Ah sorry for all those feeling rubbish

I’m using my heated airer for the first time. I’m WFH today and pleased as I can take a breather and try to plan my diary out a bit. Not sure how I’m going to fit everything in.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2022 19:47

Our washing got dry outside today as it was dry and breezy.

It's a nasty bug, Dreaming. The snot situation is unreal here and my ears still hurt. At least I can get out and about though.

How was the airer, Wreck?

Evening. Fluffy today has been a bit crap tbh. Hormones are clearly effecting me because I have no patience whatsoever and have spent the day biting my tongue while knowing it's all me Blush

No medication options unfortunately Firefly.
I have PCOS and endo which are generally kind of under control pain wise but the only options for controlling my periods are the pill or medication to delay a period so it starts when you stop taking them, neither of which are viable for me / long term. Means I just have to live with random cycles which has generally meant periods are few and far between but for the last year or so since the first Covid jab they happen more often and are awful.

Why and Dreaming I hope you're feeling ok and are able to rest up properly.

Wreck what sort of things do you need to plan in the diary, boring life stuff or fun things?

That sucks crazy. Nothing exciting in my diary at all really, our lecturers have been really helpful this year and set out what we need to do in our own time each week in order to complete our project.

Fluffy when I went to bed the thinner bits were dry (pants, thin tops) I left the heat on for another four hours (12 in total) and this morning all but my jeans, waistband in thick trousers and ds’ thick jumper with pockets are dry. I also think I probably overloaded it as I had two full loads on it. Without the heat our clothes are taking 3 days to dry indoors atm so I’m pleased especially as dd was moaning she didn’t have any clean pjs last night!

NerosFiddle · 29/09/2022 07:55

Morning.

Bit of frost on the cars this morning.

Crazy I had/have the same problem with Pcos and Endo. If you want to dm me I tell tell you what helped me.

CrazyBaubles · 29/09/2022 08:58

Thank you Neros, will dm you now!

Also thank you for the reminder Wreck, I've been meaning to dig out the heated airer for a while and keep forgetting so I've just got and left it in the middle of the conservatory ready for when the washing finishes!

Plan for today is work, popping to TK Maxx on lunch in the hope of finding some shoes for an upcoming wedding, then Aldi for carrots and parsnips.
After work I'm planning on doing a roast dinner with veggie sausages, tidying our bedroom and crocheting the gonk for dsis so I can move onto the next project (a cross stitch Christmas card for MIL) Xmas Smile

sueelleker · 29/09/2022 09:05

Dog groomer is visiting today to tidy my 2 up ready for the winter. They're both spaniels, so are getting a bit shaggy round the edges.

DreamingofItaly2023 · 29/09/2022 09:28

That really sucks crazy Flowers

Those of you with heated airers are they any good and do you use a dehumidifier alongside?

I have woken up with some energy so hopefully on the way out of this! Need to be fit enough for IKEA tomorrow Grin

CrazyBaubles · 29/09/2022 13:55

Dreaming I find the heated airer pretty good. I don't have a cover but I throw a king size sheet over it once it's loaded up and that seems to help.
No dehumidifier here but I use it in the conservatory and have 2 windows open in the day. Will happily use it with windows closed in the evening though.

What are you going to IKEA for? I'm very jealous. My car is too small to be able to buy much there and DH absolutely refuses to go with again because I take ages and want everything 😂

I bought a Christmas present in Aldi, a lovely board book of the Gruffalos Child for my niece. £3 - bargain! Will add it to the presents I bought for my dad while we were away in August Xmas Grin

Also, FYI, there was a Christmas home display in the Next window when I walked passed earlier.... 🎄

NerosFiddle · 29/09/2022 14:55

I went to Dunnes today and got some Christmas/cinnamon room diffusers. My house sleeps great now.

DreamingofItaly2023 · 29/09/2022 15:47

Thanks crazy, I was thinking of getting one for our conservatory. Have BIL moving in with us this winter so another adults clothing to get dry (he will do his own washing but will need to dry it alongside ours). How long does a load take to dry?

we are getting some stuff for BIL from IKEA (clothes storage and a computer chair) as well as some bookcases for us. Will no doubt pick up random other stuff too and of course will have lunch there! We absolutely love a child free IKEA date.

