe'en straws out in the dispenser glass , my DC use straws for alll their drinks , especially juice or fizzy , so they might as well use Hallowe'en ones .
Of course we'll have Christmas straws come Dec 1st .

I'm debating if I could put a DriPod (either the round one or the rectangular covered) in the garage but its at the end of the garden and I'm not convinced I'd use it . Or it'll get musty and smell damp ?

DS has an appointment this morning , I need to drop something off at the Charity Shop then I have my Covid vaccine later .

WreckTangled · 01/10/2022 07:45

Ds woke up at 4:30 this morning. Wtf. He has a cold and had the fluenz yesterday and said he had a headache so I guess that’s why. I got up with him at 5 🥱

I’ve got a food delivery today, from Morrisons as I had a £15 off code, they’re awful though - as I was doing the shop almost everything was out of stock, awful selection on loads of things and expensive! I get free delivery with Morrisons so with the voucher on top of that it’s worked out cheaper but definitely not something I’ll be repeating.

I have a bit of a sore throat now too. Joy.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/10/2022 07:58

Morning!

Wreck, Morrisons is the same here for delivery. I won't use them.

Have you used Sainsbury's delivery before, as I was given an £18 off £60 code yesterday which we can't use as we aren't new online customers?

Bit of an early waking for you. I can't remember when the kids have their flu vaccine. Mine is next week. I'm not sure about the Covid booster; I'm considering whether to or not.

WreckTangled · 01/10/2022 08:01

I have used sainburys before, yes. Morrisons have just emailed to say they didn’t have cauliflower, mozzarella, and some other bits. So poor.

My flu one is in November as I’m getting it done at a work away day, will save time compared to going to my surgery or a pharmacy.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/10/2022 08:02

Has your DH used Sainsbury's before?!

I hate deliveries like that as you then have to go sodding shopping. 🙄

OP posts:
whydoesitalwayshappentome · 01/10/2022 08:07

I have to say Morrisons here is pretty good. I mostly use them and Iceland. I used to use Ocado but the smart pass was expensive and I get a free NHS one because I registered my work email on the app.

I did book my Christmas slot with Ocado mind you, as they opened this morning, and as I have been awake most of the night coughing and snuffling I decided to go for it.

WreckTangled · 01/10/2022 08:10

Actually fluffy I think he has a new email address since I last ordered with them

NerosFiddle · 01/10/2022 08:50

Tescos has been terrible recently with stuff being out of stock. And their fruit has been really bad quality. All of the bananas the last few weeks have been bruised. I actually sent them back this week.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/10/2022 09:03

Before our delivery pass expired, we had the same issue with bananas from Sainsbury's. However, I can get good standard ones in store most of the time.

I had a smooch about town while DS and DH were at the gym.
There were a load of Christmas things I wanted to get ( the FOMO was kicking in here , it's the Evil Cousin of The Twitch Xmas Grin )

Looked at advent calendars for DS and DD , but I reminded myself I have two months to get them.
I'm going to do a Goody Box of nice toiletries for DD in the Dec 1st Box rather than a Beauty advent this year ( i did run this past her first . She agreed there's only so many nail varnishes she needs and her skin is sensitive so she tends to stick to a few items . Getting different Try Me's in an Advent Calendeer will flare her skin up)

There weren't any Christmas pyjamas yet
I did see some nice bathrobes for DS in TKMaxx but he likes a hooded robe so I'll ty a bigger branch of TK Maxx

I keep thinking "Oh I'll buy those when I have some time off in the week , too busy on a Saturday" but I think a lot will be online because they either don't have them or I'm put off carrying them.

WreckTangled · 02/10/2022 07:28

Ds wants the M&S biscuit advent calendar this year. I always think it’s nice to look round the shops but also end up getting most things online.

We’re going out for breakfast today which will be nice although we’ve all got a cold.

The Lindsay Lohan Christmas film is out on Netflix next month. Can’t wait Grin

Morning!

This weekend is arse about face as DH has a run today. So yesterday was allotment and today I'm going to do some baking and cleaning.

I don't know if we'll go swimming; it depends when DH gets back.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/10/2022 07:44

Oops. Hadn't refreshed to see Wreck's post!

I like the idea of a biscuit advent calendar!

WreckTangled · 02/10/2022 07:47

It looks pretty good! Dd wants the Tony’s chocolate one but I’m yet to see it anywhere but ocado.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/10/2022 07:51

Wreck, Google says WH Smith has it!