All the kids on DS’ taxi were talking Christmas lists today and it seems they all want consoles! I do really need to start on Christmas shopping now (pay day today so time to get started).

WreckTangled · 29/09/2022 16:01

I have a cover for mine and don’t use a dehumidifier. I’ve just taken the two hoodies off that were still wet in the hoods. My jeans are still a bit damp so I’ve hung them in the airing cupboard. So two loads fully dry (minus the jeans!) in 24 hours. Our house is chilly at the moment (heating almost clicked on this morning, had to turn the thermostat down!) and even underwear was taking 2-3 days to dry.

DreamingofItaly2023 · 29/09/2022 16:11

That’s good wreck! Think we definitely need to get one.

CrazyBaubles · 29/09/2022 17:07

Are you happy about BIL moving in? I'm imagining my SIL living in my house - she'd drive me mad I think!

Same here with the airer Dreaming. Mine only holds 1 load but it takes 24 hours max pretty much.

Which one do you have Wreck? I really want a Lakeland one but DH nabbed me an Aldi one a few years ago so I justify relaxing it (and the Lakeland ones are £££).

I'm about to finish work. I took a break and threw some veg into roast while the oven is on anyway. They'll become soup and I've added garlic, rosemary and thyme so my house smells delicious 🤤

NoWordForFluffy · 29/09/2022 18:00

Evening!

I'm so bloody busy at work; it's a nightmare. And is never-ending. Ah well.

Dreaming, you're brave having family move in. At least he can have his own loo though. 🚽🤣

I hope your dogs aren't too cold now you've sheared them, Sue!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 29/09/2022 18:12

I’ve got the Lakeland one. I had a 20% code plus £10 nhs discount on top and I wanted a big one as there’s four of us.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/09/2022 18:26

I have a small airer (Aldi ) it doesn't fold oiut , has 6 bars like a ladder shape . It's on the landing and there's hanginf rails over the stairwell and the small bedroom (aka junkroom )
De-humid on a timer after the shower is used and has a "Laundry" setting that I use if there's washing hanging up .

If I got a bigger one I think I'd buy the DriSoon Pod , it takes hangers and the air wafts upwards ( enclosed in the PodCover) rather than having to move things about . Still thinking as at the moment I can hang things outside .

DreamingofItaly2023 · 29/09/2022 18:58

The Lakeland one looks nice and big.

I am ok with BIL moving in, tbh he is very low maintenance and when he is here just slots right in. We shall see how I feel in a few months Grin

DS designed a Christmas card at school so I have just ordered some packs of cards and gift tags so that is sorted.

NerosFiddle · 29/09/2022 19:01

I have the Lakeland one too with the cover. It's about 6 years old so I can't remember what I paid for it. I'd far rather get the clothes out on the line, but it hasn't bloody stopped raining

CrazyBaubles · 29/09/2022 19:26

Oh dear, I just read my last post back and it's rubbish and filled with typos Blush
What I was trying to say was I can't justify replacing my airer no matter how much I want to

We're now trying to work out how much it costs to run....

You're very brave dreaming!

The veggie roast dinner was exactly what I needed on a cold day but I now can't be arsed to do anything.
Going to allow myself to watch the rest of the programme that's on then I'll fold clothes, put them away and get started on the crochet.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/09/2022 20:25

@DreamingofItaly2023, do you want a 20% off Lakeland code? #enabler

I don't get them trimmed too short for the winter-it's more of a 'tidy-up'; so they don't collect mud in their feathers.. And their coats grow quite fast.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/09/2022 07:17

Morning!

It's apparently going to chuck it down today. Dry for the moment, however, but the washing will need to come in before DH goes to work!

At least the dogs aren't totally shorn, Sue! 😁

DS had his first OT session in school yesterday and loved it! We've said she can keep going for as long as he needs it, not just the 8 sessions she said in her report. No point getting DLA if it isn't being used for stuff like this.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 30/09/2022 07:33

It’s 3° here. Brrrr meant to rain but not until late this afternoon.

DreamingofItaly2023 · 30/09/2022 08:11

Yes please fluffy

so glad the OT went well :)

IKEA day for us, just waiting for DS to go to school and then we are off.

It will definitely help that BIL’s bedroom has an en-suite, will feel more like his own separate space. He is an introvert like me so will appreciate that I think.
